i had/have same problem. Toyota camry 2012 SE, started at 140k. warranty expired. shops wanted around $3k to fix. I added lube gard and it stoped for a bout a year. car has 170k now and i am about to add another lube gard . i never changed fluids as the car is pretty beat up

Cracked spark plug and only misfires when under a load because the spark plug doesn't spark only under a load. I had this same problem and changed the plugs to NGK Ruthenium 90220 manufacturer recommended to From the set gap of 0.044 regaping to 0.040

Are #5 injector/coil getting good power and ground? Might have a wire partially damaged.

Leaking high pressure fuel pump pull the oil breathers off the air intake and there’s one more behind the throttle body. Plug all 3 of them and watch the fuel trims if they return to normal the the high pressure fuel pump is leaking into crank case. Check oil for fuel smell and also level. And you can pull the intake manifold off and move the foam out the way and will see residue around the high-pressure fuel pump

Have you measured the exhaust manifold temp while it was under load to see if that cylinder 5 is colder than the rest?

VLOM. Replace the VLOM, these engines are notorious for those going out. They control the AFM lifters that deactivate. If I’m not mistaken number five is on that list.

Check the computer. Couple years ago i had to swap a pcm because of a misfire and it only did it under load. You said you did the cam but did you replace the cps?

Hello, I have a 2014 Camry with 95,000 miles and I just recently started to experience the shudder. I went to Toyota dealership and they are charging me a total of $3,900 for labor and torque converter. I have a question for you Miguel, would it help if I change the transmission fluid and only get get the transmission update? I really don't have the cash to pay the full amount now. How many miles do you think my transmission will last if I don't replace the torque converter? I would really appreciate if you answered my question. Thank you.

Great video. Back story, i was looking into a '14 V6 Camary SE, one owner and 37K mi at a local dealership in HI. I haven't driven it yet to see if it has the infamous shudder, butt..... after reading and seeing mostly YT videos and comments. I feel the juice just isn't worth the squeeze.

I was experiencing a torque converter shudder on my 2014 Camry LE. I performed 4 drain and fills with Castrol universal ATF/CVT fluid. On the last fill, I added two tubes of Lubegard shudder fix and a bottle of Lucas transmission fix. I then had Toyota update the transmission logic. The shudder is gone and the transmission is shifting like new. The car has 240000 miles!

No need to bleed? Will the air work itself out of the system? Asking for a friend
