Hey, I wanted to know from a few videos ago if locum pay of 40k a month is something you can make for more than 3-4 years? Or is it more along of the times being good for that, and the locum pay will eventually drop to a 20k a month?

@@FlywithMikey96 that was a special month for me as it included 5 pay periods. The hospitals usually determine the rate so a different contractor can be making more or less than I am depending on their contracts. If the pay dropped to 20k per month that would be similar to a W2 contract with experience and it would not be competitive enough to do locum (at least for me). There’s no way of predicting what the future holds as there could be another global pandemic, but for the foreseeable future anesthesia providers will be highly in demand.

It’s great to see a fellow paramedic go forth and represent us well! Anesthesia was my first goal in medicine and got bit by EMS along the way. Now I’m 10 years from retirement at 40 and am hopeful to apply to AA school at that time!
Also just FYI, paramedics are different than EMTs! Not trying to ego stroke, but it would be like calling a nurse a CNA. Massively different scope and knowledge depth. Common misconception of terminology
