Big kudos to Dr. Ángel Cabrera for realizing how important athletics is to the Institute. He understands that athletics is the "front porch" of any college and understands what's going on at places like Bama in how athletics helps the academic side too.
I’m really encouraged by the way the administration is getting behind the football program. If the staff can stay together for a few years there’s no telling what Tech can do
these are the types of moves you make when you don't want to just be a one off TCU or Washington but want to be a sustained success program that is guaranteed 8 wins a year with chances at conference champs and playoffs every couple years. Go Jackets!!!
Some of our older fans just don't want to let go of their dated ways. College football is a different animal and requires change to keep up. Our future is bright. Go Jackets
@@Ggg-nv5ly point is that next year is next year. No need to say stuff like “future is bright” when it is unknown. Especially with Atlanta sports, seems to jinx it more than anything.
Good thing that you were able to retain your A.D.. I know you were concerned about that ….from what I understand, he wasn’t offered the job at South Carolina but I really don’t know. Go Jackets. I was upset for you guys Friday night.
I agree with you on all points. Retaining Batt is proof that we can shell out money when needed, and even though I haven’t always been a Faulkner fan his offense has been the most fun to watch of any rendition of Tech football in a long time. Santucci has definitely tightened the defense up in a big way particularly the rush defense. Both coaches have earned their position at GT and once signed will show recruits that we are serious about building up this program. And you’re right, there is something special brewing at Tech, people who haven’t followed us during the dark ages as you and I did just don’t know how far we’ve already come.
Now one thing is confirmed, gt football is back, and is a force again. I no longer have to be ashamed to be a gt fan, this programs future is bright. 🐝💛
Ur right on them building something special. Considering where GT was a few short yrs ago. Record doesn’t tell the whole story. Ppl on the outside don’t see anything other than that.
Remember winning ain't free send a check even if it's only 💯 dollars we need 40,000 fans sending a check every quarter that would be 16 million dollars annually
Just because of recent success and influx of money doesn’t mean Tech should throw it around like in magic city. Key deserves $4.5M per year, give Buster a raise and call it a day.
Key deserves more money; if I were Key, I would wait until next year or if I were to get a new deal this year have a look-in clause for next year or two.
Not digging through all the comments to see if anyone touched on this but the comments Paul Johnson made regarding recruiting and facilities came in 2016 well after Radakovich had left. If I remember right, he and DRad had a fairly good relationship but things went really sour under Bobinski with those 2016 comments basically being an indirect shot at him.
DRad didn't put Dabo in charge at Clemson. Terry Don Phillips did. I believe Terry Don got the ball rolling facilities wise too. The hires DRad made at Clemson in other sports like women's basketball and baseball were not successful.
Key is the lowest-paid HC in the ACC (although I think since we added SMU their guy makes less!) and I think lowest in the whole P4 since Wazzu is no longer in the P4 and UCF is now paying more.
Hey, this is the bottom line... The nature of College football now is this... You either join in the Semi Pro nature of this beast or you drop Football all together... Personally I think what has happened to college football has ruined it all together... But hey, to be competitive in this business, you have to play the game...
Unfortunately I think for most of those guys they are gonna jump at an opportunity to go somewhere else. An extension and raise won’t be enough. NIL and playoffs is making everyone super opportunistic
I’m glad to see you’re psyched about that win and go out of your way to follow us. It’s almost like we make you nervous now. Otherwise, you’d just ignore us like you did 3 years ago. So are we a threat on your radar, or do you just like wasting your time 😀
When I saw the news that JBatt was getting a new contract, I breathed a sigh of relief. We definitely need him and I hope we have him for a decade.

It also can’t be understated how much Cabrera wants to see all athletics succeed. He’s taking it seriously, where many past GT presidents haven’t.
I am so glad we retained both, especially J Batt.
Great job by GT to retain all staff and coaches. With the way recruiting going, The future is bright
Brent Key loves Tech, he's not going anywhere. Not saying we shouldn't give him a raise. All the others, absolutely.
President Angel deserves huge credit for the support.
Time to cut a check to the athletic dept to support Batt, and the administration. Great news! Thanks Wreck Talk!
Key and Company have done an amazing job getting the program on the right track. It’s great to see the turn around.
I been saying the same exact thing. That’s how you know they are changing the whole thing inside out and I’m loving it
This is great news for Tech! Go Jackets!
Wreck. Class is in session. Love it
Add in the fact that we keep adding great recruits and this is a massive win for GT football across the board.
Im an su fan and have been pulling for gteck this whole season it looked liked a fun team all year to watch to bad you couldnt get one over georgia

Nope. FSU hired nebraska defensive coordinator so if santucci does leave he’s not going there.

There's not many head coaches will hire an OC that's gonna run the wheels of the quarterback.
Well that depends on the QB.

Thought on Jamal Haynes?
