Next year could be really rough. We have a pretty good schedule with a lot of former FCS players. Really good FCS players, but we'll see how games like Ole Miss go. After that, people could be drawn in by the chance to make the playoffs by winning the conference. Jimmy Rogers certainly knows how to maintain a championship caliber program, but he wasn't the big man when South Dakota State built up their dynasty. Then again, I've been rewatching Ted Lasso and I always love my Cougs, so I got to believe. What do you think?

I think the M's will try to sign at least a veteran first baseman after P. Alonzo signs with a new team before the start of spring training. It will be a washed up veteran who is willing to sign with a small 1-year contract. The M's offense will have to play small ball and manufacture a run here and there to to eke out a win every time they take the field.

This move is perfectly cromulent IMO. Polo had a 114 wRC+ in the second half with acceptable plate discipline. If (big if) he stays healthy, maintains a 110(ish) wRC+, and plays average defense, you have a nice 2 WAR floor. And even if he fails, they move on without hindering the miniscule budget much.

Polo is a baller who will bounce back now healthy

I know this isn't the sexy move most of us were hoping for, but I'm actually okay with this. I think moving to 3B makes sense given his declining range and knee injury, although I guess the concern is does he have the arm strength to make those long throws from 3B to 1B. Let's hope that Perry Hill works his magic with helping Polanco adapt to 3B and improving as a fielder, and that Polanco's numbers return close to pre-2024 levels. Thanks for putting together this video!

This entire interview is great, and at least to me, seems like a novel discussion regarding the dynamics of college football recruiting, signing, retention, NIL, portal, etc. Virtually every D1 athlete has to think about mobility at least twice a season, and for a multitude of reasons. Discussions like this help us fans understand the stakes as they relate to the individual athlete.
