🌍 South Africa 2022: Adventure and Celebration 🌍
January 2022 was brought in with a great trip through some diverse landscapes and vibrant culture of South Africa! From the beaches of Oubos to the majestic heights of Table Mountain, every moment was breathtaking and exhilarating.
Highlights:
🏖️ Beach House in Oubos: Our journey began with a night in Pretoria at my sister’s before heading to the relaxation and rejuvenation of a family beach house in Oubos. We enjoyed the warm sands, soaked up the sun, and tried not to get bowled over by the waves.
🦁 Family Game Farm New Year's Celebration: We flew back to Pretoria and brought in the New Year surrounded by the beauty of nature and friends at a family game farm (and some gnarly insects). Had some great pootjie which eventually overwhelmed our Canadian appetites and led to a more bed-ridden start to the year than we’d though
⛰️ Conquering Table Mountain: Next we flew to the cape. The climb up Table Mountain was an amazing challenge. Amazing panoramic views of Cape Town and the surrounding landscapes, and a tour through wine country in Stellenbosch to top it off.
🌿 Detour through Tsitsikamma: We took a scenic detour through the enchanting wilderness of Tsitsikamma. There is lush forests, beautiful waterfalls on the ocean and some fun bridges to explore!
🐾 Safari Adventure in Kruger: A real highlight was when we headed back East to the world-renowned Kruger National Park. We were lucky enough to see 3 Cheetahs and a Leopard within 10 minutes of driving into the park… Unheard of.
🎉 Sister’s Wedding: As our journey drew to a close, we celebrated my sister's wedding. A great end to an amazing trip and we got out with COVID test Negative :) Can’t wait to go back
