Mike. It looks like you have lost a lot of weight.... I hope you are doing well. Take care, it is very hot outside.
Thanks for noticing. I have lost 12 kilos due to intermittent fasting. I hope I am healthier. Thanks for your note and kind message. It is very hot today!
@@MikeMatsuno Glad to know it is intentional. I need to get rig of about the same amount! With your new health, and a bit of training, you will be able to climb those steep inclines up to the bridges on the Shimanami Kaideo ..... even with an old Mamachare bike!! LOL! All the best to you, and take care.
Hi, are there storage facilities for big luggages?
I wish I was Japanese
Looks mad good
Can you grow these in the usa? Looks really sweet
When does it snow in Hokkaido? I plan to go there next February somewhere in the 2nd week. It should be snowing then right?
Yes, definitely. The second week of February is usually the coldest time of the year, so the Sapporo Snow Festival is held during that time.
@@MikeMatsuno Thank you so much for the reply... Do you happen to know if it normally snows in Tokyo around the same time as well? I plan to go to Tokyo first then go to Hokkaido
@@notme6753 It rarely snows in Tokyo, maybe 10 days a year. But if it does snow, it will in January and February. But don't count on snow in Tokyo.
@@MikeMatsuno Thank you so much once again! Would be nice to experience Tokyo covered in snow like from the videos I saw... If not then it's fine too at least there is still Hokkaido for me to experience snow... So excited!
Watching your videos from India. Nice presentation.
great video
this is very informative ! thank you. i cannot seem to find videos on UA-cam about the Car Buying Experience of Japanese New Car Dealerships. I was only able to find yours on used cars. I'm from Canada
It's the best explanation video about how to take a bath in japan. Ive subscribed you !!!
As another has said, the link no longer works. Would you provide the brand and model of your blender? Appreciate it!
So I have a perfect example of how bad English is being taught in Japan. Quick background I am American, my wife is Japanese and our son is mixes and can speak both English and Japanese. He went to a Japanese elementary school for a month over the summer and he was corrected on how to say English words. My son was called and asked to say this word 13. He said thirteen like an English speaker, but his teacher and the other students looked at him weird as well as the teacher, the teacher kinda corrected him to say tha teen. So it kinda shows not even wanting to try and get away from the Japanese versions of a word.
I love Japanese curry. Indian curry makes my stomach hurts.
natto is awesome, takes some getting used to but its really good once you get the taste for it
Welcome to my weather here in Alabama. Hot, humid and taxing on your health.
Is it cheaper to buy a car in Japan direct from 2nd hand car dealership or buy direct from the many Japan auction house in the country? Any advice and tips will be greatly appreciated.
Is there actual scientific evidence for 1. Japanese rice being the best. 2. Japanese rice cookers cooking rice the best way. Because I suspect there isn't. It's just personal preference and Matsuno's ancestral pride.
Yes, my evidence is anecdotal. Almost all of my videos are based on anecdotal evidence.
@@MikeMatsuno Thank you for your response. Have a good day.
We need to make bathroom like this in USA. My bathroom has a wall separating the toilet from the tub., but most don't.
Mike, did you move to Canada? You keep asking Hiroki questions about "come/coming" to Canada (not go/going) so you must be there! Is it a permanent move or will you be coming back to Japan?
No, I am still in Japan. It is just a figure of the way I speak. Sorry if it misled you into thinking I was in Canada.
@@MikeMatsuno you are not wrong, Mike!
Regards from Germany. 🙂
Cheers from Canada !!
A great communicator, thank you.
Thank you for explaining Japanese bath culture so freely! It's really interesting to see the difference between the western "necessity" of washing yourself and the Japanese "ritual" of relaxation! I'd also be very interested in proper behavior and etiquette in a Sentou or Onsen.
Hi Mr.Matsuno how do i cook rice to make a cold rice vegetable salad i just destroy it every time its like eating a white blob.
I think the F word not only stands for Fair but also for Fail. The Japanese as an individual does not want to make a decision that could possibly lead to failure. If one makes a mistake as a group, then the responsibility is shared by the group. Like you said no one wants to be that nail that sticks out. It can be frustrating as an American to deal with a conformist society.
