      It's a fine television, The only problem that I had with it was it has an aggressive ABL or not even that really more like a sudden ABL occasionally, and when it would dim because of the ABL it just would stay dim and never come back to full brightness. I scoured around the internet and the one thing I found that worked that fixed the problem was to turn off quick start. There's a setting in the general settings menu that is a feature called quick start. It basically keeps the main system suspended and paused instead of completely off when you turn the television off. Somebody on a forum suggested to turn that off and that they had done it and it fixed their dimming problem and I tried it and it fixed my dimming problem. Like I said supposedly it's supposed to allow the TV to come out of standby quicker but it's only like 2 seconds quicker so it's not even that big of a deal. But yeah turn that off immediately, also turn off all the eco picture settings and the setting that detects what it is that you're watching so it can automatically adjust picture quality, turn that feature off immediately. Sorry to be long-winded but overall it's a great TV and I would recommend getting the bigger models over the 48. The 48 is fine however it looks like a small television because of its dimensions. I noticed it as soon as I put it on my entertainment stand it looks like a small teeny tiny television.

    Preamp can compensate for the power amp people they think if they have a very strong amplifier it means it gets louder that's correct but at the same time it helps with the harmony study about it you will understand😊

      I suppose, although in my experience a preemplifier has and much larger impact on sound quality than a Poweramp. You could take a single power amp and a set of speakers and hook it up to five different preamps and every time it will sound different, I know I've done it

    • @Audiorevue
      @Audiorevue 7 днів тому

      You shouldn't have to, the turntable itself comes pre-calibrated and is absolutely fine as it is. If you do however change the cartridge it might need to be updated however that's fairly straightforward to do. There is a grub screw on the counterweight that you loosen and you can adjust it from there. It is important to point out that you will require some sort of scale to measure proper tracking force

    • @Audiorevue
      @Audiorevue 9 днів тому

      Here is a link to some tweeters that you can used to replace the Tweeter that's on the c35. Bear in mind though that these are basically raw tweeters, which means that it requires gluing and soldering and very careful disassembly to install these in the speakers. Another option that I've read people do is to take an external Tweeter which you can find simply by googling external Tweeter and disconnecting the Tweeter already present on the speaker and hooking the external Tweeter up. Of course doing so will change the sound quality and dynamics of the speaker and if you like the way that they did sound then it will definitely change it up. Sorry I couldn't be more of help but once these tweeters start to go it's unfortunately a lot of work to get them right again www.ebay.com/itm/154877634035?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=il5kKU0jSxS&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

    my man 4 ohm speakers gonna be louder then 8 ohm speakers . And the reason they burned up is probably you run it too loud . Probably .They do heat up more then 8 ohm ones . So ...

    • @Audiorevue
      @Audiorevue 12 днів тому

      Did you even watch the video? I 100% explained why they burned up in the video, I'm not some 20-year-old kid who blast music at concert levels, my typical listening volume is around 65 DB and it rarely goes above 75. These speakers used a magnetic Ferro fluid in the Tweeter, that ferofluid is a liquid which dries up over time. That fluid was designed to cool the tweeters and to prevent them from overheating, over time that fluid dries up and can no longer properly cool the tweeters. Because the tweeters can no longer properly cool themselves they burn up. It's not rocket science and if you had fully watched the video I explain everything that I just said. Also finally the ability for a speaker to play loudly has to do with its ohm rating, but it has to do with far more factors than just that. Amplifier power, amplifier design and the way that the power supply interacts with the load presented by the speaker. Room interaction, how the speaker couples to the room to generate sounds and pressure waves. Sound treatment of your room or lack thereof, all of these things come together to govern the loudness of a speaker. Do you can for example have the same speaker hooked up to the same amp in two different rooms and that speaker will be louder in one of those rooms at the same volume, because of the way the sound waves interact with the room itself. And by the way if you want to use a basic measurement 8 ohm speakers generally are easier to power so therefore will theoretically get louder.

