Tad frosty now. Minus 7 down here in NE Vic this morning. I bet the frost will bring the lambs on.

All the lambs this year have been tiny even if they have been on time. So I think it’s from the long dry season we have had. And everyone needing to feed out all the time etc

The camels - they do make me laugh - so what's with the bullocks keep breaking the gate? Perhaps they're lonely - although, did you say there was hay they fancied? Always something to keep you on your toes. Hope the lambing is going well, although it's got very frosty... Keep well - best to the Kelpies!

Mid west WA is mostly dry except for some storms bringing scattered showers and sone ok rain. At our place dry as. 20mm since September last year. All the sheep feed is in a silo and can’t sell sheep even if we wanted to. Good to see it looking good over there.

Do you still have your Thistle-Eaters? I'd say it's still pretty dry down in NW Tassie, beautiful, but a drop of water wouldn't go amiss! Interesting to hear about your Granddad - and all that fencing - that's a huge amount of work. In the '70's. my Dad bought an old dairy farm in SW England and most of the fences were held up with baler twine, and I don't think they'd really done any hedging for donkey years - you'd almost dread the phone ringing that someone would be asking if those were your cows out on the main road? Or headed into the village! Now you're more like to see solar panels than milk cows, or even sheep. Things ain't what they used-2-b! Have a g'd 'un.

Please watch Sheep/Shepherd and see if you can get funds in Your direction. I’m not against him, it money doesn’t go far these days. You deserve some funds, too.

There is some genetics to number of offspring. Another way to working the percentage up would be to keep back only ewe lambs that were twins themselves.

Got a question for you. Growing up on the farm in the 1960/70s we had corriedales and a small mob of southdowns for the table. Beautiful meat sheep. But I can"t remember the last time I spotted a southdown anywhere. Is it not a commercially viable sheep? I understand the wool is not worth much but for a meat sheep I thought it could still be viable

I hate that grass, I call it barbed wire grass! The Rosellas are enjoying eating the seeds at the mo. I don't know what it's called. At around 11:30 your video starts buffering, with that annoying Ad (Is your video running slow...?) And I can't get passed it - the rest of your vid is there - just won't play. Try agai8n tomorrow! Is there rain on the way? Your ground looks like our old soil, full of boulders & that foul clay which turns to concrete in the summer. Oh the joys! Glad we don't have to make a living from it!
