15:40 Communism is a completely different Mode Of Production and society from what we have today. According to Marxist theory, humanity has gone through 4 main Modes of Production. 1. Primitive Communism, when we were hunter-gatherers, we didn't own property and have social classes like we do today. 2. Slave Societies, when the Production of Societies infrastructure was made by slaves and other lower social classes, while the slave owners/establishment lived of their labour. 3. Feudalism, when we had the classic king at the top and peasants at the bottom. Peasants produce food and tools while being subject to royalty. 4. Capitalism, our current Mode of Production, when the Capitalists/Bourgeoisie live of the Surplus Value of the Working-class/Proletariat. The Proletariat live of Wage Labour by producing, distributing, etc and the Bourgeoisie live of their profit (income minus expenses) According to Marxist theory, the next Mode of Production will be Socialism. When the Proletariat takes control over our Production and democratically decide how to produce, instead of the Bourgeoisie deciding based on their unending thirst to accumulate Profits. BUT, social classes (mainly the Proletariat and the bourgeoisie) will still exist The next Mode of Production is Communism and the enormous difference between Communism and Socialism is that there does not exist any social classes, no state, no money etc. And people live by "From each, according to their ability, to each according to their needs." Socialism and Communism is NOT about everyone earning the same wage. It is to put the workers in control in order to remove wage labour and social classes altogether.

Not sure if it was explained in the comments but when he was saying it was worth 40 million USD in 2022 he meant a single talent of silver, not the total amount Rome asked for. So 2200 would be 88 billion. 3200 Talents would be 128 billion and the 4400 talents at the end was 176 billion

The term consul, is an old Roman Republic term for and elective president type position. The Roman republic served as model of government around the world, inc the USA. Napoleon just called himself consul but took dictatorial powers effectively a lot like the early Roman Emperors following the fall of the Republic. Effectively it was now one man rule, and democracy died.

To be fair to Bernadotte, he told Napoleon that once he became Crown Prince of Sweden he’d put Swedish interests first, regardless of his previous allegiance. The two also had a rocky past, never really getting on with each other. It also didn’t help that Bernadotte had married Napoleons first Fiancé

Kinda hard to take russia piece by piece when Russia uses Sorched earth Tactics. If they were willing to set their own capital on fire and let Napoleon take it what do you think they'd do to any city or village he would try to take? They burned everything behind them, if it couldnt be moved it was destroyed so Napoleon couldnt use it. The Soviets did the same during WW2.

Despite I've head some problems with your way of reacting in the past...I came back and watched a few of your history reactions. I even subscribed now, because I really can see, that you try to learn from the history videos and when you don't know something, you are looking it up during you are reacting. That is much more than other, similar, reaction channels are doing. You had questions about Italy and why there were little countries (Republic of Genoa) you've never heard from on the area that is Italy now. I will send you a recommendation via email for an explanation video, that will explain those questions. I hope you will react to my recommendation. Greetings Mega

Alexandre Dumas was one of Napoleon’s favorite general and the only black general in a European country at the time. So it’s a bit more complicated than that. However He did put back slavery for economic reasons on some islands..

Did you catch that at the end? Lincoln expressed his support for black voting rights. By the standards of his day, Abraham Lincoln was not a racist. It is easy to criticize from the perspective of today. Ending slavery was not as simple as you seem to think. Stop being racist toward all white people. Many fought and died to end slavery, including at least one of my ancestors. You're welcome.

The use of "First" in "The First Consul" is to denote Napoleons higher status relative to the other two consuls. Similar to the presidents wife being called the "First Lady". The position of "Consul" comes from the Roman republic, so the first chronological consul would have been a bit over 2 thousand years before Napoleon. Love your vids btw, always get me laughin

I just want to clarify one thing about evolution. It's not individual organisms that change over time. It's actually the population. So the question "where are our ancestors?" doesn't make sense. Our ancestors (as a group) became us (as a group) over time. In the same way as Americans of 19th century produced modern Americans and disappeared (science can't explain it). A population may split, so each part will go its own way. A population may also collapse, ending an evolutionary branch. Branches that are relatively close to each other may mix up. There's no such stuff as cows giving birth to pigs only to mysteriously disappear afterwards.

