I just picked it up a few days ago from my local used bookstore! It's on my TBR now, and I've heard it's every bit as good as _Maxwell's Demon_ if not better. I'm very excited for it. Have you read either of these books? What'd you think?

Wanting to connect with and like a protagonist is absolutely valid, and it can definitely influence the overall reading experience. For me, I don't always need to _like_ a protagonist, and I do appreciate when a character is complex and human-though I, too, tend to draw the line at protagonists who are just irredeemably despicable.
