@@MrPhillipsTheChangeAgent it's weird there's a thread on reddit about it and BKB acknowledged the issue, my guess is motor amps set to high combined with that sealed enclosure are the main issue but I need to dig into it a bit more.
Thanks for the positive vibes, the vestar is ok but if I were in that area I might be more inclined to look at something like the verreal RS, that being said though you wont find any OEM boards that beat the BKB in terms of cost, performance and repairability/upgrades and no one's paying me to say that hahaha
Great video and choices in the top 5! Crazy a couple years ago a $1600+ Boosted was needed to hit these performance points that all of these now hit and sometimes exceed with range. Good time to get into esk8 for sure!!🤘🏼
Right on man, it's taken a few years to.see how things settled with the companies in my list but things are start to comoditize enough to be stable and enough companies have started to figure out the secret sauce for cost vs performance, and it's actual progress not just a fresh coat of paint with companies like Exway and Backfire dumping time and money into actually developing new lines so super excited to see what next gen will look like in 2021 🤘
Hi Chris, it was actually a tough call but it came down to the G3 being just a little more budget conscious over the Zealot but honestly they are both great boards and if you can spend a little extra I would definitely lean towards getting the Zealot as the rides going to be more comfy and brakings a bit better.
Great insights man! I am looking to decide between Zealot and BKB. BKB is performance monster but aesthetically its not very appealing. Since its my first board, I am leaning towards Zealot.
Glad you found it handy, both great boards, the Zealot definitely has style points and if you just want to rip out the box and ride is defo the way to go, but if you want to have a bit more oomf the BKB is hard to beat, also can always do a deck swap down the line, but this sport/hobby is all about personal preference so go with the one that speaks more to you at the end of the day 🤙😎💪
My guy, I like the video, but whatever you did with the audio after the intro makes it really hard to listen to. The panning is set slightly to the left instead of centered, and the audio quality was significantly higher in the little opening skit. You can set your audio tracks to mono to combat the pannin, and check out @Alex Knickerbocker's youtube channel to learn about audio mixing. It's how I've been improving the audio for my own esk8 content. Best of luck!
@@DredSk8 Definitely check him out! I like to think the audio quality on my SeeTheBridges esk8 channel jumped 10x after I started using his mixing tutorials.I'll be keeping my eyes and ears out to listen to the changes in the future 👀
@@DredSk8 that's funny, I actually just started skipping using my lab because I was using external recording for it, and I was sick of syncing in post 😂 is it like a road video micro style mic? Man appreciate that love. You are right the DUO Board is beast mode. That’s for sure. A lot of value and performance for the price. 🤙🤙🤙
Much love my man, though I'm getting some feedback that the case has some over heating issues, that aside though still a solid choice 🤙
Dred Sk8 I never had that issue I wonder what situation people are riding under. Do you know?

It is indeed on the production list 🤘
thank you for video and great channel . can you tell us your opinion about vestar hawk seems powerful and under 1k

thank you for info@@DredSk8
I just purchased the BKB Duo with the speed upgrade. See you all on the other side. Tell my cat I loved him and my wife I liked her.
Just bubble wrap all the important limbs you'll be alright 🤘💪🔥🤙
What about the Verreal RS?
Honestly to new of a brand if they're still around in a year would definitely put them on the list.
BKB all day
Great Video Scott* , Thanks!! Chris*

Np you earned it, you can thank me with a high five and one of those heatsinks for when I finally bash mine together 👻
What made you choose the Backfire G3 over the Zealot?

Hey check out my review of the Zealot I share why I love the turbo feature in Backfire. I think it’s the best setup for the top speed.

For sure, I think it might also be time to ditch that cheapo shotgun mic I have been using and switch to lav

Good stuff!
Vesc is already set up, its just build/ plug/ play :)
Good to know for some reason I thought you still had to run basic setup, but really just pop the phases in and go no motor detection?

@@DredSk8 Odge is mistaken. You do need to configure VESCs out of the box. They are NOT a plug and play solution like a hobby wing or LingYi ESC.
Hmm ok imma have to go to the source on this one to validate for sure now.
