    Great review Scott! I've been using the ONSRA Esk8 gloves for about a year now and absolutely love 'em - AND I have definitely been using the gloves; I have crashed many times whilst wearing those 'mittens' and my hands/wrists are still good to go (I really love the wrist-brace protection)!

      Jawsome, well not about the crashing but good to hear they can take a beating, I missed adding it, but I also really like that they have rigid inserts to actually isolate your wrist, so far only other esk8 gloves I know of that use them are the Flatland Pros, so glad Onsras actually thinking about real protection features 🤙

      @fikret-or5ok I could see it, problem is with softer duros you tend to get more wear deformation over time, Ive had some separation happen with my superflys as well, I imagine the offset core could potentially add some additional stress.

    • @DredSk8
      @DredSk8 Місяць тому

      Happy to help, so if you eant similar ride feel, Propel boards are kinda the go to since they also have a similar suspension, but not the same power, if what you're looking for is a quality off road board with lots of performance than a custom job from Trampa might be the way to go. Alternatively I would also recommend the Acedeck NYX for an off the shelf option. Honorable mention to the Onsra Velar for just raw power and looks but its got some quirks as well.

    That's not a fast charger. It's just "faster" than most wimpy chargers you get. A Molicel P42A pack's 1C charge rate is 4.2A. For a 4P pack (like the one one the Phoenix), you would need a 16A charger to hit that. A 10A charger is barely putting 2.5A into each group during nominal charging. That's just over .5C. That's zero stress on the battery pack. To put it into perspective, there's more stress on the pack when you're accelerating from a dead stop.

    • @DredSk8
      @DredSk8 5 місяців тому

      Fair point, I'll freely admit Im not super well versed on the EE side of things for that sounds right for moli's, and yeah this is more generally fast charging but it's hyper charging compared to most other production boards which usually top out around 8a at most.

    • @felreview
      @felreview 5 місяців тому

      ESK8 companies are always killing me with their "fast" chargers. None of the out of the box boards come with a charger that even hits the 1C rate of the cells from what I've seen. And everyone seems to always believe that slower is better, which is true. But that doesnt mean that faster is bad if you arent even hitting the 1C rating of the cell. Kudos to calling this out. Sometimes I feel like Im the only one who ever says anything about it.

    nice! id love to scoop one if it wasnt for the top middle mounted esc and the high price tag.. for almost 3000 with the 153mm is just nuts. i bought a set of those and those tires were taller and less contact patch then there 155mm tires. they even admitted it was supposed to be the same design as the 155mm but just smaller, and it wasnt. they also acknowledged how sometimes molds come out different. they refused to send me a proper set. 3k for that setup is just too much. just my input & experience . as for the lights, i remember talking to them at the first esk8con , and they said they couldnt figure out the lights controlled by the remote . i wish there were more customers and or reviews on these boards to get a better idea of real world speed tests and longevity of the build. ✅

    • @DredSk8
      @DredSk8 5 місяців тому

      For real, quality is top, but there are just not enough of these put in the wild to get a baseline, what I really like about the metros in general is you open them up and nothing in there is proprietary so super easy to fix/update. But yeah its definitely a steep cost barrier for most riders

    Hey. Thanks for the video. Are you still using it or has it been replaces by something else? Thanks!

      Np glad you enjoyed, I actually gave this one to a friend as their first board, he's still riding it, still one of my favorite short boards but i would definitely opt for the belt drive now that its out 🤙

    Nice review! What size Ultra did you get? How is sizing generally?

    • @DredSk8
      @DredSk8 7 місяців тому

      Thanks, I got the medium, on the ultras they run a bit more true to size if that helps.

    No flex = no bindings. If the deck was flexible, bindings would be easily to install.

    • @DredSk8
      @DredSk8 7 місяців тому

      I wouldn't say that necessarily, you can definitely put bindings on stiff decks, SRB, Kaly and etox as just a few examples, though yeah the utility of bindings definitely leans more for MTB where you actually need them. Iny case I think it just needs softer bushings and a slightly less aggressive concave 🤙

    uhhhh yea correct the lack of binding option, but it will still be too stiff :-/

    • @DredSk8
      @DredSk8 7 місяців тому

      So I actually talked with Fabian about the stiffness, he agrees that my board in particular (and I have no reason to doubt others are not experiencing the same) is not within spec on the duro, will be following up on a fix or see if there might be a future option to get diff duros 🤙

    A fine summary! You make it look easy. Getting there was a challenge for me. Next time, roll the Wetlands Park trail East of town. I did so with Jon (shown here at Redrocks) as a guide + Fabian on Monday, was amazing. So great I went for a second blast on Tue skating to/from the hotel. The park and path are taken straight out of a Roadrunner cartoon. Crazy hills and turns, you never know what's over a peak, around a bend. An actual Roadrunner greeted us when we started on Monday.

      Yeah I saw clips from the wetlands ride! Looks epic, I had to take off early on Sunday so I missed it but next year definitely staying through Monday 🤙

    Too expensive, especially when you can get something like a B-one Titan (random example) for less than half the cost, and without many of the head/foot aches, yet most of the performance! The board looks cool, but it certainly doesn't look comfortable to ride for extended periods! I'd take the N3 over this all day long, and that's still a LOT less expensive. No thanks...

      I'm generally inclined to agree on the performance to cost front, however if you're going to toss OEM white label brands like b-one in there then they definitely beat out most in QC. I would also say after just under 100 miles on it, the boards actually pretty comfortable, the footing is just wonky feeling tbh. Again the only really big gripe with the Velar is the stiff handling which unfortunately hasn't really improved 😑
