You are only 5k more followers than me on UA-cam and yet you are a GOH at a furry convention. I’m heaps happy for you and as much as I would love someday be invited as GOH at a furcon, I would even travel to the host city or town to shoot a promo for it as a hype if I were a GOH as long it’s in Australia. But either way, I’d so make a trailer to send to the con staff as an MP4 to check out before uploading it to my channel. But being 5k subs less than you brings me more hope for someday be a GOH at least of a small furcon here in Australia like WAFF or Aurawra or MFC at least.

Honestly HOW did it bomb? I'm looking for more creative and original content thats not just talking about drama on twitter, like beta, nothing wrong with beta but everyones doing that type of content now, either that, or vrchat, and its SPARCE. Why is every response just 'Nah, cause the people that dislike furries are way worse ect. ect.' If the question was 'Are furries even the least bit self aware', the comments would have provided a much better answer. Literally one comment mentions that it 'childish' but not immature. I don't think being a furry is immature, however if furries aren't your thing, that's cool just don't harras and bully people for doing things they love as long as they're not crossing the line. And don't think saying things like "quiet furry" or "furry detected opinion rejected" makes you think i won't clap back. I do understand not everyone is perfect, and some of us do cross the line, (and i do condemn that behavior) but that doesn't give people the right to group us all together and act like we're all the same. Cause trust me you've never seen a based furry such as myself out in the wild before.

Short answer: No. Long answer: Like any kind of fandom, it is - by the choice of the member - an overtly visible expression and extension of what the member is interested in. If a member of the furry fandom goes all out and buys a customized fursuit, that fursuit is guaranteed to turn heads in public. Likewise, if a car enthusiast buys themselves a Tesla Cybertruck, they are doing exactly the same thing: overtly and very publicly expressing their interest in what they like.

I'm a boomer and a furry. I found the fandom late, does that make me immature? NO. It's a hobby!

I know that people use words differently, I know that there are some people who will say things like watching cartoons, playing video games and playing with toys like lego is childish and immature. Personally the way I use the words immature and childish, is refering to peoples behavior and not what they enjoy doing as a hobby or have an interest in. Behavior like, being upset that people aren't behaving the way you think they should, and not bothering to ask yourself why that is upsetting to you. I'm neurodivergent (Autism, ADHD.) and one of the most mature things I've been doing for as long as I remember, is asking why. It didn't take long to find out that society isn't happy when you don't fit in the neat box they expect you to fit in. I've tried fitting, I've tried being "Normal" but that went out the window because I realised that I unironically need things to make logical sense for me to care, and I bring a certain "Being a furry makes perfect logical sense to me, unlike gender" to the table, that society doesn't really vibe with.

imo its not immature to express yourself of who you are, since furries are hated on so much id say that its brave being public about one atp

People don't grow up and act like adults like they did in the past. In the 1800s you where expected to act like a mature adult by the time you where 18 and the vast majority did. Now mature adult meant you would take full responsibility for your actions. Now days people that are in their 30s still act like children and out right refuse to take full responsibility for their actions and expect others to fix whatever they messed up. Running around wearing a thick shag carpet sweating your balls off or drawing anthropomorphic characters because you like to do so has nothing to do with being a mature adult. Now making sure all of your bills are covered for the next month and having some emergency money saved away before spending five grand on a shag carpet to wear so you can sweat your balls off on a vacation that you dropped a couple more grand on is being a mature adult.

Putting aside childish things has always been a thing. It's a kind of milestone for growing up. I think, regardless of the generation that a grown up partakes in, we tend to get nostalgic. Look at all these adults who go paying thousands for those video games they grew up with... and parted with when they had 'put away childish things.' Why, I'm thinking of a classic movie. _"Rosebud."_ spoke the dying man, confusing everyone. Well, *SPOILERS ALERT!!!*. Ships did land on the shores of America and this dying man spoke of a childish thing he once parted with. If you want to think of gambling, working, drinking and other such adult things as the positives to growing up, then so be it. But on many levels, growing up just plain out sucks. We shouldn't fully part with the playful sides of our youth... just because age marker _whatever_ told us to.

I’m like you Ryv. And you preached it well. TBH, IDC what people think about a 30 year old like me cosplaying as an animal character for a hobby. Both younger and the oldies. It may be immature but it’s not hurting anyone. And so what. For instance, is it immature to like newer music over the older stuff? I like Bluey which is a kids cartoon but I like it for the humour, the cuteness factor as well it relates to Australian culture to a tee. But not like I’m into what is on UA-cam kids like Cocomellon or whatever. And I agree that being what boomers expected as “adult” dose suck and being a human is boring. FFS the guy in the Reggie rabbit suit is like in his 60s and still mascots for the South Sydney Rabbitohs Rugby League club here in Australia and he enjoys it and people love him for it. I’m more happier being a humanoid lizard than I am as a human anyway.

I think people should do what they enjoy as long as it does not hurt anyone and if other people do not like it they can suck it up and deal with it and mind their own business.
