Ultrasound Gel with Garmin Sonar
This video will show replacing the marine antifreeze with ultrasound gel for use with the Garmin 15HT Sonar transducer. Antifreeze can slosh and has the potential for causing errors. While this is unlikely if the well is properly filled and sealed, I encountered some issues. Replacing with ultrasound gel seems the best medium for use with the Garmin HT Sonar.

Sea Doo Switch Gas Gauge Accuracy
Переглядів 5633 місяці тому
This video will compare the Sea Doo Switch's gas gauge to the Yacht Devices Engine Gateway fuel remaining. The Yacht Devices Engine Gateway calculates the remaining fuel based upon the fuel flow rate as reported by the SeaDoo Can Bus. The Built-in gas gauge is a stepped gauge which does not give accurate gas remaining.

Mercedes W166 Differential Fluid Change
I can’t the the plug thing unplugged the first step..
That rubber qcordian style extension in-between the air-filter housing and the front intake part never seems to snap into place on the inside-part. I'm working with a low budget but I drive the car primarily so I guess I have to replace both right? There's not like a way I can tape it or something ?
Much better video than the last clowns that I watched
Wonder if warming the gel before hand would make it easier to fill?
Can you start the engine when the actuator still bad?
Yes but it depends upon whether it went bad with the brake engaged or disengaged. It it went bad with the brake disengaged, the. You can drive the vehicle normally but will not have a parking brake on that side. If it goes bad with the parking brake engaged, then the car will not move. You’d need to remove the actuator and manually (with a socket wrench and Allen socket) release the parking brake in order to drive the car.
Mine went bad today, and now my code reader has issues with all 4 speed sensors and the speedometer, gas meter, trip odometer, parking brake, power steering, and basically any drive related functions aren’t working. It went away for a bit when it happened last time. Just bought a new motor for the broken parking brake and hopefully that’ll fix it but it’s been depressing
Just picked up a used GLE43, and was hoping someone had done a video like this. Thank you!
Mr Frank, did you do away with the Stock Battery and just using the new one in its place? What do you think about using a 100amp LifePro Battery - they are much lighter. Can they be used on the Switch?
This is a great video - thank you! I have a similar setup with similar Liftmaster models and MyQ. QUESTION: Once the Meross is setup, can also still use the MyQ app to control doors? Just wondering. Thank you!
Yes. You can use the MyQ app, HomeLink garage door openers and wall buttons. The Meross sends signals like a HomeLink garage door opener. So all other methods of opening still remain functional. The biggest advantages are: 1) Meross will work with Apple HomeKit. MyQ will not. 2) There is no monthly subscription.
My auto transport driver just accessed my 2011 DB9’s dead battery the same way as you demonstrated and when he drops it off in Raleigh, NC it will be changed at a Rolls-Royce dealership.
I have 2015 S550 and do as much work on it myself as I can , and this tool looks like something I could use … since shop rates are pretty much ridiculous, this I hope will help me save some money lol
SIR, that was very helpful. So you can even have the meross inside the house 🏠 Have you done a distance test? Like opening from the kitchen or dorm ? Or the 2nd 3rd floor? I would love to have this one for the building entrance, but having the meross in the third floor our or rain. My motor is the same as yours yellow button. Great video Thanks 🙏
@@marioross yes. The merits connects to your home WiFi. So you can operate it from anywhere in the world that you can connect to the internet.
@@letsrolldiyauto1532 hey Sir thanks for your quick response . The language barrier here didn’t let me explain myself clearly hahaha. Let me try again because I’m REALLY interested in getting this solution you have. I understand that with our garage motors, we cannot connect the meross directly, instead we have to connect an accessory to the meross device, which I think is nothing but a regular remote. That makes me happy because that means (correct me if I’m wrong) that if I don’t want to use the open close sensors, I can put the meross WiFi device along with the accessory, under my bed if I want. Not necessarily in the garage. This question is because my garage door is in open air, so rain and sun might not be good for the equipment. This setup of yours if I’m correct, is my PERFECT solution 👍 Thanks again.
@@marioross that should be correct. I don’t know the range of the meross to the opener, but it should be the same as any garage door opener. I’d your regular opener works at a given distance, the meross should as well. Without the sensors, it will tell you either the garage door is always open or always closed. I don’t know if this would be a problem or not. That would be a question for meross support.
Best video. About to install part 2. Anything different you would do on salt water use?
No. I use mine in brackish water.
What about the twin turbo version?
Thank you. That was very to the point and useful
Frank, I'm trying to install the 2 flush connections from your videos. However when I looked at my intake side hose there was a hose connection when it looks like the device should go. Do I install the device above or below that hose. Maybe my hose configuration is different than yours. I have a 2023 Switch Sport. I have a picture but I could not figure out how to attach to this comment. Thanks for your help. Jack
Look at your flush ports from the outside. You’ll find them close to the bottom. Now look inside the boat and see the hose that is where it exits. Follow that up. Same for the other side.
Would this work for 2015 ML350 as well. Thanks for any advice.
@@Frankyblk24 it should.
Where do you buy the part
@@amykarr2812 Google the part number and find the cheapest place. It’s going to be a dealer, but dealers don’t all charge the same amount. My local dealer charges over twice the amount for parts as another dealer just 60 miles away. Mine I got from the Orlando dealer and had it shipped. Got it the next day. My local dealer in Melbourne is horrible for pricing.
@@amykarr2812 Google the part number I provided. You’ll get it from a dealer, but all dealers don’t charge the same amount The Melbourne Fl dealer is almost 3x that of the Orlando dealer (60 miles away). I ordered it from Orlando and had it shipped. I got it the next day.
Information was great, but very sloppy filming and hard to follow

