I;m in San Antonio. Just did my first air layer on a Crepe Myrtle. Success!!. The newly planted one is around ( if not over) 12 feet. Was fairly easy. It did dry out some but still got roots in about 2 month. Just started another one but will keep it wetter. Your puppy is beautiful. Can't wait to see how your air layer goes.

I have a pug blue dwarf butterfly bush that I rescued from a place that was giving them away but it was sadly neglected and now it's totally got branches on it but they're all brown and dead looking and I want to plant it and cut it back check and see if there's any greenery at the very bottom of it But I don't know it was looking really dry when I got it so I soaked it really well one time with the hose to try and revive it a little I didn't know it doesn't like to be soaking wet do you think it will once planted in the ground and given some fertilizer that it may come back

How are these now? I also planted 3 last year and they were the star of my garden. This year I only see a tiny bit of green on 2 of the 3.

Argh, your video cut off too soon! I recently noticed the whipcord plant at the nursery. It has beautiful green sprays of foliage texture. Are there different varieties? I've noticed whipcord arborvitae and whipcord western red cedar. Is this the same plant?

What size auger is on that drill?

My Pugster Blues are also two years old and I didn’t cut them back this spring because I just didn’t know what to expect. They are way bigger than I expected, and I will cut them back next year to a more manageable size. They are going to bloom beautifully and I will try to shorten them as they do, but I like not having to dead head them. Gorgeous bushes.

Lowes dosent sell them iny area. And I just purchased one at a well known nursery here and they only had one.

Thanks Stuart. This really puts things in perspective for me. Not just for memorial trees but all the trees. We moved into this house where there are many trees in strange places. I’ve had to remove a cherry, which was really hard but it was crammed into a shady spot and only a couple years old. Decided it may as well come out sooner than later. I’ve been wondering what to do about a few others, time will tell. I love gardening so the effort of putting the right plant in the right place is definitely a worthwhile exercise. Would love to see more videos if you’re up to it, you brighten my day 🪷