      @@Audiorevue well you do act like a kid cant we talk like grown ups , i have ferrofluid cooled highs as well , its not so uncommon but it is oversold in marketing , its just like a thermal paste on CPU to make better contact , even if it dries up should not be a problem . I have speakers that turned 18 year old , with ferrofluid cooling . Aint no problem there , and they in their time did even parties out door .PA stile ,to the limit , clipping . Still work . Behringer B20301A , when i purchased them they told it , dont do it , its a bad quality . What do they know . So the reason why it burned up , is probably high current , low resistance . Or a faulty unit , i dont know but there has to be a reason , cant be just ferrofluid , you were saying you did not crank them up , so it cant be that even if dry .

    • @Audiorevue
      @Audiorevue 11 днів тому

      @@dedskin1 All you have to do is look on the internet for forum posts about this speaker and almost everybody talks about how the tweeters are bad. If you dig deeper into why that is almost everybody talks about the fact that the fluid dries up allowing the tweeters to overheat and ultimately damage themselves. I admit I'm not an expert but if I read a hundred different forum posts with 300 different people saying the same exact thing about these speakers, then there's got to be something to it, there's got to be some truth to it. And speaker design and fundamental operation isn't overly complicated, we're not talking about calculating evaporation characteristics of black holes due to Hawking radiation relative to their mass and momentum , we're talking about membranes that vibrate electrically and their associated properties, technically simple stuff. And as I said I'm not necessarily an expert but I've been doing this long enough to know when what I read about something is probably true and frankly everything I read about these speakers said that the fluid dries up and causes the tweeters to self-destruct. Other companies make products that probably are different that use similar tech, honestly you can't judge one brand versus another in this regard. Besides these speakers are quite literally 36 years old and as far as I could go researching were probably one of the earliest designs to feature this type of cooling fluid. So by that logic alone you can assume that these first generation type products will probably be the weakest designed Of the type. Forgive me, I don't mean to argue with you, I just simply understand what I've read and juxtapose that with what I know and what I understand is this speaker, in spite of it being a decent speaker, was also a mediocre speaker. It was very early tech For its design which ultimately doesn't hold up over time. There is a lot of stuff that has been designed over the years that simply just doesn't hold up over time, and it doesn't matter whether or not there is some sort of user error or otherwise, it just doesn't hold up And doesn't last over time. There's a price to pay for being an early adopter whether by design or engineering or on a consumer level as a purchaser, there is a price to pay, often coming down to durability and reliability, ask any engineer.

      @@Audiorevue no don't apologize for your opinion , just as far as i go , all those on Forums are so Dumb its beyond belief , one time i asked how can i Stream Tidal without using my PC , playing VIA TV . They had all kinds of stupid things to say . Spend there , buy that . Then i said up on to them , how about Casting my phone to TV , that simple . The other guy was openly complaining about M Audio DAC interface that i know to be of absolute quality for i have it , he would randomly lose sound . He bashed it , i said up on to him , your speakers are on Auto Turn off and on , on signal . So stupid , beyond belief . There is nothing i can learn from those on Forums , if its not about electrical engineering . But , that being said . If dried up ferrofluid is a problem dont you think 1000s of others would not do the same . It would more likely be poor design , maybe too weak tweeter for the size of a speaker , plus low impedance , and what not . General bad design . Good speaker but until it works i would say. I like it for its Coaxial design , good stereo image . But there are better , dont know how much that one costs . If you want sound like that , you don't have to get the same speakers , coaxial design in general will give such sound , or as close to it as one can expect since every box and speaker sound different .

