Hey Phil, need some advice! Coming from a sony, i now have the xm5 and purchased the 18mm 1.4 cuz of this amazing review. But I'm having trouble keeping everyone in focus in group photos (2-6+ people). Ive tried eye detect, face detect, zone focus, wide focus, etc and my photos come out like 50/50 when it comes to facial focusing. Any tips on how to improve this using this lens? I have a birthday coming up and since im getting 50/50 results, thinking of using this camera is kinda scaring me because i feel unreliable with it, while with the sony, it never fails me on what ever settings i use it on. Any advice fam? Also what f/stop do u recommend for the group photos? The results however on this new camera with this lens is just amazing for single subject photos! Just need them secrets for groups! lol

Yeah I have seen and experienced a few of the focus issues but have not done the latest updates that have really frustrated users. Idk how this happens to be honest. Focus is so important and to me that should be first order of importance for them to fix in updates immediately.

WOW. This video is exactly what I am currently going through. Just sold my Sony and lens and made the switch over to Fujifilm X-T2. I made the decision after I did a wedding and I kept going for the fuji. I feel like I have way more control and I spend less time messing around in the menu and more time in the present. I am watching this video and it is scary how we both have the same reasons on why we made the jump. Smh. I am just blown away on how more efficient I am with my X-T2. I got the fuji 60mm f2.8 macro and a viltrox 56mm f1.2. Ordered the fuji beast 16-55 XF LM WR today. Can't wait to run around with that one. Do you have a list of other lenses you recommend for wedding and portrait?

Enjoyed the video Phil👍 Looking at choices for my next Fuji lens. Was considering a WR rated telephoto as an “add on” for my 35mm f2 and 16mm f1.4 for some street photography however, I already have a Tamron 18 - 270 paired with a Canon 40D (for dry days with decent light!) so leaning towards the 90 f2. In your opinion would this be a better choice for Street?

Hope you well Phil. Great conversation my friend… i am on the same boat…started in the 90s with Nikon, and over the years i moved slowly to fujifilm xt2 and xt3… absolutely fall in love with it. I was actually getting more work recognition than my full frame work. I still have those fujifilm cameras , and yes they are slow and have less technology that the new stuff, but I don’t need it for my work… i thunk people chase technology and autofocus and forget that you don’t really need that, at least I don’t and i did master the cameras potential. Also work with older lenses , 23.1.4 , 35 1.4 and 56 1.2 and don’t need any better. The colours are amazing, that I’m using my Nikon less and less and like you i have a bad back from carrying heavy cameras since 1998. Keep cool brother
