CAA Lifestyle
Приєднався 2 тра 2020
My name is Chabely. I'm a board Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant with a masters of science in anesthesia providing a glimpse into the CAA lifestyle.
A little about me:
I am a NYC native who always had an interest in medicine and pharmacology. I was heavily considering medical school and specializing in anesthesia until I learned more about advance practice providers in anesthesia. I graduated with my masters of medical science in anesthesia in 2021 and have worked two jobs since then as a board certified anesthesiologist assistant. I hope to raise more awareness about this awesome profession through this content. Outside of anesthesia, I am passionate about financial literacy and independence. I also love traveling and have a love/hate relationship with the gym.

How is education life balance or education work life balance while you’re at university for this course? I am curious what exactly happens in didactic period of this course, how many hours or days are the classess in a day and week. Could you please share your experience?

I’d like to know how he went from communications major to deciding on respiratory therapy school.
Wow! Fortuntate to be in USA
The lady's dad must hate his work so badly that he did not recommend it to his lovely girl.
@@Kencan254 she mentions she always wanted to do anesthesia even before knowing about this pathway. He saw an amazing opportunity that fit her interests and recommended it to her. And it was a great choice for her!
I love your videos! I’m a non-transitional student transitioning from being a Physical Therapist Assistant/ Athletic Trainer to AA school. Keep up the good work! Your videos are informative and inspiring!
Oh yeah ima have to meet my future wife in AA school too.
Inspiring videos for someone considering going back to school for anesthesiology.
The anesthesiologist assistant (AA) pathway was created to address the shortage of anesthesia providers. The pathway allows for prospective AA students with different science/medical backgrounds to become anesthetists after ~2-3 years of specialized training in anesthesia. In order to apply applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and must complete science pre-requisites. In Bruce’s case, he had to retake his science courses (I.e. biochemistry, anatomy, etc.) as pre-requisites must be taken within a few years of applying. The journey to becoming an AA requires many years of training but is well worth it for the end result of becoming an anesthesia provider.
With strategic planning, this couple will make more money than most anesthesiologists. Entrepreneurship is key to financial success and freedom/
Which state do they work in?
Bruce and Kameko are second career anesthesiologist assistants. They are a few years away from financial independence, which will allow them the TIME freedom to raise their child experiencing different cultures around the world. Learn more about where their journey started in part 1 of their story.
A career in medicine can be challenging, especially when caring for critical patients in the operating room. I’m extremely fortunate to have an incredible support system that helps me recharge every day and show up my best self for my patients.
It was my boyfriend’s first Michelin star restaurant + it was our first tasting menu together. We’re frugal in many categories but we spend more on groceries/dining experiences. The tasting menu was a beautiful experience with new flavor combinations and very refined dishes. However I would not necessarily recommend it because of the high price point. All in all I’m grateful to end 2024 experiencing something new, which was a major theme for me in 2024 ✨
Watching this video for inspiration🎉 my interview is tomorrow😅
@@Msmabintistar good luck!
How to enroll for AA and what is requirement for AA
how long it takes your name will appear in nccaa board verify after you passed the exam? Thank you
these are my two choices for my masters program and i’m currently almost done with my undergraduate so thank you for the video!!
This might sound silly, but could I become an Anesthesiologist Assistant if I am squeamish about poking people with needles? I was a Vet Tech for years and drew blood, assisted in surgeries and ran anesthesia for the pets, so I know I can do it with animals, but I wonder....just wondering your thoughts
Hi Chanel, this may be personal and I understand if you don’t reply but do you or your boyfriend make more money? Does it matter to you?
Hey, you said you didn’t need a specific undergrad major to attend AA but then you said you needed to fulfill the med school prerequisite’s?? Kinda lost, why would I need to fulfill these prerequisites if I have an unrelated undergrad major?
@@LifeWithAce313 my schooling playlist dives deeper into this question!
it's all relative, as a D1 athlete majoring in neuroscience, my time management is paramount. flights, bus trips, practice, recovery... adds up quick. plus i'm on a quarter system smh haha
Sorry can foreign GPs become Anesthesiologist Assistant in Usa?
Full time worker in your field can easily make 350k annually.
How did you pay off your student loans so early? Is it because of scholarship or being diligent with money?
I took out loans! I go into more detail in my finance playlist!
You should had asked the AA lady if she took the GRE or the MCAT, and how many schools did she apply. Anyway nice video and congrats to them.
Congratulations 🎉 to the both of you for accomplishing your dreams as an advanced practice providers (CAA/PA-C).
Hi! @caalifestyle As an Anesthesia Assistant, do you deal with putting in a pick line, drawing blood? Do you administer the drugs as an assistant, or do you just prep them? Also, does the job require heavy math skills? Askingb for my daughter, who is graduating high school.
These are my two choices after my undergrad. I want to do AA but they are limited in the states they can practice in. PA’s can practice in every state but make less money I want to practice in Texas and AA’s can practice in Texas but what if I want to move😩. I don’t plan on moving though
So do an aa in biology in miami Dade college then go to aa school ?
Medical health care updates health scenery health 🎉

Is it same as anesthesia technician. New here looking for a path after 12th
Do you set up by yourself in the morning or does an anesthesia tech help you?
Does an AA use stethoscope ?
any chance you can make a video about when to apply for schools or make a list for when applications are due
Do you know if pharmacy technician are considered patient direct interactions? I have years of that and not sure if I need to find other patient direct interaction skill.
First generation rise up! We got this ❤

For an IMG that wants to be an Anthesiologist Assistant, whats the route? Can that be done?
There’s no life balance in school tho😂😂😂
Idk if I missed it, did you say you work 60 hours a week to obtain your >$200k salary? Or how much do you work to obtain that?
I am actually a clinical social worker, heading into the airforce this summer…one of the goals was for me to pivot careers into AA…and with the help of the military, Im excited to not have to worry about the costs. I’m just so ready for the career change. Thank you for the videos.
Not including bonus and OT?
@theballerstar I believe that’s for the average base salary!
