In my opinion there are too many bowls. Winning 6 should qualify you for a bowl but not guarantee it. Maybe have around 30 bowls instead of 47.

Time to eliminate the bowls go to a playoff system like the Fcs all conference champions get a bid expand to 32 teams March madness for football

It is complete BS, NCAA needs to do something. Kids should have to finish the season including the bowl game before they transfer. I understand they need to register to a new school but I'm sure they could get a waiver. Players are selfish and there is no school pride anymore. Marshall was all about ""We Play for Championships", this is BS now day. I knew Coach Huff was gone when he only recruited 11 players for next season.

Modern BIG money, including ESPN, have ruined college sports, especially football! Something has to change! And that includes professional sports.

It’s no longer about team loyalty. NIL has had such an impact that hundreds of players have entered the Portal for more $$$. Doesn’t matter that athletes are receiving a free education. It’s all about $$$.

He doesn’t have to recruit, that’s not how it is done at schools with money. Tech doesn’t have the NIL and players have to have higher grades just to get in. So Key has to. You’re missing that the whole way things are being done in college is changing, especially when you have 20 plus mil in NIL and full rev share. All Bill will have e to do is develop and Coach. As for the Brady comment, without Bill, Brady never gets drafted or even inserted into a game.

Blame Marshall for not offering a competitive extension for their coach after winning the Sun Belt title. He bet on himself that he would win and Marshall didn't want to negotiate His kids don't want to play without him and most are going to follow him.

Marshall fan here for the last 40 years and I am livid and am through with college football. I feel so sorry for the senior players who earned the right to play in a meaningful bowl game. They earned that right. What is the NCAA thinking? This is truly a sorry matter. NCAA, do the right thing and delay the portal move timing.

With a playoff system in place, I would not be surprised to see the whole bowl system collapse. It looks like the collapse has already started.

This is terrible lazy take. This was HR, Grand Slam HR for UNC. Belichick is a great defensive coach and a great fundamental coach. That will definitely translate to UNC. He can get along with players, actually many "diva" type players love this guy such as Moss. To say "no one has anything good to say about him" is ridiculous because alot of his players speak very highly of him. He has credibility almost no other hire other than Saban or Meyer would bring which will instantly translate to recruits. He has credibility that is forcing their boosters to get serious with football money. When you combine these two things and all his NFL contacts they will get players. The first Super Bowl they won with Brady, Bledsoe actually won one of their playoff games when Brady was hurt. Brady got MVP but it was Belichick defense that won that Super Bowl when they shut down the "greatest show on turf" Rams. It's crazy how you forget how this guy could coach guys and change their positions and they are impact players. Famously Edelmen but you forget about guys like Troy Brown when Bill moved a NFL WR to DB and guy was a contributor for a Super Bowl defense. To act like Bill isn't a good coach is crazy. Cristobol is better? Doeren? Come on man. You have no respect for Belichick as a coach and your lazy take sounds like a bit off ESPN where one side has to argue to idiotic side like LeBron is GOAT. Prime won 8 or 9 games this year. Freaking Lane Kiffin wins 9 games every year in SEC at Ole Miss. You don't think UNC is gonna win games and turn this thing around fast? That program has the atmosphere and energy of a minor league baseball team. The recruiting style of all recent coaches usually ends up in a skybox reserved for probation officers and judges. The ppl in that community really need to find other things to support anyways.

If I were on the Independence Bowl Committee, I would push hard for the bowl to file suit against Marshall, their coaching staff and potentially their players. There is plenty of damage that has been done here, and absolutely the standing by the Bowl to attempt to collect damages and recoup potential losses.

UGA rarely played the best West Bama and/or LSU when they are the top teams. Or whoever the leaders are season to season. Now that the divisions are gone they’re whining about finally having to play a tougher schedule. 🥲

College sports are a travesty anyway. It has been since NIL and the portal and all that became a thing. It's impossible to truly care anymore. Just give army the forfeit and be done with it for the year since Marshall can't play. That's what usually happens -- when a team withdraws from a game, the other guys get the W and that's that. They can't get Army a worthy opponent now no matter what happens.

One thing for sure, the entire college football talk community is talking about UNC football. Thier plan is already working 😁

THIS is horrible. This is ALL TIMING, too. Heck, Texas Coach Sarkisian has - for the last two seasons - tossed aside and told to leave the team and their teammates to wither in losing efforts. SOMEONE NEEDS TO CHANGE THE TIMETABLES. Have it occur in the Spring and, yes, foregoing "student preparation" on a new campus - BUT SO WHAT-!

You can blame the NCAA for not proactively managing the opt-out system. They probably won’t until it affects a major bowl (like GA-FSU last year; if FSU opted out). Best case for NCAA. Another team opts out of a bowl. The remaining team can play Army in one of the two bowls.

I doubt that he will be recruiting - he'll probably have someone else do that. However, I have watched a lot of the film on Bill Belichick when he was with the Pats, and he wasn't exactly a positive motivator. If I were a football player, I would rather play for a Dan Campbell rather than a Bill Belichick. UNC hasn't won the ACC in 44 years. Their fans will leave a football game for a basketball scrimmage once October rolls around. Football is a way to pass boredom before basketball. Just the way it is.