ToTo all the Way...I stay at the Waikiki Prince which has one in every room.
Mahalo Bruddah
That’s why I shower. It never made sense to me to soak in your own filth. We should adopt the Japanese culture of bathing. 🇨🇦
Ah, the Einstein "definition of insanity" line. That actually wasn't a quote of him, and it's also not the definition. That line comes from from 80s pulp novel :D But I do agree! As much as I like living in Japan, some of the official/authority processes can get really frustrating coming from a western country. well, here goes nothing :D
I know some people that would say, that if your subordinates believe you are the best boss, you are not a good manager.
Japan did send students abroad, but that was after they were forced to open to the world. I guess after Commodore Perry they could not let that happen again. Those students brought back all the knowledge to Japan and they industrialize. Japanese is not a very easy language to learn.
I’m wanting to propose in Japan and I’m thinking Sapporo is the place to be
Where in Sapporo? Pick a special spot! ;). Very happy for you!
I hope he brings up the rebate exporters get when they export a car out of japan
Japanese culture can teach us so much. for the better of the world. For those who can put others before their self ❤An altruism and understanding not seen since the roman times. Amicitiae nostrae memoriam spero sempiternam fore.
Can you buy a car in Japan to take it to your own country? What are the requirements?
Am so pleased to have come across your vlog. Really appreciated your share. The information presented & shared was invaluable. Thank you so much.
I am pleased to hear that you liked the video and information. Since I went on my first trip to the Shimanami without knowing anything, I wanted to at least make people aware of what they were getting themselves into. It is not always easy in rural Japan. I also have a playlist of 7 other long form videos on the Shimanami: ua-cam.com/video/Stc7y4m9xOE/v-deo.html
Mike.... Thanks for the update on your earlier trip with your friends... I really want to "do the Shimanami" this fall, if at all possible. Work and projects at home kept me from doing it last year, but I will begin planning again. Don't forget to remind your viewers about the Shimanami Toso Map set....it is really super.
The best rice cooker is a dedicated rice cooker donabe, kumoi kiln and igayaki double lidded rice cooker donabe. I bought a Nagatani-en Kamado san 3 gou rice cooker, it takes the same time to cook rice as with an electric one, but the results are better than anything else, the aroma is enhanced by the clay.
Bureaucracy at it's best. When it's not covid, now they have posters with bird flue, encefalitis musschitos monkey pox. Fearporn😢. I hope all this stops soon. But...customs clearing today took 4h and we are not in covid times. Ridiculous
The Japanese are at least 200 years FRONT
Few questions for clarification. 1. So when you’re sitting on the bath stool. You clean everything (butt and nether region) in front of everyone? 2. Can you use soap in the sink above the toilet? 3. Since cOVID I’m so over the top about germs. Are the tubs allowed to be cleaned with bleach between uses because you said that the water is usually reused. (Sorry if any of these questions seem insensitive)
Very helpful information about buying a car in Japan!
Carlos has a black belt in judo. It seems that traditions connect the oceans. It will help ensure the safety of facilities. It will help protect important certification agencies, aviation, waterworks, medical institutions, and early childhood education. The Peruvian el condor pasa song is famous, and it feels somehow nostalgic. (^^) I also had the potato Inca Awakening potage soup. Thank you for always contacting me, Mr. Matsuno. \^^/
As an Indian....I say you japanese keep that myth alive. I ONLY KNOW one Kind of ...."Curry" and that is Kadhi (look it up)
納豆ー素晴らしい^_^!
Mike....Get a clip-on mic to take care of the audio part of you studio. Watch your video.....
Japan seems ill prepared for it's rapidly ageing population. There seems to be a lack of care facilities, mental health assistance etc. Re: efficiency. The first time I used the self checkout at Uniqlo I was shocked when I dumped an armful of clothes into the bin and it instantly scanned all the items for me, no individual scanning necessary. I have great admiration for the humility and omotenashi of the Japanese people.

Hello sire may I know which kei car is good for second hand in Philippines?
Thank you for the nice video! Do you know if Yum Asia is a good brand too? Also, could you recommend a rice cooker available in Germany and which brand of rice is best?
