Hi everyone! I'm Cary Huang. This is my channel to post whatever I want. There's really no structure or standards here, which is why I'm calling it "lazy"! If you want a deeper explanation for why this channel is just whatever I want, and not that specific "automatic lip-syncing project", please watch this video in full:

If there is no single assignment that can make you succeed there should be no single assignment that fails you.
Schools are built that way because employers who will hire graduates already have sketches of those “A tier” projects and they mostly want obedient, yet qualified personnel to execute tasks that have to be done in a precise way they want
Just as you can see the red flags of worshipping Sam and all the egos involved and many can’t it’s the same with these scams. They are surprisingly easy to se if you don’t follow the herd.
I worry that individual UA-cam channels can be a bit like your restaurant example in that a viewer won't watch a video if there's a chance they watched a bad one from that channel in the past. But having multiple channels or other projects is better suited to risk taking. I'm using this video as inspiration to finish a writing project
just better aestheticize the class
its in my reccommends
"Grades aren't that important" -Guy who went to stanford. Yea ok great advice thanks buddy
Personally I interpret academics vs aesthetic as the value differences. In academics there's usually some codes of ethics and rules you need to follow (proper citing of sources, proper display of some results) vs the aesthetic side usually being more hedonistic and having less regards for morals (as an example someone repainting a vintage item so it can match the environment a person is creating for themselves, or someone forcing engineers to make a product that while looks cool is absolutely not something that should be made to be sold). Then again like all things this also is fluid since everyone has different perspectives.
This video has motivated me that maybe I need to comment my experiences. I've been lurker for a while, but these discussions are very valuable in insight to me
Same, being in this small slice of the internet where we can all discuss our experiences, similarities and differences is something very special.
What a cool channel you have
misleading... there were not two thousand and twenty four videos........... disappointed................................

On transit, nyc area is like one of the only real transit cities in america. Lots of people give it crap but it still works.
2:23 I work at a factory and the company understands there's bad days. As long as you put the effort in to fix the issue and something didn’t break because you acted in a dangerous/obviously wrong way it's not put against you. Instead if there's multiple days like that the question will be what's wrong: is something damage that needs fixed? Is someone training? Are we not accounting for temp/humidity change? Is there an issue with the process? The worker only gets blamed if other workers are reporting them not paying attention or all those other questions were asked and it wasn't those
Regarding the discussion at 20 mins in: Several of my favorite youtubers are professors in their day to day job or have a phd in the subject they make videos on. Cool Worlds, Thunderfoot, Isaac Arthur, to name a few, but they often have a much smaller reach than the more aesthetics focused channels which I suppose was your main point there. As for urban planning being broken in North America, I really hope that'll change in this century and given what I've seen among people our age, I believe it will, but it'll likely still take at least 30 to 50 years before our younger generation is in power and capable of making those necessary changes. Which is why I'm currently in Europe instead of Canada and don't really want to go back.
Nearly happy new year
Shook to hear my name in a youtube video from a comment I forgot I posted. Prompt for discussion: there is an interesting in-between of youtube and academia which is the podcast world. Obviously there is heaps of non-expert podcasts, but the ones in my feed like the Freakonomics Network, 99 Percent Invisible, the New Books Network are all founded on interviews with researchers who are often promoting their latest research or book and this promotion circuit operates as this really interesting, layman-targeted (in communication style), free, audio-first format for understanding the world better! I think it would be really cool to have the researcher-authors on these promotion circuits to also collaborate with youtubers to make videos related to their work. Some would be pretty clear cut, like economists working with Economics Explained, mathematicians with 3b1b, physicists with MinutePhysics, social scientists with PhilosophyTube etc etc. Obviously CrashCourse covers quite a lot of seminal research, but having this stronger connection between fresh and in-development work with the common person would help both enhance the perception of the academy as helpful to society and improve the communication skills of researchers, which are notoriously poor, and make their work genuinely more helpful. Happy to have big chats about this.
This is a pretty simple mindset issue. Seeing your grade as... anything... at the start is silly. Your grades accumulate; nothing more. There is a route sum and percentage at the start of the class and as you do projects, that sum increases. Every point you gain is permanently gained. Points you have not gained are not guranteed.

Epic. Some comments got answered like QNA! I'd Totally Enjoy This!
It's nice to get to know other people on the internet. It's not often I see big content creators do stuff like this, acknowledging other people's existence! Thank you, Cary for caring!
your idea is stupid
I made such a big mistake in my college applications. In middle school I built an 8 bit calculator in Minecraft, and I didn't mention it anywhere in my applications 😞
The British system gets this better. In England, your entire grade is a few exams at the end of the year. That means that throughout the year you can take risks on your homework, or blow off your homework to do your own learning or your own projects (which is what I did :P).
great video, thanks for sharing your thoughts :D
i did not expect cary swearing (AGAIN i see you cary teachs you time travel fanatic) lmao
most of the viewers on this channel are really inactive and dont like the videos or comment (including me, bar this very comment), but i hope you know there are literally thousands more people than you realise who really, really like this format of video established by "linkedin lunatics" i hope you continue to make them, i genuinely look forward to your next upload on here and watch each new video all the way through
this is actually my favorite channel of yours
i listen to your videos in the background like a podcast
Yeah, that's a good point. I recently read about how science has been having similar issues. We need more risk taking, and we should organize secioty more to be more friendly to risk.
Comment on the subway surfer trick: Its completely fine if you do it and its completely fine if you dont do it. All your style and preferences
the comment at 6:25 really spoke to me. ill tell people tjings i CAN do, but i barely have. what do i have to show for it? i watch yt on a separate account to posting so you wouldnt see it on here, but my main is a disparate wasteland because i cant finish anything
In my school, some of my history teachers actually played oversimplified videos in class and would pause to explain certain things, and I think that way more people in the class (this was in middle school btw) were engaged and interested in watching an oversimplified video about a topic rather than doing lessons and assignments on it.
Thats actually really cool
Wow, you're such my good friend!
Hey Cary, I've been a long time fan of yours and I just wanted to say thank you for all the amazing content you've made over the years! You've inspired me and I'm sure many others to get into programming - and AI/ML.
Oh
Hello
:O
At 2:27, it somehow finally dawned on me that you learned to code as a teenager. In retrospect, I really should have realised ages ago because of projects like GTTTATINT 100 and No Walking, No Problem!. How exactly *did* you learn to code? Incase you've already mentioned this before, feel free to just reply with where to look for what you said 😅.
just get started with something, imo if you feel like you have to ask this question to get started then you aren't really interested in coding; there are countless resources online
@Benethen_ I was more curious in how he had personally learned, rather than how I should start, so sorry if my comment came out that way!
@Benethen_a beginner is obviously gonna want an opportunity to hear how someone with experience did it, not knowing anything doesn't mean you aren't interested
@@m3nmin my point is there are many experienced people online who have shared their journey and how to get started - you just have to do *something* to get started, that's up to your drive
I'm not Cary but based on what I know about him he and his brother have been making games ever since elementary school using various coding platforms for kids, so I would suppose it all stems from that I learned how to code when I was like 9 because I wanted to make my own minecraft mods, so it's not really that surprising
RAMBLY? LIKE RAMBLEY RACCOON? FROM THE 2024 INDIE GAME INDIGO PARK?