    • @Audiorevue
      @Audiorevue Місяць тому

      Could be, one thing I noticed and I sort of mentioned it in this review a little bit or maybe I hinted at it, but my history with TVs has always been budget television's, TVs under $300. Now a lot of under $300 televisions can be good, but the one thing that they almost never do is get terribly bright. The one thing I learned with the u7n is that if I have the brightness all the way up it is unbearably bright, and it does cause eye strain. So I actually have the brightness set at about 40 and it's substantially better. I say that because I almost wonder if that was the issue with the x90l? When I got it I went off the ratings .com settings recommendations and thought it looked good apart from the eye strain, so I wonder if that was the issue? The other thing I noticed with a lot of these fancier TVs is they do HDR so much better than the budget models, of course that makes sense. But I also noticed when watching HDR content even with the brightness set lower I get eye strain issues, just because of the glaring contrast that HDR introduces between light and dark scenes and objects within those scenes. Anyway long story I know I'm sorry, but just thought I'd share my opinion and I'm happy with The u7n and absolutely thrilled. Although I may be getting another smaller TV for the bedroom in the future and I might do a review on that as well.

    • @Audiorevue
      @Audiorevue Місяць тому

      Well I don't have the amp anymore so that should tell you everything. At the end of the day I think it is a competent performer, particularly with digital but also with things like the phono stage and just the general performance is very satisfactory, but on a personal level while I liked the amplifier I didn't really love it. Like I said it's a good performer and very satisfactory and honestly I don't see how anybody wouldn't like it, but it doesn't really do anything that wows you. It's sort of like a Toyota Corolla very competent and will stand the test of time and just hum along perfectly acceptably but it also doesn't do anything to sort of stand out. One particular thing that's a real standout feature is of course the built-in blue OS, it absolutely is phenomenal and works phenomenally and basically just gives you access to every song ever made, so definitely is worth it from that perspective. Don't take that as a criticism, if I went to a store and this was all they had to purchase, I would probably buy it. Also bear in mind some products I get, I just get for review porpoises, I don't actually intend on keeping them per se, I'm just getting them to review and that type of thing. @@Audiorevue Dang a corolla?! not even like a Camry Hybrid or something lol. Corolla for me is like the Wiim amp or something. If you needed airplay, a/b speaker hookups, optical IN, ethernet port, subout, and close to audiophile sound and power, what integrated would you recommend? i've searched and the closest thing i found was the Cambridge evo 150 but that is almost 60% more expensive.

      Well first off I think you misunderstand what I'm saying, personally I'm very fond of the Corolla, I think it's a fantastic car but at the same time it also doesn't wow me. But just because something doesn't blow my socks off doesn't mean I don't like it, not everything in life has to constantly be amazing for it to be good . I think at the end of the day a lot of this hobby is all personal preference, I don't know how many reviews I've read over the years of products and ended up purchasing that product and then I thought it was trash, but to hear the reviewer talk about it it was the best thing ever. If I was you and you're really interested in the amp, I would buy it and see how you like it. It might be everything you want and then some, although you're never going to know unless you actually buy it and listen to it for yourself. There's a lot of places online and possibly local dealers as well that will let you buy something and if you don't like it you can return it, music direct comes to mind as well as upscale audio and of course crutchfield too.

      @@Audiorevue thanks. all valid points. I've tried so many budget amps. currently i have the wiim amp (3 actually aroudn the house), and will be replacing one of the wiim's with this NAD integrated. i'm sure it will be more than sufficient! i'm not an experienced listener like you. i have listened to music for the last 25+ years and have always looked for the best sound, but my ears are not really educated like an audiophile. for me, un-distorted (at high volumes too), neutral, and non-fatiguing output is what i'm looking for which i realize can be related to your source material, speakers, room acoustics, etc. i want something that will be versatile. honestly, the wiim has been surprisingly good, especially with all of the features and the app is legit. the "auto-sensing line in" is an awesome feature on the wiim amp. anyway, thanks for your input.

    Nice video. I picked up a 75” U7N in November and I’ve also been loving it. I’ve been recommending it to people left and right, it truly is the best value for the money on the market right now. Black levels are impressive and gaming has been great. And I love how many settings there are to toggle with. Also, interesting message at the start of this vid, more young people definitely need to hear that 👍🏾

Like I said in the video, it’s kind of a sad thing if you think about it, because when I was a kid and I’m sure probably when you were a kid too you didn’t worry about the past, you lived to make today as good as it could be, and that also made your future as good as it could be. I bought this two weeks ago and it was ok for about a week and then the skipping just got worse and worse. I ruled out everything, needle, record, vibration, and had to admit this unit just skips way too much. Returned and got the 120 and the same records that were skipping like crazy have no problems whatsoever.

