Just recently became interested in the PA5x, and luckily found your channel with GREAT, concise and clear instructions about various aspects of the PA5x. Really appreciate all the work you have done on them! Hope you will be publishing more, too. 😀Subscribed!
I really appreciate your quick response. Yeah, like you I hope we can do that. Would be nice to have a cut & paste option in the next update. Oh yeah you got me saying “hello friends and future friends” to everybody I meet now. Thanks a lot. Maybe it could be the hook for a song. Take care.
Thats really cool. I started saying that long, long time ago. I never looked at followers or subscribers that follow me as that, followers. I always looked at my followers or subscribers as my... Friends or Future Friends. Hey, we are all in this together. Take care my Friend. 👍🎹👍
I was wondering if it was possible with the Pa5x to combine different sequences such as a Verse sequence / Chorus sequence / Break sequence … then combine (merge) all of the sequences together making one chord sequence (one total song)? Without going to a DAW.
That sounds like a great idea, but as of right now you can't do that. You have to write out the entire song. I am getting used to it, but I hope in the next firmware update they allow us to do a simple copy/paste. I will say that the timing of the Pa5x is just about spot on. When I create loops, I make sure the tempo of the Pa5x is the same as my software it seems to work out. So, you could write out your parts on the Pa5x, then trim them in your DAW like a loop. Then cut/paste them into your song with your DAW.
@edlesniak2475 Not at this time. When you hit the record button, it automatically deletes the chord sequence. The good thing is, that you can now edit your chord sequence. 👍🎹👍
Hi John, I'm struggling with controlling the arranger from my daw. I want to just send the chords to PA5x that must then control the full accompanement similar to when i'm playing and generating the chords with my left hand. Is that even possible? I'm trying hard, but can't get it to work? Do you know how to do it, or if it can be done? Regards Thomas
@mrthomasheder At the present time Korg doesn't offer any software to link the Pa5x to it your DAW. I do have a video on how I use my DAW with a Pa5x. I do control some sounds using an external keyboard via MIDI, via 5 pin MIDI cable. So first, find out if your sound card on your system has a 5 pin MIDI out, and run the MIDI out of that card into the Pa5x. Then make sure all the MIDI channels are the same on the keyboard and your software. You might have to turn the MIDI clock to external MIDI. I know the Pa5x will accept external MIDI signals, because I sometimes run my electric drums via MIDI into the Pa5x, if I want the drum sound same as the style. Good Luck my friend. 👍🎹👍
Hello Jon, I need to make a style on my pa5x but i can’t. It’s midi file and it’s called Game of Thrones. If i send the midi file, can you make that style for me?! Best regards, Ed
@edikart4338 To be honest with you, I've never done that before, convert a Midi file into a style. So I'm going to have to look into that. I would suggest you bring that Midi file into the 16 track Midi sequencer of the Pa5x. Just make sure that the Midi instruments on your Midi file correspond with the instruments in the pa5x. I'm I'm going to seriously look into this. I'm a little busy right now. But if you don't hear from me in a week or two please send me back a comment and hopefully I'll have an answer for you. Here's a link to a video on the 16 track sequencer. This might help you.
Thanks this has helped me.
Your welcome!

Is it possible to overdub on a already saved chord sequence?
