Thank you for your question, @garyh3306. While it's rare, it is indeed possible to live without a pancreas. The surgical procedure to remove the pancreas is known as a total pancreatectomy. After the pancreas is removed, patients will need to manage their insulin and enzyme levels, as the pancreas is responsible for producing insulin and digestive enzymes. This typically involves taking insulin injections and enzyme supplements to help with digestion. With proper medical management and lifestyle adjustments, individuals can lead fulfilling lives after the removal of their pancreas. Fortunately for me, after the Ct-Scan, they realized what I have is a significant inflammation in my right kidney. I'm visiting a urologist and a gastro this coming week. I am grateful to Jesus Christ for protecting me, and may he give strength and faith to those who are struggling with such devastating illness as cancer is. I had never been so afraid. How is your mom? ❤

What was her symptoms? My husband has a 2.4cm mass and needs chemo and radiation and then the whipple procedure but I’m scared and want to try holistic medicine first. Chemo can spread the cancer cells. I’m so sorry your mom has to go through this. My husband is 59. It’s a tough disease. Make sure she gets enough food/ calories and protein and make her walk, move and strengthen herself. If she isn’t hungry make her drink protein shakes and stay positive. May God bless you with a healing miracle

My thoughts and prayers are with your family, my mother was diagnosed in December 2023, after 3 months of chemo she just had her Whipple procedure, and has been in the ICU for a week post op but is making progress everyday.
