Y'know way before Kuro launched WuWa, I actually spoke with one of the admins/mods in the discord server about being a part of their English dub cast. I was persistent and I also knew deep down I wasn't going to be good enough to get in but I still tried anyways (shout out to Violet for dealing with me (ily)). Here we are in June and I inquired some time in September about it originally and some time around October was when I got the time to send something in. We're about a good 9 months out with no response from that related department unfortunately and at this rate, I highly doubt I'll be able to get in. As a player (with a very rough time) from day 1, I took the goofy initiative to voice over the "no voice rover" and I gotta say, I don't think I personally did half bad. What I may even do is go through some of the rough patches in acting and attempt to fix them. I honestly love the English cast for WuWa but like you said man do they really need to work on the direction for acting.

What I hate about GI NPC’s is that a lot of their clothes are drawn on them and not on them. Also their faces, damn it’s dull and especially when you have to their quests, it’s like you’re talking to chiffon dolls.

I agree but reverse 1999 does not just have peak voice acting imo the main character sounds like a 12 year old and it´s extremely annoying.. the other characters have cool accents though

Awu was so cuuuute >~< But even though I'm sour about this change after finishing Lingyang's questline I see that the new look for this character is fits his story and themes way more. But I still want them to maybe revisit Awu's design for future character.

I'd like more unhinged characters in the future. A shame we lost her beta version but I guess if the execution of this version is better - so be it

Watching this video I realised that characters look bland bc NPCs just look so good.

As a grinder i almost forgot every characters speak in quests i just skip or auto it and dont pay attention to what they say😅

I would have swapped dubs to JP, even downloaded it. But then I remembered the text cut off... Aside, some voice acting was good. I don't like Aalto but his acting was good. So was Encore. Jianxin. Chixia. Though she had her moments, including raw reading a line I am sure she knows isn't grammatically correct and BARRIA. Jiyan was mostly good if, sometimes, too stoic. Scar was mostly good. Grand Library had a couple awkward moments but good. Jinhsi neither upset me nor stood out. Sanhua was alright. Did actually seem like she was a secret agent type from her acting so that was good. Nothing too wrong with Camellya. Verina seemed good. Geshu Lin was good. Lingyang simply felt a bit forced? But maybe also accurate considering he's (spoilers) an animal turned human. Baizhi and Mortefi did not stand out for good or bad. Pretty much every NPC is good. It's mostly Yangyang and Femrover. Malerover also needed a touch of work but he is better than Femrover at least.

I've also noticed that the cutscenes are weirdly... Quiet? (mild spoilers) When Yangyang got captured for a bit, Rover didnt even say anything when she reached out for her, but her mouth opened. It felt like they forgot to record some lines here and there. And I personally wish they would've kept Chixia being wary at first, it would've made the game more interesting and gaining their trust would've been more rewarding (she says we're besties like 30 minutes into the game?) Also, sometimes the text is too long and it gets hidden, and if there isn't a character narrating it there's no way to read the last few words. These kinds of technical errors keep on piling up and they impact the immersion imo

The S peaking in Genshin is HORRIFIC compared to WuWa. Ever listen to Candace speak? She's not the only one, though it mostly seems to affect female characters and namely after Candace's release too. Some NPCs even have it. Can't remember who but someone came close to Candace's S peaking, but she's definitely queen of it.

I tried to give the EN dub a chance, but my ears can only take so much. If they fix it, I'll gladly go back.

For me calcharo, jihan, scar and aalto is the best and the rest is mehh for me

Gotta say, although the dub was pretty eh, this gave me an awfully nostalgic feeling of early-mid 2000s Japanese PS2 games with English dubs that are just pretty goofy when i look back at it, especially the Yakuza PS2 English dub

I only played for an hour before giving up, and one of my biggest issues was how whispery all the girls voices are. There were moments i couldnt tell if it was yangyang or Chixia speaking. I was very underwhelmed with Chixia’s voice especially, since she soke way to softly and sweetly for her character. Shes supposed to be an upbeat, energetic and tomboyish personality, the voice they gave her truly didnt fit Im happy i wasnt being crazy about the audio quality either, because it was the first thing i noticed the second they started talking

yeah I had to swap to the JP dub, but even with that there seem to be some serious translation issues in the game. I'm having a blast with WuWa but this is probably one of the weakest points of the game atm

Its so nice having NPC's that actually have variation and look different. Its like they actually have their own lives because of how unique they look and act. Makes the game more immeserive. Meanwhile.. in Genshin, you can easily tell who is an NPC and who is a future playable character from a quick glance. The female and male NPC's faces in Genahin literally all look the same.. they only change the hairstyle/clothing its so damn lazy.

i uninstalled the game because of this issue. I will consider reinstalling after they fix the dub. Kuro hire me for VA! I got a tin can that I can use as a mic! loll!!

I know a lot of people are exited they're releasing new content sooner rather than later, but it makes me worried about the quality. I love how giving kuro games is, but if the next update isn't ready, please don't release it early of try to rush it.

There is one single line from the male MC I think from the main story that sounded like he was recording with his phone in his bedroom. And it's deeply funny to me. Love the game so far !

there is no way yhan is NOT a playable character while being dressed like that im sobbing wuwa is actually so detailed and I LOVE IT when npcs nave variation it makes the game feel so alive

The story was changed completely different from the cbt, i imagine all the VA had to retake the voice recording all over again, that yangyang voice really sound exhausted 😂, like no more energy

I started to play Genshin in Chinese cause i usually engage with materials in their OG language to live the full experience , changed to EN cause i really liked the voice dub for a chara (yanfei i believe) , i change back to chinese whenever it hppens to be an event in Mondstad tho , cause its just weird to me to hear em speaking in English now, and the child voices faoqgosbdo are roughhhh

YES, YES, YES! SOMEBODY SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT THE PRONUNCIATION OF CHINESE NAMES AND TERMS!! I know it would be a little strange to pronounce it properly in a different accent, but at the very least have it be one consistent pronunciation that all VAs follow. It bothered me a lot as a person who has Chinese classes at school 😭😭

Because the english dub is most of the time bad, is not something in this game in particular is with dub in general, i'm a sub purist so my opinion is not the most objective here, i think that a product is more enjoyable when you consume it with its original lenguage but if we need to think of a reason to why english dub is so bad first think about context, this kind of games always comes from japan or china and those lenguages are very unique so by default the translation doesnt feel right, when you take japanese or chinese sentences and translate them into english a lot of times they lose meening or sound unnatural, another thing is how english tends to kill other lenguages names and pronunciations, in the rest of the world vocals sound the same way they are writen, A sounds A, E sounds E, etc etc, but in english thats not the case, A is pronounced "EI" for some reason and not all the time, for example in "car" the A is pronounced A like in the rest of the world but in "acorn" is pronounced "EI", you get my point here i guess, and thats only if you look at it at a lenguage level, ofcourse english voice actors and direction is not as profesional as in the countries from were those games comes from, they most of the time sound fake or monotone

To be honest, I am just stocked on how bad the English voice acting was and I think it has to do with the fact that the dictator did his/her job poorly as it's clear that the voice actors are talented but it appears that the dictator didn't give the right description or something because some of this voice doesn't fit the character at all...also people can we not blame Hoyoverse, like why are people trying to create the imagine that Hoyoverse somehow sabotages them, in fact, this entire PR stunt appears to be more defecting against any criticism away from Wuthering Waves and just try to shit on Genshin Impact which I would just say...no just plain no, sure Genshin Impact has problems but this isn't one of them, so please...stop the defecting and trying to bury your head into the sand, it's stupid and just makes the community of Wuthering Wave look bad...so please stop it.
