Stanley Vitikas Receives the PHILANTHROPIC IMPACT AWARD

Hello. I am Josh Maurer and have been given the pleasure of being the emcee of the 2023 Seena Magowitz Foundation’s POWER of US “Dinner On The Diamond” held at the American Family Field, home of the Milwaukee Brewers. A special pleasure is introducing 16-year survivor of pancreatic cancer, Stan Vitikas who receives the Seena Magowtiz Foundation 2023 PHILANTHROPIC IMPACT AWARD.
Over the course of the last 16-years after his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer Stan has raised almost $500,000 through grass-roots fundraising efforts. He accomplished that feat by asking friends to make donations and asking those friends of friends to do the same. Stan encouraged friends to ask their employers to match their donations. Each new year Stan sets a higher grass-roots goal for friends, family, and work colleagues.
Stan has been inspired by Roger Magowitz’ Call To Action…..”If Not Me, Then Who?”. He credits what he calls “Four F’s.” for navigating the post-cancer journey: “Faith, Friends, Family and Fitness.” He expresses being grateful for the fundraising support during a difficult time in his life.
CURES FOLLOW MONEY
Polio was mostly eradicated by the March of Dimes Campaign.
Today Breast Cancer has over a 92% 5-year survival rate driven by Billions of dollars.
Prostate Cancer has a 5-year survival rate of about 95% due to substantial government funding.
Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia’s 5-year survival rate grew from 4% to over 90% today.
Pancreatic cancer gets far less government funding versus other types of cancer/
