Had this car for 3 days, had to return it due to the fact that the hyrdoagen cost was 150 for my first fill up. (tank wasnt even all the way empty) Tank was supposed to fill up to 400 miles...only went to 213. Dont buy a toyota mirai!!

My 36 year old corvette gets more miles than that on a tank.

At 180 per fillup and if you spend an average of 400 mi/week, your card willl run out in less than 2 years….

lol @ the cucks who bought a fuel cell car. The Japs and GM were the only ones who pushed this in the early 2000s . I can’t believe anyone not in Japan the only country with any real hydrogen infrastructure bought a fuel cell car.

$40 for that range, is still stupidly expensive compared to home-charging an EV, I fully charged my 77kwh EV for less than $3 yesterday (EU/DK).

again, you still need trucks to transport the hydrogen fuel, rebuild a lot of refuel stations, maybe good for commercial use. I’m happy home charging EV skipping the trip to gas station for local use.

People sure are willing to bend over for alot of shafting just to have some new fangled thing to be noticed with. No way would I own on of these, worse than a EV with even less places a person can go. My time is worth way too much to waste an hour of it refueling that is just insane, I have a life and living to earn, people will do anything to keep these new car companies in business selling overpriced junk..... Oh and not having a car payment cannot be beat.

Diesel in my area is $4.49/gal right now. A gallon of diesel weighs about 7.1pounds or 2.21kg. So a Kg of diesel only costs about $2.00.

My VW passat "daily" gets about 550/600 miles out of a tank. Last fill up @ 3.29 was less than $60 dollars. Basically a 3:1 for what this guy spends.

This is a good video. However, the one thing you are missing is that subsidizing Hydrogen is wasting money because it is so inefficient. Each tax dollar can go so much further(3 to 5 times further in fact). If you just put the electricity straight into a battery your tax dollar goes so much further. The government in the US knows that Hydrogen is inherently wasteful that is why they don’t invest in it. Water is inert from an energy perspective. Wasting energy trying to store energy by converting inert water into Hydrogen is not financially responsible.

The price at the pump is not representative of the actual $/€/kg cost of H2, a lot of these prices are being subsidised by public grants and/or the costs are being absorbed by the network operator in the hopes of being able to achieve those costs in future by scaling, cutting costs, etc and just taking the hit short term. A Danish operator recently shut down because they're not profitable, NEL have spun off their network into a separate company because it isn't profitable to operate either. Part of the reason that costs ballooned in California is that the LCFS credit scheme which acts as a subsidy is suddenly worth a lot less to operators than it used to.
