Fuji, please give this guy a credit! I am another person who converted from Canon to Fuji. I remember my colleague few years ago showed me pictures made with Fuji X-T1 and I was blown away. I really enjoy color science and I think this was one of the reasons to look into Fuji realm. Because of this channel I finally did it. Enjoyed the video Phil👍 Looking at choices for my next Fuji lens. Was considering a WR rated telephoto as an “add on” for my 35mm f2 and 16mm f1.4 for some street photography however, I already have a Tamron 18 - 270 paired with a Canon 40D (for dry days with decent light!) so leaning towards the 90 f2. In your opinion would this be a better choice for Street?

Hope you well Phil. Great conversation my friend… i am on the same boat…started in the 90s with Nikon, and over the years i moved slowly to fujifilm xt2 and xt3… absolutely fall in love with it. I was actually getting more work recognition than my full frame work. I still have those fujifilm cameras , and yes they are slow and have less technology that the new stuff, but I don’t need it for my work… i thunk people chase technology and autofocus and forget that you don’t really need that, at least I don’t and i did master the cameras potential. Also work with older lenses , 23.1.4 , 35 1.4 and 56 1.2 and don’t need any better. The colours are amazing, that I’m using my Nikon less and less and like you i have a bad back from carrying heavy cameras since 1998. Keep cool brother

awesome story man. yeah fuji changed the game for me. I understand needing to upgrade when things start to fall out of relevance for your paid work, but chasing the newest thing all the time is exhausting. thats why i still have an iphone 11 haha

I shot the X-T2 for 4 wedding seasons. I loved the size and weight. It was fantastic. It did struggle in dark rooms, even with the larger AF point size. But there were features (1/32000s - which was way more useful than I ever thought it would be), that weren't available on any other camera system at the time. I used to take that camera and a lens everywhere. Great for weddings, great as a travel camera. I switched to the Nikon Z6 II, it's been very solid as a wedding camera - as much as people complain about the AF quality, I absolutely LOVE it. ....BUT.....I just don't take it with me anywhere outside of weddings. The few times I have, it still reminds me of my old brick of a Nikon D3s - it's just not fun to travel with. ... I've had those Z6 II's for three years, and ready to move back to Fuji with the X-T5. Ready to buy one, and grab an 18mm f/1.4, as I'm a sucker for the 28mm focal length. Give it go for a while, and see what happens. ...even if it's just my "FamCam"...

Hi Phil, your set up is the natural result that is obtained through common sense systematically applied. But I think that the most valuable equipment is the one between the camera's viewfinder and the back of your head. You are inspirational to many from different perspectives! Go on! 10x

Great video! I love your honesty and approach. This is the first video I have seen of yours and looking forward to checking out more of your content. I currently own a Pentax 645Z and while I love this camera and the image quality there is a lot to be desired as, new technology becomes available specifically when it comes to auto focus, tethered, shooting, and the ability to transfer files to my phone for immediate sharing. This is one of the cameras I am considering as I shoot a lot of portraiture however, also do some landscapes and street scenes. What are your thoughts about post processing and the flexibility of the files? The files that come out of the 645Z can be pushed and pulled so far that I could take an image that looks black and raise the exposure and other levels and see full detail. Your thoughts on this are greatly appreciated. Thank you again.

Cameras move in waves. Alot of youtubers gets gears for free to try out so their hype I need to take it with a grain of salt. Yet , people look at their productions and they start to flock to that gear but in the end it's not even meant for their work flow. Having "GAS" after watching these youtubers are pretty dangerous. This isn't a real statistic but what I go buy everyday is to create beautiful photography it's 90% creativity and feel and 10% gear.