10:38 this does not contradict the bible. Time scales in heaven are different so when they say god made the earth in 7 days thats not human days. Thats like millions of years. Also life can come from the ocean but humans were still made on land through evolution. I wouldnt say the bible is word for word accurate but its a guideline and science is what we use to find things for ourselves. My opinion is that god created us with scientific knowledge and curiosity so we can figure out life. Religion and science can and have workrd together.

The reason there isn't much related to Africa and similarly Native Americans is because the majority of major events from modern human history come from Eurasia and North Africa. As modern Homo sapiens evolved, they moved to find new places to live. The sapiens who moved into Eurasia settled down much faster than those who continued to move into northern Europe, far West Asia, deep into Africa and into the Americas. That is why early farming and agriculture started around North Africa and the Middle East. That is where early humans, who were dark skinned still, settled down first. They then had to continue to travel to populate the world and spread knowledge. Because the people who settled first stayed in their spots, they advanced much faster. It's why Egypt was so advanced, whereas Southern Africa was still pretty much tribal as groups of humans were still settling slowly while others kept traveling South. This same thing was happening to the Native Americans. Groups who settled early advanced faster than the tribes who continued to travel. This also happened to the Germanic tribes of Northern Europe who were still tribal until they finally settled. Early humans were dark skinned no matter where they lived. Southern Europe, Middle East, or Northern Africa. All early achievements humans did to succeed as humans were made by those people. So much of this video is about all human history. This includes the creation of all early societies as the human population boomed. The early settlers had more time to record their history and make their empires such as Egypt, India, or China. People still traveling don't have recorded history nearly as long as the people who settled. Because of this, as I said, much of Africa and the Native Americans don't have the same records that Eurasia and North Africa do. They were building their societies as others were still moving around finding places to make their homes. Much of the history these traveling people have is oral. Because of this much has been lost over time and isn't reliable. That's why a video like this doesn't contain much. It's mostly scarce outside of large early settlements that lasted until written language became popular and we had actual records elsewhere.

If humans all suddenly disappeared, there would probably never be another species to become similar to us. Even another primate species. They wouldn't need to. We evolved the way we did as a response to the pressures at the time. The other primates evolved to fit a different environment, the ones they are still in today. They simply have no pressure to evolve the traits we evolve. They are evolving similar traits, however, and many primate species are in a stone age currently. Humans are not the "goal" of evolution either. We evolved to fit the environmental pressures, but we didn't have to evolve the way we did. We just happened to get one of the many ways that could have worked. If we disappeared or went back in time to try again, humans might not have evolved at all, or we could have died in place of something better suited than we were. A chimp is evolved specifically to fit a jungle habitat. They won't evolve into human like animals in that jungle because they survive just fine as it is. Our last common ancestor with chimps split because our two populations went into different environments. We moved into a savanna, and they moved deeper into the jungle. Those two different populations of the same ancestor went on to evolve to fit two different environments. We evolved to fit the savanna, and the chimps and bonobos evolved for jungle life.

There are actually many living examples of animals still evolving for land life today. The mudskippers are a great example because they are basically land animals at this point. Various eels, some sharks, snakehead fish, rockskippers, wooly skulpin, bichar, and various lungfish are all examples of aquatic animals evolving to terrestrial life. Evolution doesn't stop. Things are still and are always evolving, including humans. The reason no other apes besides humans learned to speak is because there was no need to. We only learned to make the sounds necessary for our form of speech due to a mutation in our jaw muscles and hyoid bones consequently. Other animals do communicate, just not in the same way or same sounds as we do. The word apple is just a sound we make to refer to that specific fruit. Other languages make different sounds for it, and other species make even more different sounds. It is still a sound used to point to that specific fruit. Just because we can't understand their language doesn't mean they don't communicate. Other species of humans went extinct due to various reasons. Environmental changes, climate change, habitat loss, or competition with us sapiens. Farming and agriculture came around long after the other humans died out. I'm curious as to any other questions either of you have regarding evolution or science itself. I'm a biologist, so I can answer as best I can. I specifically do evolutionary biology work on our ancestors called Homo erectus. I'd love to clear up some of the man on the rights questions or misconceptions around evolution.

