I agree it is a lot of money. But for me producing music it's a real-time saver. The Pa5x is a totally different system, but I have had some of my styles from my Pa1000 work on the Pa5x so I think some of your Pa4x Styles should work on the Pa5x. As for the Matrix, I hardly use it. The only thing I use a lot on the Pa5x is the Chord Sequencer. It is a real game changer, at least for me. I can write a song using the chord sequencer and then play it back on a large monitor for practice and or recording. I think Korg was trying to compete with Genos when they built this thing. It is not an all-in-one machine, and in fact, I use it only for arrangements or quick compositions. I use my Korg Nautilus and a few other modules if I want just a keyboard or synth sounds. Sorry, I have not found any way to edit the Chord Sequence in the Pa5x. You can edit the style step by step when you go to Rec / Style Edit / Menu / Event Edit. The only way to edit your sequence is to do in a software program and then import the midi file to the Pa5x. A trick I learned when recording a Chord sequence is to look at the 4 beat lights and the bar number below to keep you in time. It seems that the beats on the sequence screen are accurate when playing back the sequence but not so accurate when recording.

There is in a way. When you go to Rec /Style Edit you will see "Resolution" list below the part of the style you are going to record. Default is High, but you can adjust it from 8th notes to 32nd notes. Also, what I do is record what you want then while in Style Edit mode, go to Menu / Event Edit and there you can dial in the notes to what ever you want. I have even created tracks by just using the Event Edit page.

Yes, you have to write the sequence with the transposer set to zero. If you transpose first, when you play a note, it will record that note transposed and not the notes you are actually playing.

Normal contact cleaner is NOT safe for faders. That is why I use this stuff. It is made for faders. But, even if you use this cleaner, try it with 1 fader first to see if it works before doing the rest of your faders.

You are right. Sometimes I detune the accompaniments and not detune the whole keyboard. For some styles, that even sounds better. I even tried to install firmware version 1.2.1, and it still acts the same. I firmly believe that this Korg Pa5x has more potential than Korg is allowing it to have.

It stands for Upper Keys 1, Upper Keys 2, and Upper Keys 3. It refers to the sounds that you can put on all the keys that are above the split. When all three buttons are pressed, you can play all three of those sounds at the same time. Or select one of the three, and that sound will be played. If no buttons are selected, then there will be no sounds on the key bed from above the split, including any Midi signal to another device.

Yes, the Pa5x HDMI out will work with a monitor without any equipment. You do have to go to Settings / Audio Video / Video Out / SYNC / 800x600. I use it all the time when I record chord sequences.

At this time, there is no software to link the Pa5x to your software. But you can connect your software to the Pa5x via Midi through Midi 5pin connection or USB. Go to the Korg site and download the user manual, which will give more info on Midi and the cc# codes. For me I use the outs of the Pa5x to record 6 tracks of audio right into my DAW system.. Drums 1,2 outs, bass guitar 3,4 outs and L,R outs all other accompaniments. Take care my friend.

Yeah, I have had that same problem. I think they do that so that the Style parts will not be loud enough to overload or distort. I sometimes have to drop all the other accompaniments to make things seem more balanced. This is why I say work on creating a Style library in order to create different variations of that Style so that you can easily access it later when you need it.

Yes, you can use the touch screen, but it isn't as fast and accurate. I can toch something with my left hand and use the wheel with my right hand so much faster.

@@ursullavandenbord2322 I knew you could do it via Midi. But thats great that they will allow you to use the USB port. Also, look in the the "User Manual" for the codes of each parameter you can change. It will also help you when going to the "Event Sheet" which you can edit. Take care my friend.

I don't think so. As far as I know, Korg has not developed an interface for the Pa5x yet. You can control some things on the Pa5x via Midi.

You can't change the mp3 once it is recorded. You can start and stop it with foot control, but it will only play the mp3 as recorded. You can also change the tempo without changing the pitch. But when you play the style and you add fills or breaks or change versions, all those changes will be recorded if you're creating an mp3 from that style. Even the sounds from the pads of The Matrix will be recorded on that mp3. Everything coming out of the left and right outputs of the keyboard will be recorded when creating an mp3. 👍😎

@jonmicheals621 ok, sir, I am looking for something similar to yamaha Genos' audio style. You can add many lopps drums and create and add bass and make style, play them from USB. But in this case , I have loop mp3 drums. Can I make fills and brake to another player 2 from Factory and play them together, but when I press fill, will mp3 loop stop from player 1 ? Please

You cannot save the Matrix Pads set to a keyset. You can only save the four pads on the deck of the keyboard to a keyset. You watched my video part 2. Here is the video of part 1. If you can get to them, yes. But... Make sure you are using Deoxit F5 for faders. Some contact cleaners could make it worse. Also, spray a little at a time and wait a few minutes. If it is getting better, less noise, go ahead and continue. Another thing to watch for. You might need a flush point or drain point. If a lot of debris is in the fader, you want to have a place for it to go and not be trapped inside the fader. Take care.👍😎

Thanks for getting back to me Jon. I watched this video of yours to prompt me to message you. I did not help me since you are talking about the line on and off. I am getting the sound but my keyboard triggers other samples in my external sampler when I change the Keyboard set (on of four choice for each style).

@@anamraficorp.7343 Check to see what Midi channel your external device is working with, or if it accepts multiple channels. Then go to Settings/Midi/Midi Out Channel, you will see that you can send different keysets to different Midi Out Channels by selecting what channel you have selected. So, if Upper 1, is going to channel 1, Upper 2 is going to channel 2, and Upper 3 is going to channel 3 this is what you have. When you select a keyset that Upper 1 is active and Upper 2 and Upper 3 are not active. Then the keyboard will only send a midi signal to channel 1. But if you select another keyset and Upper 1 is not active and Upper 2 and Upper 3 are active. You will now send Midi signals to channel 2 and 3. Go back and watch the video again and you will see that turning the Keysets on or off will also control the Midi signals too. I hope this works, let me know if it does.

As far as I know, Korg doesn't have a way to use the Pa5x as an interface. You can run your second keyboard via Midi, and then run the audio of that keyboard into the Pa5x. This would alliw you to play and record that keyboard from the Pa5x.

@@jonmicheals621 Until today it was 1.1 I now have 1.2 . The process is described in the on line manual. In song book press the 3 lines at the top. Select preferences and in set list view change from Tile to List using the wheel. You then have an easy to edit list.
