FINAL THOUGHT - I think if you already had the first version of Govee's backlight there isn't enough difference to upgrade and spend the money. However, if you are trying to decide between the 2 i would recommend going with this new T2, or if you have a TV larger than 65" and have the old model upgrading to the 75""-85" T2 model would be a good idea. Hmmmm. That's weird. Do u have everything connected to the same internet? I'm just not sure. I've never heard this happen with ANY Govee products. Their products usually connect very well. Maybe delete the app, unplug everything, re-download, and then start over. If that doesn't work I'm not sure. You could reach out to Govee at support@govee.com and see if they have any suggestions. If they can't help make a warranty claim with them (or just return for another one if you're within the return period still). Sorry I can't be of more help. Let me know if u have any other questions... Good luck.

    Does the T2 backlight work on Samsung 70 inch ? Even tho it’s only for 55- 65

    • @threadchemistry
      @threadchemistry 24 дні тому

      The one I have in the video is for 75-85' TVs (unless I did a video for both. I can't remember) but yes it'll work. I'd recommend the 75-85' T2. Just wrap it around the outside edge as much as you possibly can so you have as little overlap as possible. If for some odd reason that doesn't work you could try the 55-65' version. I can't answer which would work better since this is the first I've heard of this situation, but regardless they will work out it just depends on which fits better. You don't want any extra space, and you don't want overlap so whichever version gets you closest is the one you want. Make sense??

    Hi there and thanks for the video. I just ordered the Govee backlights online for my 85” and I also bought the dual light bars not realizing they come attached. I feel silly because I thought I would be able to place them both in different corners of the living room to get that surround light effect but I realize now they can’t be separated. Again, I feel dumb for not researching it more but it is what it is and I plan to make it work somehow. I’m not going to put them on both ends of the television because that’s what the backlight is for so now I’m trying to figure out what to do with them. My goal is to strategically place them in a spot and try to stretch them apart as much as possible to get the most effects from the lights. I already have some ideas but I’m going to have to wait until later when it gets dark out. I know Govee has plenty of other stand alone lights which can be placed just about anywhere but for now I’ll just stick to what I have. Do you have any thoughts? I realize you have no idea what my living room looks like but do you have any ideas you can throw my way? Thanks in advance for replying and thanks for the highly detailed and thorough video. You make it look very easy. I can’t wait for nightfall to get this hooked up!! Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks!!

    • @threadchemistry
      @threadchemistry 26 днів тому

      Funny u say that. I didn't realize this either until after I made the video so what I did was I went and bought another set of the light bars. So I have 2 on 1 side and 2 on the opposite side. Both on each side came together just so I could get that surround effect. So I have a set of 2 on 1 side and a set of 2 on the other. Solved the problem but now I have the 2 extra wires which I wasn't a fan of in the first place. Could cover them with some ghost tape and paint but anyway that is 1 resolution if u want to spend the $ on another set. It does look pretty cool... So u don't have to take one of the lights off the wall and replace on the other side before placing the new set, just unplug one and inser that plug into a new one on the other side that way you don't have to tear off the light stips. Just unplug and re plug in new on other side.. make sense?

      @@threadchemistry Thanks for replying so quickly my friend! That’s a really good idea. I just noticed they just went on sale today so I think I will follow your advice and buy another pair. If ur Bluetooth isn't connecting i would assume it's either something to do with your devices or the hovee device. So if your Bluetooth is working everywhere else then it's possible you got a defective Govee device. Why didn't you use regular led light strips instead of the govee strip. Whats the difference?

    • @threadchemistry
      @threadchemistry 2 місяці тому

      Brightness, seamless color change, LED per meter, many reasons... Not saying you couldn't use a cheaper version but anyone can see a difference. Especially people with a trained eye. Plus I'm a huge fan of Govee. Having all Govee in my house makes for easy organization on my phone and in Alexa/Google/HA. Also, it's easier and more likely to run routines with all the lights at once so they can all work together.

    • @threadchemistry
      @threadchemistry 2 місяці тому

      Rope lights don't give you all the independent colors and options plus they're kinda bulky. They aren't very long. I bought 2 govee ropes and returned them bc I couldn't find a good place for them that would be better than LEDs. If I remember right, they're more expensive per foot also..

    I’ve heard the nano 4d works better for color reproduction and the delay it can have with on screen ques I’m not sure which one it’s so hard bevsue 99 percent of people doing reviews are sponsored and there’s a bunch to fake looking reviews online

    • @threadchemistry

      I'm not sponsored. I don't like nano. If you're looking for an upgrade the Phillips hue is the best I believe but not well enough for me to spend the enormous difference.. the hue is crazy expensive. I don't believe that about the nano though. They're very similar.

      I'm not sure what you mean. They only make 2 versions. 1 for 55"-65" TVs and 1 for 75"-85" TVs.. And btw you shouldn't cut that led strip. The camera records the color and sends it to the full strip so what you're cutting off should be part of the color otherwise it might not look right.

      I order all my stuff typically from Stahls. They have everything you need. And yes, I apply the adhesive 1 patch at a time.. so time-consuming but I haven't figured out any better way..

    I want to know how i set up the pm25 values there is a great range i dont know what should be min and what should be the max

    • @threadchemistry
      @threadchemistry 3 місяці тому

      Go into the app, select the air quality monitor in devices, click the settings gear icon in the upper right corner, scroll down to "More features/Breathe easier with air quality guardian" and select either, click the white cartoon looking box (the only option on this page) up top, scroll down to the bottom where you can select "Auto Run" and from there you can set your desired values. I hope that helps. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

    • @threadchemistry
      @threadchemistry 3 місяці тому

      I keep mine at full range, but you can adjust to whatever your desired values are. There's no right or wrong. Whatever makes you most comfortable.

    Would it work on a 42 inch tv. I don’t wanna get the lighter version but I also don’t wanna spend hundreds to upgrade my tv to a 55 inch

    • @threadchemistry
      @threadchemistry 3 місяці тому

      Yea I'm betting you could. Just place it as far out to the edges as possible. Maybe overlap what's left. Should be fine..

      I haven't tried it. But like I said you could just overlap it, or go get a bigger TV as they have 55" at Walmart now for under $100 bucks. Less than the Govee lights. Lol

    Can I use one gateway for sensors on 2 different floors (basement and 1st floor)? Or do I n need 1 gateway for each floor? Thx

    • @threadchemistry
      @threadchemistry 4 місяці тому

      You only need 1 gateway (depending on how big your house is, but it would have to be pretty large for 2 gateways I assume). I have my gateway down in a corner of my finished basement and 1 of thr ##$sensors is in my master bath which is on opposite sides of the house upstairs. So I don't think you would ever run into that issue unless you're Money bags McGee!! Haha

    What is the best blow setting? I just got one but I’m not sure to what speed I should put it. I live in a warm country. We get days of like 30 to 35 degrees Celsius. At night we are usually between 22 to 27 degrees. I sleep with an AC but my throat and nostrils usually feel very dry. So I do wonder what setting would be best 🤔

    • @threadchemistry
      @threadchemistry 4 місяці тому

      It's all personal preference. But the dryer it is the higher you want it especially if you feel it personally. If I were you I'd start high for a week or 2 and adjust from there to your liking

      You could also get one of their air quality monitors and you van actually link it to different devices to control the rate of flow as needed from air quality instead of adjusting it all the time.
