What version of Krita are you running? Older versions dont have tweening implemented.

Yeah to be upfront I'm not proud of this video, I need to remove it anyway. At the time it looked a bit sketchy to me and looking back on that hindsight is certainly 20/20.

Glad I found Krita. Been meaning to get some shirt ideas off the ground and on Cafepress as royalties. On short-term disability now and had to get a loan from family because my doctor refused to sign my paperwork after knowing I can't work, meaning no paycheck from my short-term disability company. So I have a FREE art program, Krita, that's just as good as Photoshop and can make shirts for free and still get some money off of it. Some money is better than nothing when you're not getting in any of your own money. Glad we have Krita.

You shouldn't have to uninstall any previous versions at all to move to newer versions as the installer not only migrates version to version but it also allows you to use any .kra files created with any 5.x.x. version. Also sorry for not getting to you fast enough its been 2022 has been very interesting to say the least.

I'm not sure what you mean by the lines getting darker. Would you please lay out what you are trying to do?

I would make use of the curves editor in the 5.0 release of Krita and keyframe out the opacity in such a way that the object flashes in and out like you mentioned.

Not wanting to animate frame by frame is a perfectly fine attitude towards Krita in this regard. With that being said I would consider Krita being a a jack of all trades but it is absolutely the master of none. In the grand totality of the software Krita can do so much for being free to install. But Krita does allow you to do what you want albeit rudimentary. In the 5.0 release of Krita you can perform a motion tween. What a tween does is take two values and fill in the space in between. 4.x.x versions of Krita only allowed you to tween using opacity, in the 5.0 release you can tween based on transform, scale, etc. in addition to opacity. Sadly VEGAS Pro has fallen off in popularity since Sony sold it to Magix. Shame since VEGAS is quite possibly the most underrated NLE out there, it can do so much with so little.

I chalk that up to me not being very consistent in 2021, but I really want to grow the channel so much more so stay tuned for more videos down the line.

Krita does not have a align to anything built in, you'll need to do it manually using the mirror tool

If it were me I'd play around with everything just to see what it does. That's what I love about big releases.

No worries it's all constructive criticism. I have autism and one thing I struggle with is my prosody which is the rhythm at which I speak. For me I tend to speak faster than my brain can think of things to say. As a result I can sound incoherent at times. As for Android support id again suggest Krita's GitHub page and open a pull request to get Krita ported to Android. That's the beauty of open source software is unlike closed source you can directly influence the development of the program.

He does talk very fast, but UA-cam has no trouble auto-generating accurate subtitles, so it's at least coherent. If you slow down the video to 0,9x or 0.8x speed it might help. I use a browser extension so I usually speed up or slow down videos as needed.

Unfortunately I'm not very familiar with installing Krita on any platform other than Windows, macOS, or Linux. If it isn't a direct download from the Play store I can't help beyond that. The only thing I can suggest is see if the package you need is on GitHub and see if someone opened up an issue or pull request. The should point you in the right direction.

Are you trying to keep your resources or the .kra files you've already been working with. If its the latter as long as its from a version older than 5.0 they should import just fine. As for resources the new management system breaks compatibility with Krita 4.x.x resources so you'll have to import them back manually.

There is no specific tweening option when working with a given frame you must tween it manually in the animation curves panel. If you aren't using Krita 5.0 yet you should as it provides a wealth of new features to the animation workspace as a whole so look out for a follow up to the video I did some time ago detailing features in the beta of Krita 5.0 I'll kinda go over in a basic sense the new capabilities in the curves docker that'll help out.

@@chrislee4625 thanks turns out I didn’t update my krita to krita 5.0 yet video helped me out a lot when I finally got it!

I highly recommend you play with the G'MIC plugin. There are a few hidden gems in the version for Krita. Use the 5.0 beta if you don't want to have to fiddle with linking it up manually.

Not 100% sure, due to Krita's open source nature you may be able to find a iPad build on GitHub if there isn't already a community build on the App Store. All the same I'd highly advise against finding a build on GitHub because that can easily expose you to malware.
