Bahahhha!! I always do that so the UA-cam Algorithm see's the comment. Good catch. You are the first person to ever notice that. haha. And THANK YOU for watching!! Much appreciated!! ))
Thanks for this helpful video. I had the same issue--I received an alarm on my phone when there was a drip but not when there was a leak. I wasn't able to resolve this with Govee. Have you been able to resolve? Thank you.
I actually just took the batteries out from the back and reset them and they were good to go. If you can't get yours working l, try and get a replacement set from govee if you can. And thank you were much.. ))
You only need 1 gateway (depending on how big your house is, but it would have to be pretty large for 2 gateways I assume). I have my gateway down in a corner of my finished basement and 1 of thr ##$sensors is in my master bath which is on opposite sides of the house upstairs. So I don't think you would ever run into that issue unless you're Money bags McGee!! Haha
@@threadchemistry THANK YOU so much! I bought the package of hub + 3 sensors, for the basement, then an additional 2 sensors without the hub, for the first floor. So, I'm going to keep the 2 additional sensors and set them up. Thanks, again - taking the time to reply is appreciated.
@@threadchemistry PS - watched a n umber of videos to set up the Govee Hub, etc. Your's was, by far, the best - easiest to understand and your instructions were inclusive and said w/confidence and knowledge. Gonna subscribe. Again, thanks.
That is the most unintellectual and irresponsible thing I have ever heard.. Putting it the nicest way possible. I don't even know where to start. These are about 90% cheaper than just a home insurance claim deductible. You don't even know if insurance will cover whatever it is, and have you not ever dealt with insurance? The headache alone....
@@threadchemistry Yes i have dealt with insurance. Yes most of the time water claim will be covered peril. If the leak is bad enough, you will be able to remodel your house completely and insurance will pay for all of it.
I will definitely be getting this in multiples. I'm not sure if there is an updated version of these or if it matters? I did subscribe to you channel thank you. Was looking at Rings water sensor but have to set up and buy alarm subscriptions no thanks on that.
Awesome man. Thanks for subscribing. This is the current model. You can buy in packs of 2, 3, 4, 5, or even 6 I believe. Ya, I have a subscription-free smart home. I hate those subscription traps also. Plus Govee is a really good manufacturer. Quality products for sure. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks again man..
@threadchemistry Not a problem, this is very helpful. I just jumped on their website. What's the difference between the GoveeLife Water Leak Detector and GoveeLife Water Leak Detector 2? Seems like distance increases are the change, I believe, and also new sensor design. I am not sure if that affects anything. Let me know what you think.
Wow, you know what. The "2's" are the new replacement. It looks like they just released them in September. I didn't know about these. From what I see from a quick look though would be the LoRa range or distance like u said, and voice assistant reminders. Other than that I'm not seeing anything. My guess is they're very similar. Govee just released a ton of new updated product models so I bet the "2's" are more of a revenue product to get/keep customers buying Govee.
But it's working bc I'm gonna get a set. Haha.. Ya, I noticed you can't do that also. Or pics. Kinda dumb. FYI if you go with the 2's get the '1 wifi gateway + 4 sensors, and also the '3 sensors' without the gateway. That gets you 7 sensors and a gateway and breaks down to the cheapest per device.. if you need that many, that is. Even the gateway + 6 is more expensive than the gateway + 4 individually.
Definitely one of those devices that are better to have and not need, than to need and not have!! Govee is a great brand..
Absolutely. That is exactly right. Couldn't have said it better myself!!
Well, I just purchased 10 sensors for two sites and I must say I love them !!!
Awesome! Glad you like them. Good to have and not need rather than not having and needing them. Hahh.
Those are nice. I enjoyed your little demonstration you did!! haha. Another good video! Thanks for continuing these great tutorials!!
Yea they're pretty great. Glad you liked my demo! Haha. Thanks so much!!
I didn’t think this one would interest me… but it has. Like Ryan N Ludwig said, better to have and not need. Thanks video creator Ryan for the review!

Thanks for this video. It helped me figure out the Govee poor written instructions.
Awesome! So glad it helped. Thanks you so much!
Curious if you could tell if toilet was using a lot of water due to the tank leaking water? or do they have another type for that?
I don't know of any that would work for a toilet. That would have to be a whole different device..

Yaaaaaaaas!! ))
Can I use one gateway for sensors on 2 different floors (basement and 1st floor)? Or do I n need 1 gateway for each floor? Thx

You're throwing money away. If there is a leak that is what home insurance is for.

With the end of the rainbow in your backyard. I don't understand why you aren't dumping water all over your house working on a remodel now.
@@threadchemistry It doesn't work that way but plastic connection to the refrigerator often does start to leak after few years.
Wow
