    I'll ask you again: how much are you going to pay these young men to do the hard unpleasant things which you are demanding? You are happy to tell us what we need to do. I don't think you can afford the cost of it. You'll probably just keep ignoring my comments though, while your nation continues to crumble.

    The narrator bashes modern hobbies as boyish which is just ignorance on his part. Hobbies have always helped relaxation. The narrator does NOT sound like someone who works 70 to 80 a week to me. So why bash hobbies for us who enjoy not overworking like a serf? This guy reminds me of a weak West Weston bashing people for living different than him, the superior life.....

    I think the idea of "manhood" is antiquated and ridiculous; everyone is an individual, so why should we all strive to achieve the same things? Why does society tell us that to become a MAN, you need to do x or y or z? The answer is control. Society has this lovely way of creating cookie-cutter people that all look and act relatively similar and have pretty much the same end-goals. Creativity is discouraged, thinking differently is discouraged, examining our ways of life is discouraged. Hobbies (which are fundamental to the human experience) are discouraged if they are unrelated to career advancement; when I was still in school, nobody had anything nice to say about what someone else did in their free time. "That guy is a musician? What a cringe wannabe loser! He'll never be as good as all the superstar celebrities I listen to!" "That guy makes things in his free time? What a waste! It'll never be as good as what I can buy at a store," etc. etc. etc. The only thing most people talked about was studying, grades, and their favorite TV shows/games. So many people live shallow lives when they could be blossoming into amazing people, but their values are backwards, they don't have the time or energy to do so, or all of the above. We are expected to invest every fiber of our being into making money and having kids to keep the meat grinder spinning. People who have goals outside of these expectations are often unsupported by their friends and family. Artists are treated like failures unless they are rich and famous, and so are many skilled craftsmen who don't make as much money as yuppies with degrees. We worship vanity and status, and nobody has any sort of respect for internal beauty or TRUE personal growth. We as a society only value external growth (wealth and social status) because we have been programmed to hold such values to benefit the 1%. It's my view that this culture of worshipping high wealth and high status, where everyone wants to be an influencer and live like a celebrity, is driving not only the stagnation of young male development, but young adults' development as a whole. Society values vanity above all else; it's not about who you are, it's about who you APPEAR to be. Adults have raised their children to value the wrong things. On top of all of this, inflation is through the roof, rent is through the roof, and many young people can't find jobs that pay well enough to support themselves: this leads to the young working long hours and sometimes having multiple jobs so they don't go homeless. And who on Earth wants to leave home when they just got done working a 12 hour shift? Most people would just want to wind down, eat a meal, watch TV or play videogames, and get all their chores out of the way. Many people right now don't have the energy to do anything productive but work, and for me it's very easy to see why. Hardly anyone makes enough money to support a family, let alone support THEMSELVES. Young people cannot get a proper start because the social contract has been utterly destroyed, and our society has been slowly twisted and shaped into an abominable dystopia.

    • @brycekeziah542
      @brycekeziah542 16 днів тому

      No, the “works based” is based off doing the things that come with actually being saved, understand what being who God wants us to be. Many good people that do good things don’t always go to heaven that’s the entire point. The “once saved always saved” thing has really crutched modern day Christians. If your saved you live a certain way through and through even while being imperfect. If you’re constantly living a life of sin but are “saved” in your mind maybe anyone that thinks that way should rethink including me. Lewis really got me thinking and helped me understand what being a real saved by the blood of Jesus is. Take up the cross but I mean really take up your cross and the life and promise of heaven will fall into its place naturally.

    The Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race. They have greatly increased the life-expectancy of those of us who live in “advanced” countries, but they have destabilized society, have made life unfulfilling, have subjected human beings to indignities, have led to widespread psychological suffering (in the Third World to physical suffering as well) and have inflicted severe damage on the natural world. The continued development of technology will worsen the situation. It will certainly subject human beings to greater indignities and inflict greater damage on the natural world, it will probably lead to greater social disruption and psychological suffering, and it may lead to increased physical suffering even in “advanced” countries.

    You really deserve more views, I have greatly enjoyed your content spending the whole day listening through them, especially Søren Kirkegård. Ironically I am actually Danish myself, so I have the privilege of being able to read his works in their original language and I think I will. But man... We actually weren't really taught about him in school around here, and he doesn't even have a dedicate museum in Denmark which is wild if you think about it. We have a bunch of historical figures in Denmark who has dedicated museums, but not him... and now I got much more interested in studying about him so thank you. As for C.S Lewis, I grew up loving his Narnia books and only with age came to actually appreciate the Christian messages in them, only now have I gotten more into his adult content. Especially loved your video about Screwtap and man... I make theater and is thinking it would be cool to make a version of it with puppet theater.

Of course, only those who actually choose to be laid to rest there will, we have historical figures who simply chose to be buried elsewhere though they could have chosen this place. So apparently he was popular enough to get a spot at that place. It's just funny that while he wasn't so popular back then, he is obviously influential now, and we here in Denmark don't dedicate more time to him. People like S.V. @@freeindeed08 I wouldn't expect you to know or anyone who isn't Danish. While these people were undoubtedly influential figures in Denmark, their influence never reached beyond our borders. So it's totally cool you don't know. The only Danes I would really expect anyone to know about would be H.C. Andersen, because you know... His fairytales are world-famous. Maybe Niels Borh, he created the periodic table. The only author I kind of wish people outside of Denmark knew about would be "Ludvig Holberg." and specifically because of his play. "Erasmus Montanus." which is a play that's now 300 years old now and PERFECTLY depicts a social justice warrior, it is uncanny, and really shows just how little humans changed. Erasmus's whole thing in the play is that he believes he can change reality through debate, even argue a man into becoming a woman and a woman into becoming a man ext. And he must debate everybody just for the sake of debate and showing he is smarter than them, while of course everything he says is nonsense. It's a great and very funny play I wish more people knew about.

      @AlexAlex-fu8jd they’re referenced in the Quran but they come from the trusted hadiths. I don’t argue with Muslims much anymore because I learned pretty quick that you guys don’t know anything about your own prophet.
