2009 was such an opulent vintage. 2010 is more structured and for the longer haul, but the 09's are so sexy!
My tailor is rich
I met Matthieu recently in NYC at the Union Grand Crus Bordeaux. I told him that I recognized him from the vertical tasting video with Yannick and that video inspired me to go out and buy a 2005 Lagrange, which was absolutely delicious. He was a very nice guy and was pleased to hear it 😊
is the '16 vintage more structured?
Tasted 2009 at Emirates lounge, so perfumed, silky smooth and elegant. Loved it!
Fantastic Wine - vive la🇨🇵et le Bordelais🇨🇵
Grosser Wein🍷Vive Bordeaux🇨🇵
....and payable!
Incredible.
the Grand Vin is a favorite of mine for a long time. How long to let it mature? Thank you.
can you also say how long you air it before tasting?
Loved the ending!
2011 is a drinkers vintage. As the press quickly disregarded it, prices are accessible for us drinkers. I’ve had the ‘11 Conseillante which once again proved me that excellent producers make magic in the off-vintages.
Any chance you had the 2000 Beychevelle recently?
Got 3 bottles of 2015, benieuwd wanneer die op zn mooist zijn😊
Perfect wine. Didn’t know much of the estate But I have a few bottles 2001 and every time surprisingly good
Many thanks for sharing this!
I also had 1998,but I drank it in 2009.I agree it's a great wine.And a great video.
Great content!! Keep it up
I’ve only been lucky enough to try Pichon Lalande once in my life so far but it was at the 2020 Bordeaux Grand Cru tasting in nyc, including Pichon Baron, Lynch-Bages, Beychevelle, Giscours, etc. but no 1st growths. Pichon Lalande was BY FAR the best of the bunch out of approximately 100 wines tasted that evening. That’s saying a lot, considering 80% of the wines there were so similar to each other that I couldn’t really tell much difference, but Pichon Lalande, Pichon Baron, Lynch Bages, and Beychevelle were the ones that stood out for me.
Wow interesting to see how different the label art was, I much prefer the label now. Very clean and minimal
Who makes the decanter shown in the video? Was it Riedel?
Looks like Sydonios.
О, Мисье Пояк!!! Крутое вино🤘Рад, что вина ещё есть в мире🤩
Nice tasting. Curious where the 2017 vintage would fit in. I have it and also the 2010.
Why the fac they can’t taste that.. they keep on spilling, what the f* ??
ggrossss…
My wallet is fat too skinny.
Ook Sydonios glazen zeker? Moet er toch eens wat kopen denk ik.
*Promo sm*
How do you afford all of this haha? Excellent channel by the way, deseves alot of fame!
Beginning: How immediate is the penatraton of the higher alcohols and aromatics right to your senses? How high toned or deep toned at the very, very end? The shock and wonder⚡🌈element? Your reverence about everything is the best. Great wines! Great taster! Thank you, more please!
Love your content and am a happy subscriber. Are you only tasting wines from Bordeaux and Burgundy? Or do you also have other classic French wines from other regions (i.e. Languedoc, Loire, Alsace, etc.)
Enjoyed a bottle of 88 last week. Such an amazing producer. Love Beychevelle
Lovely vintage to drink now! Thanks for sharing!
Great. Never had beychevelle
Very interesting wine and is for sure competing very hard for the top in saint julien.
I still haven't had a privilege to try anything from Beychevelle, but things will for sure change in upcoming days ! Thank you for the video.
Thanks for your comment! And very exciting! Please let us know how the experience was!
Great tasting, by the way is it due to 18/19 is powerful you tasted them last ? Because most tasting i go start from young to aged.
Hi! Thanks for the compliment. We always tasted from old to young to see the revolution of the wines.
Great video. I'll be sure to buy a bottle if I find any Château Lagrange wines in Finland
Nice! You will be very happy you did!
Please tell me which glass do you use in your tasting videos?.....Also, I have a 1970 I'Evangile to open, any idea what I should expect from it?...cheers
These are Sydonios brand. 1970, if the bottle is in good condition and always stored properly, you could expect a very mature wine with lots a tertiary notes. Still some structure but not many fruits left. But will be a joy to drink for a 1970’s wine.
I have the lagrange 2018 i my cellar, when you guys think should i open it?
18 is quiet an approachable vintage. You can drink in now if you can’t wait. But i suggest to decant it for 1-2 hours. But my advice for storage is at least 5-8 year. Older vintages of Lagrange aren’t that expensive as well on auctions or grey market so you will get amazing value still.
Now, I am drinking it right now. Beautiful nose, opens up after hours in the glass. Cassis, black fruit, tobacco and some hint of spice.
Nice glasses! What are they?
These ones are Zalto glasses.
Been there too! Corner of my cellar stored with various years MM
Nice! You have some old vintages as well?
That's a nice waiters friend. What kind is it?
It's kind of brandless, when I worked in a Kempinski hotel, they had these unique corkscrews and during my time there they shut down the hotel for rebranding and all the corkscrews would have been thrown away but I kept a few for myself.
I am 70 years old and I remember buying several cases of the incredible 1982 Gruaud ; OMG so many beautiful experiences with this wine which was around $15/bottle at the time!
That's crazy, and such a wonderful vintage! I can imagine you will have great experience with those bottles now! Cheers Edward!
Absolutely fantastic
nice
Thanks!
Great video. I have one Lagrange 2009 in my collection. I can’t wait to drink it one day
Nice! 2009 is very hard to keep closed. Such an amazing wine!
ramonet just stunning producer perhaps even better then pycm...
With all respect to PYCM but indeed Ramonet is probably better with the true wineconnaiseurs but i would imagine that blind it could be very close together.
Great review. I wish there would be more white Burgundy available in Finland. I will research more about Domaine Ramonet in the hopes I will one day come across their wines.
Thanks! It’s indeed very tricky for Finland. But maybe we could assist you with some Burgundy bottles? We can help you find a good importer? You can always become a free member on our website and contact us. We would love to help out!
Love the wines of Lagrange which are still affordable. Should kept the old label though. Loved it.
Hi! Indeed Lagrange is still very affordable! I also loved the old label, let's hope for the best! haha
I also prefer the left bank
Which are your favorite wines from the Left Bank?
@@thewinearchive Stylistically I prefer Pauillac wines
Great video! If you had the choice between drinking L'evangile 2009, L'evangile 2010, La Conseillante 2010 or a Leoville Las Cases 2003 - which would you pick to drink this year?
Hard choice because Left bank wins most op the time so he should be left out and due to it’s age and vintage is perfect to drink now. But from the 3 Pomerols i would pick the 2009 l’evangile to drink this year.
@@thewinearchive Cheers! Looking forward to seeing more Bordeaux on your channel :-)
