    I wonder if the quality of people you get by skip abduction somehow depends on the difficulty. I'm playing on easy and I literally got the leader of the imp tribe the first time I've used skip abduction.

    Thanks for the awesome info. I've been playing Rimworld and its DLC for a long time now but never really cared for strats, min maxing or anything like that but since Anomaly came out i've been watching videos such as this that go deep into the mechanics of the game and its still amazing how deep this game can get. Still not a fan of killboxes though

    I think you couldn't pick up the ghoul's corpse because it was too heavy because of all the upgrades. I think there's a hardcoded value how much a pawn can pick up, that doesn't apply to hauling but to picking up it does.

    Wait a minute i the attack where the enemy emerged from the water is not just the entity that can do it Those damn mechanoid also capable to do it and i almost got a heart attack seeing 3 centurions and a few scythers just spawn from the river in the middle of my base lol Way to counter water based colonh i guess

    I hadn't thought of this 180° FOV door peek technique. This is amazing. Best way for a solo pawn to defend against many many threats, without using too much juggling and killboxes.

    for the metal horrors i would advice to disable your cooks since they can poison the food they make to create new horrors and can cause even secondary infestations after you just cleared and survived the first one.

    This is so good, consider both how hard to get and weapon quality sharpe/blunt, paw skill etc. that explain why i happen to find shotgun/smg were more successful in early game compared to to bolt action rifle / sniper 😅

    Do you know if there's any sense of feeding corpses to the trees? Is there any profit apart of getting rid of corpses?

      you get twisted meat by harvesting the tree after you fed it enough, which can be used to make serums (specially ghoul ressurection serum)

    I know there is a mod for everything, but never really found a mod that "fixes" the doctor thing... i hate the extreme micro required around doctors something like "no really, unless you are dying yourself, you are a doctor, if someone needs a doctor, you don't get to eat/sleep/play/medidate/anything"

    The floor etchings don't tell you entirely useless things. The names do correspond to the corpses, and if any are still alive... Well, a few of those etchings tell you of metal horror infections.

    Did you know you can "raid" enemy settlement repeatedly for components and various ores? Just raid them, mine what you want, pick your prize and retreat before things get too heated. Try not to get too close to the center of the map so you don't get caught if the enemy decides to attack. Be mindful that some settlement have a mortar. You can easily avoid the shells is you pay attention. After you retreat with your loot, you will have to way a full day before you can attack again. If you attack again after this, every ore tile you previously mined will have regenerated, providing a renewable source of ores and components. Be extremely careful about your raiders' mood as a mental break can mean death. You can also plunder things in the settlement itself if you are willing to take the extra risk. Empire settlements often have persona weapons for you to loot. If you see one, then know a new random persona weapon will be there everytime you raid. I have also seen eltech gear. If you see a particularly juicy pawn for you to recruit, you can zap them with a psy shock lance to kidnap them. It can also be a way to acquire good gear, such as low shield packs or doomsday launchers. Thread very carefully, lots of things can go wrong, it's a high risk high reward scenario. Be careful not to kill nor down too many enemies as it will cause their settlement to disappear, preventing you from plundering them again in the future. Note that this will only happen if no enemy is alive, meaning you can keep a settlement from being destroyed by provoking a wild animal right before the settlers breaks.

    In regards to the metal horrors. Interrogation can trigger two situations. The metal horror pops out with his buddies like the surgery does, or you find out it is in the pawn, but it does not know that you know. Infection via meals can even occur after you take care of the original horror. Stockpiling tons of meals might trigger new infections. Duplicates of pawns will come infected with metal horrors if the original is infected. You can duplicate suspicious spawns and kill their duplicate to check if they are infected. And when the monolith cracks and drowns you in hostile duplicates, you could end up with a swarm of metal horrors in your base as well. Been there.

    I think you're forgetting rule 6: quality matters a lot. Obviously higher quality weapons are better overall, but it's more than this. Very often, higher quality weapons can beat other specialized weapons where they would normally shine. A legendary Heavy SMG is almost always better than a masterwork chain shotgun at any range. In practice, this actually makes cheaper weapons much better than more expensive weapons. That's because the quality of a weapon is semi-random, which a chance of each quality based on the crafter's skill. If a weapon is cheap, then you can build multiple copies of it until you get higher quality. A level 20 production specialist has about 9.5% chance to produce a legendary weapon, which means you get a legendary anything at 10.5 times its normal cost on average. With that in mind, it becomes quite feasible to produce legendary assault rifles for everyone in your colony. This will cost 42 components and 790 steel on average, which is of course not cheap, but it's generally worth it. A legendary heavy SMG will wreck pretty much anything. This is even more relevant to flak vests. A legendary flak vest provides similar protection to a masterwork cataphract armor at a fraction of the price. At 10.5 components, 631 steel and 315 cloth each, it's well worth the protection. Plus, a decent trader can easily trade the lower quality flak vests at a high enough price to buy back all raw material.

    So for the fleshmass heart, heres some tips since i cant find any literally anywhere. It only spreads so far out, this is important because i was under the impression it spread for a certain amount of time and that cutting it off early would help long term. But the heart wins in attrition. Instead back up, let the inital mobs come after you and murder them safely, then deadlife em to give you numbers, after the first nerve and let it spread while you recover. When the second nerve pops out get to work, and same for the third. it can feel overwhelming and downright brutal. But dead life mortar shells as support is god tier, also i cheesed the final nerve, i sent a revenant spine group to rush the injection lol. As for the put, mine were generating wrong, likely due to a mod, if you end up in a pit with nothing in it just walls. That means its probablly bugged. I ended up using dev mode to delete it, since it just kept spawning waves, and after like the 5th one i really just felt like i was being cheated.
