Modifying Fork bushings for obsolete upside down Suzuki forks. GSXR1000 fork repair.
Using Race Tech part number# FMBO 431225P 43x12x2.5 mm bushings.
Late 1990's and early 2000's model years Suzuki GSXR 1000 motorcycles using the KYB 43mm fork tubes went obsolete pretty quickly. Finding the correct set of bushings now is impossible. A good solution is modify what is available saving lots of cash in the process. Here we shave the 12mm wide by 2.5mm thick race tech 43mm bushing set down to the Suzuki 7.8mm width. This is a very easy modification that will get you back on the road quickly with outstanding results. A very easy do it yourself job you can master on the Craftsman Atlas, Southbend or other small lathe.

    Incorrect, Distilled water used for cutting,50% alcohol used for welding. When alcohol heats up and converts to plasma which releases carbon gas in fact shielding gas that protect metal from oxidation.... Distilled water converts and produces hydrogen gas which used for cutting metals and other materials.... According to instructions there is 2 different types of anode cups with different hole diameters large for cutting small for welding,this is primary function 2nd function is 2nd power line which enable arc welding setup and also electrify surface,filling metal wire is normally grounded to prevent electrical shock,the negative polarity at 2nd power line absent and it would go on contact with primary (torch setup),avoid torch get close to clamped welding area to prevent short circuit,filling rod must be kept close but not too close to welding surfaces and torch must be kept about 0.85mm away from welding cache.... Process reminds between arc/tig to brazing technique,combination between both.... Since Multiplaz 3500 BS and constructed faulty not allow you achieve certain performances,220 volt have better performance than 120 and so on,machine should be function regardless of voltage input setup. Maximum Amps of output must be 20 not 4.3 and not 2.5,2nd failure in design involve digital rheostat control that increase or decrease voltage and amps,somehow those digital potentiometer linked with cooling fan capacitors and about 75% of machine related malfunction resolve failure of capacitors which resolve malfunctional fans or by playing with connection wires inside would switch between rheostats and fan operation.... Multiplaz 3500 have right idea and concept but failure in construction,if anyone study Multiplaz company is a splinter cell and start their own business in late 90's after split from original Russian company Plazzar which also broke to third branch Gorynich. First Multiplaz machines had transformers which was heavy and less accurate until introduction of IGBT took place,this also revolutionized new generation of welding machines and make them lighter and more compact like PC. Still Multiplaz didn't pioneer much in electronics,their sub contracting company located in China who assembles machines under Multiplaz not Chinese spec and that is why design failed,Chinese made their own variant and it proofed more stable than Multiplaz.... You need to understand parallel circuits and their plus and minus,you can't connect low consumption components on high performing or energy consuming components,this cost resistance and short circuit. This investigation of Multiplaz forced me design my own power supply,partially it completed while other half incomplete,current multiplier boards made but i didn't go beyond it and nothing been done further,torch about 85% completed but no further,I not have lot of time to engage all projects i got.... My plasma arc welder would only have single torch gun like original Plazzar have,you only switch anode cup's and flush water with alcohol solution or vise versa,inside torch there special moisture observing cloth wrapped over evaporator,moisture under heat turns into steam and steam breaks into hydrogen gas which result formation of plasma under high voltage. Plasma arc welding requires lot of voltage but much less amperage unlike arc/mig or tig welders,make it more easier to work with and eliminate requirement of shielding gas like argon or helium or oxygen with acetylene/map gas. The hotter the temperature the easier filling rod melts create enough fluidity and filling or welding joint,my torch variant allow to work 1 hour instead of few minutes,with conversion adapter and pressure regulator it also possible adapt torch for compressed air for cutting and helium gas for welding.... I also got completed aluminum heat sink where 2 fans would be located at the back,one fan is to flow in other flow out,cool air goes in hot air gets out allow linear cooling of power supply,2nd fan actuate through thermal regulating board along with thermistor located at end of torch to read temperature which activate 2nd cooling fan through contact relay.... it was took me about 2 long years to understand complete work of Multiplaz 3500 and over plasma arc welding technology and it's history and development....

    22:33 Glad to see at the end of the video, you changed the earthing cable with a jumper to get it under the clamp (the cores are far too heavy for the motor load). In summary, apart from the crappy Chinese English on the instructions, and the replacement VFD (failed but without any analysis) the cheap VFD is a success. The good news is that three VFDs are still less than half the price of an equivalent US made VFD.

  • @peteheyde7999
    @peteheyde7999 6 місяців тому

    I had a lot of wobble in my upper wheel. To fix this, I wrapped heavy duty aluminum foil and contact cement around the tensioner slide bars. Between every 2 layers of foil, I brushed a little DAP contact cement, taking care not to have any cement get on the outside surface of the foil and then pushed the bar into the axle adjusting slide groove. I repeated this process until I had almost no wobble on either side individually, and NO wobble when both slider bars were wrapped and form fitted to 2.5mm I found that 2.5 mm is the sweet thickness on the sliders. The aluminum foil is only a MacGyver temporary quick fix. I did it to get through a project, and it's holding up surprisingly well. After I finish this current project, I'm going to have my cousin mill me up a couple of new sliders to 2.5mm uniform thickness. The biggest problems I find is that with these cheap saws, is the loose the tolerances make precision cutting iffy at best. UA-cam has a lot of great instructional videos on how to "tighten up" the slop and and make it a very serviceable and respectable machine. BTW, you're absolutely correct about not skimping on the blades. The OEM blade is junk. I put a Harbor Freight "top of the line" all purpose blade, and It made a big difference. I also bought a Starrett 99192-05-04-1/2 Intenss Bimetal Band Saw Blade, Powerband M42, 1/2-inch Width, 0.025-inch Thickness, 5 ft.-4-1/2-inch Welded Band Length, Pitch (TPI): 14. I haven't put it on the saw yet, and probably won't until I get my slide bars machined, but Starrett has been a major quality manufacturer for a very long time and I expect their highly rated blade to be among the best. Whatever other tolerances I can tighten up, I'll let you know.