There is no such thing as magic or anything like that. Saying there are still things we don't know isn't a reason to believe in a god. That means you're saying, "we don't know therefore we do actually know it's a god." Rather than just saying,"we dont know yet." Like we have for everything else. The idea of a god is an ever shrinking pocket of ignorance. Every time we explain something and figure it out, that's one less thing you can call god. The only reasonable idea of a god is a deism idea that a god started the universe and left everything alone to develop on its own. As we learn more and more, that is where all religions will end up anyway. That "god just started everything." That's what it will end up as once we explain everything else we don't yet know. There is no evidence for anything in the bible that isn't just history. The bible actually gets a lot of normal history wrong anyways along with the facts it gets wrong. In science, we follow the evidence, now just a claim in a book that was written thousands of years ago that can't get facts right. The people who wrote it only know the things that were known at the time. That's why there are errors. Everything else is just people trying to explain the unknowns, but since then, we have explained more and more.

the reason why other apes can’t speak and we can, i because of our hyoid bone. it’s a floating bone in our throat. In humans, the hyoid body is flat and bar-shaped and lies below the inferior margin of the mandibular body, just below the tongue root. However, in great apes the hyoid is placed superior to the inferior margin of the mandibular body and lies behind the tongue root. literally not random but practically random genetic mutation that was beneficial so the cavemen who had it were more likely to survive and pass on their offspring

The difference between serfs and slaves are that serfs are attached to the land and slaves werent. Serfs cant be bought or sold, but the land they were attached to could, so in that way they could change owners. Neither was good obviously, but at least as a serf your family wouldn't get split up because they stayed with the land.

Communism only sounds great on paper, in practice it never ever worked out, like John F. Kennedy said: “Capitalism may not be perfect, but we have never had to build a wall to keep our citizens in”

Communism doesn’t mean that everyone has the same amount of money, money doesn’t exist or have value in a communist state, everything is controlled by the state in communism, what you eat, how much you eat, where you work, how much you work etc. Capitalism however gives everyone equal opportunity to gain wealth. It pushes competition and the competition makes for innovation which means quick improvements for everyones living standards

This also means that for example if someone is really good at being a doctor he can be made to be a farmer even though someone who knows all about farming can get the job for a doctor & this goes for any job

Every ethnic group in the history of humanity has experienced both sides of slavery, the transatlantic slave trade was just one of the biggest & the most recent ones. Also it led to people becoming racist since africans had been slaves in the americas for so long that it had an effect on how people looked at the whole race. This happened with other groups too during the roman and egyptian times for example but again, that’s not as recent as the current situation.

Yeah, but there aren't many who did it because they expressly thought they were racially superior to others. You're my slave because I conquered ≠ You're my slave because you're black and I'm white

One needs to remember the climate of the time. Women werent treated much better back in those days, it wouldnt have even occurred to any man tvroughout human history for that matter than any color or women or just about anyone who wasnt male white and christian. In that sometimes wonder how much has changed really. Smh but lincoln did learn. By the end of the war ye and fredrich douglass were friends and he actually spoke quite eloquently after his death in saying maybe now the country would appreciate him bc he was not liked at the time and in this country you cant unlaterally make a law. Thevman was a consummate politician and very intelligent and he knew he needed the countrys support as well as his own party to pass such a radical law as abolition. because ic he tried and it failed, it would take much longer to try again. It wasnt he didnt care, it was more he had to care also what the country would allow. We dont live in a dictatorship. But one thing to remember, he also died for abolition.

"covered in oil" is a real thing, arctic warriors have done it for ages, even in WW2 nordic fighters would use animal grease, in order to sit out biting-cold winter nights, such as Finnish snipers

That's when people got the nerve to say Russia's "not imperialist" - it comes *straight* from an empire, one that grew by conquest and domination, and they're currently trying to restore one of their lost regions, after already fighting in Georgia (the country, not the state), landgrabbing the Georgian side of the Caucasus-mountains, for ease of occupation if they need to. They keep pestering both the Baltics and Scandinavia about just their presence - they want more islands, they want more ocean - they are absolutely imperialist!
