I put higher voltage on more toys primarily using a 0-30V bench power supply. But some toys required even more voltage to die! I used a Variac with a full bridge rectifier (input 230V) when I needed more than 30V.

Also some overloading with beautiful sparks and magic smoke. With RPM measurement. I'm using a variac as my power source.