    • @Audiorevue
      @Audiorevue Місяць тому

      Well that's a shame to hear, sounds like you got to bum unit. Do you mean it was just skipping all by itself, or was it susceptible to footfalls and general vibration? I did notice the atlp 70 was A bit more susceptible to vibration than some other turntables, however at its price point most turntables are this way, so didn't think to really mention it. A lot A turntable's ability to deal with external vibration is obviously its design but also how we set it up and isolate it as well. Imagine building a home on the earthquake fault line in California and not building it to compensate for the potential for earthquake and then complaining when the house fell down when an earthquake happened, you see what I mean.

  • @yambo59
    @yambo59 Місяць тому

    I never bought the whole thing of automatic tables causing interference / noise with playback, the only time the full automatic mechanism is even in operation is when the tonearm is not even in play, its done operating by the time the tonearm is lowered at start of play and doesnt make any sound at records end until the last song is long over. Full auto is so convenient if you happen to fall asleep before the record ends, it lifts the tonearm and stops the record so the needle isnt grinding away in the runout groove

    • @Audiorevue
      @Audiorevue Місяць тому

      @@yambo59 But I agree with you, I have had many automatic turntables over the years and have always enjoyed them, matter of fact the atlp70 also from Audio Technica is a great budget turntable and definitely my main recommendation at the price point and it's fully automatic. I think it's a perception thing, I think it started probably back in the late '70s, some British companies and others got rid of their automatic features. They of course did it because they said it created better sound or allowed for better sound, and then within just a couple of years other companies followed suit. Denon for example on their highest end models during the late '70s and into the '80s was not an automatic table, matter of fact you had to go down the range to get an automatic, but their top models were fully manual. Such a shame because they created some of the best automatic tables on the market at the time.

I wonder if there would be a noticeable difference if you made a before and after video because I know a lot of detail can't be picked up with phone microphones

    • @Audiorevue
      @Audiorevue Місяць тому

      Well, the answer to your question is it all depends. I’m a firm believer in the idea that better isn’t always better. Meaning just because 5000 people say that something is better doesn’t necessarily mean that it is, in this case having an external dac between your CD player and your receiver. Honestly, I’ve had so much gear over the years that I don’t know how many times I’ve hooked up something thinking it would be better, but straight away ended up reverting back to the way it was because it sounded better to me. Alot of what is better sound wise is personal preference and at the end of the day its up to your ears whether or not you like it. If you want my opinion id tell you to buy it. They’re not that expensive on amazon and if you dont like it then its easy to return.

      @Audiorevue Місяць тому

      No not really, I generally have my phone around half brightness and I did Jack up the brightness on the TV initially to kind of test its brightness, obviously that's one of the hallmarks and the talking points of the television so why not try out that feature, although I didn't use it that way exclusively. And by the way if you're suggesting that the reason I had eye strain issues was because of that, well as I said I had it around 25 to 30 brightness setting and still experienced the issue, it was unrelated to the brightness. But rest assured I found a much better offering and I'll be making a video on that soon enough. Thanks for watching and thanks for commenting

      Well sorry for making that insinuation, however my point was that these turntables can regularly be picked up for under $150, or at least you could when I made the video. Now they generally didn't come with the cartridge and that was where it was expensive, replacement cartridges are outrageous. Yes I understand bang and Olufsen back in the '70s and '80s and '90s as well and of course even today, produce high-end luxury audio components, because they are high-end luxury Audio components the price is commiserate with that. Again however that wasn't my point. My point was that a lot of their vintage gear you can pick up nowadays relatively cheap, far cheaper than it was when it was new, and the same can't be said for other brands.