Hi Frank, I live in Tampa suburbs and I have 2016 GLE 350 as well. After Diagnosis, MB Wesley Chapel, FL has diagnosed and recommended "Evaporator and Expansion Valve Replacement". And they are quoting very high price!. Can you or anyone in this chat suggest a place where it can be done for less. Thanks in advance!
What mileage service interval is this recommended at?
@@MrFinality69 Dealerships recommend every 30,000 miles. When I replaced mine at 100,000, they looked pretty new.
Your videos are the best. You should do a transmission fluid change.
thanks
3:37 - 4:06 is the most useful thing I've found after searching for hours on what the clicker is even for and how to pair it. Didn't find it anywhere on their site or any other vid
after change as well still coming😢😢 after reset both actuators are working still this coming
Ok. Got. Thanks.
So how do you flush the exhaust?
This is helpful. My 2021 e class is at the dealer after my e brake stuck on at the Costco gas station. The emergency service people tried to help for half an hour trying various things, no change. Horrible experience, and the car had to be towed to the dealer. The next morning, it released immediately for the service guy. Something is very wrong. This was a very expensive car, so I am not amused.
Car back. The dealer said there was. Defective software update, which can cause the e brake to not release. They did a patch and it works. Concerning.
Would you recommend driving in this condition? Car starts, drives and brakes normally...my mechanic is taking his time to get the part and my family needs supplies for the upcoming storm.
You can drive. You will not have a parking brake, though. I drove mine until parts came in. I think supplies for the storm takes precedence.
@@letsrolldiyauto1532 Thank you. 💋
I thought it was bad to start the seadoo switch motor out of the water ?
Need to read the manual. You definitely do not want to connect water to the flush port and turn the water on with the engine off. Out if the water, you start the engine first and then turn on the water. Opposite when you finish flushing. Water off, then engine off. The engine has a closed loop cooling. But uses water to cool the exhaust system.
Frank, I enjoy your videos, but this one I'm not sure about the connections for the house battery. Which positive cables do I add for the console and all else on the terminals do i rem I ve them from that engine post? can you draw it out? I'm a retired Navy electrician so it shouldn't be too hard for me to grasp and perhaps I'm overthinking
To just connect the high capacity battery, you connect the terminals on the original lower capacity battery to the high capacity battery using the new terminal posts that are a part of the cables and are placed beside the existing battery case. Do not connect both batteries. If you want to use the original battery as well, you'll need to install a battery switch. The wiring and parts are in my video on installing the battery switch.
Hey there I have a 2017 Mercedes gle350. I'm having the same issue. If I take it to a mechanic to get it fixed, how much should it cost? Does this effect starting car too? Great video! Thank you.
Why did you get gaskets?
@@paultucker5304It was part of FCP’s kit and I thought I was going to have to remove the intake manifold. As it turned out, removal of the intake wasn’t necessary and the gaskets weren’t needed.
Good job. Helps me a lot!!
How in the world did you get the driver's side rear coil into the hole? I can not seem to get it lined up to push it down in that tight fitting space.
Thanks Frank for your very intructive videos. Will the gel freeze in winter?. I'm in Canada.
Yes. Ultrasound gel is water based and will freeze at 0 degrees C and boil at 100 degrees C. You're better off using the antifreeze in Canada.
Nice one. Cheers.
Thank you. I just started having the same problem. I had not thought of using US gel. Brilliant.
Thank you. I just started having the same problem. I had not thought of using US gel. Brilliant.
That long extension will vary the torque from your wrench.😮
I do love my Switch, but the Switch fuel gauge accuracy is ridiculous! I always top off the tank whenever we have a long trip planned. Adding passengers really hurts fuel mileage big time on these boats.
I don't think the gauge reacts quickly to the amount of fuel in the tank. We were cruising the 1,000 Islands and the gauge was showing 8 bars. We stopped for a swim and upon restarting showed 7 bars. Might be coincidence, but the same thing occurred on another trip. Guessing mileage is tricky, best guess is about 4 mpg or 56 l/100km on a 18' 170 Hp Cruise.
Interesting comparison. Thanks for sharing!
Wonder if this will work on my gti se jet ski. I have the 72sv What plug did you plug into on engine that’s the only part i didn’t see
