I have a Warwick RockBass Corvette 5-string in burgundy transparent satin, and I like it. It plays well and has a nice growl if I set it correctly. I use a pick sometimes, but mainly play finger-style. planting my thumb on the 5th string, neck pickup, or neck, depending on how I want it to sound.

I have a RB vett $$ and a RB LX4, I love both very much! The LX4 I upgraded the pups and preamp to EMG's and wow! Mfer is on steroids! The $$ is perfect the way it is. It's got some heft, it resonates a wonderful tone. I'm thinking about picking up a pro series or a German made. If the "cheap Chinese" version is this great, I cannot imagine how much better the pro series is!

As a bass player myself in a couple of bands in my unimportant opinion they both sound great, but that's considering listening at through cell phone, I hear a few more highs and meds with the black Warwick as compared to the blonde, it's possible that the black Warwick May cut through the mix more and abandoned certain situations, but they both sound great I don't think you could go wrong with either one or get both.

Never cared for a jazz. Too scooped and springy sounding. Rickenbacker are better tone wise.
