    You definitely want this guy’s help if you’re putting a car together, he has the experience to know what’s going to work? What’s Not going to work? I am not an expert but I believe you could put a quarter panel on and it fit all the way around but it Can still sag in the middle And you’ll have to figure it out the hard way how to straighten it out?

    So now it has the mini tubs in, to put let's say a 10 or 12 inch rims with a 5.5 back spacing do you need to shorten the rear end or just need to relocate the leaf springs? I just want to run 295 or 305 tires without scraping anything. Thanks, awesum work you have done.

    • @carthageclassiccars
      @carthageclassiccars 2 дні тому

      You will have to shorten the rear end. I plan on doing a video on shortening one in the future, but personally I would get your wheels in there first and take a hub to hub measurement and take it off the rear you have if it is strong enough to hold the extra traction. Also thanks a lot!

    Hi Rick, My son and I are building our third 1967-72 C10 and doing alot of panel repairs/ replacement on this cab and doors. After all metal work is completed what grit paper on a DA do you recommend we use on bare metal before epoxy primer. What order do we go from there- epoxy primer/body filler/high build primmer/block sand/ primer again then sealer then paint not sure. First two were budget builds so did not have a lot of money at that time to put into paint products but we want to do this one show quality. Both of our other builds are on UA-cam. I just started watching your videos two days ago and your very good at explaining your process, going to try and watch all of them for more information.

    • @carthageclassiccars
      @carthageclassiccars 5 днів тому

      On bare metal your TDS of the epoxy primer you are using should tell you exactly what it calls for but usually around 80 git is good. Also yea you process should be correct, epoxy (let cure so three days follow TDS) scuff epoxy, body filler, high build. 2K primer, (might have to spot in a few areas of 2K) After everything is complete I would apply a sealer then base finally the clear. Good luck with the build and youtube Channel

    It's not worth buying a cherry one because they sell for tens of thousands of dollars with lots of hidden problems. I'd rather build one from the ground up for the same price while having everything new in the end. It's not the 1990's when cherry ones sell for 12 to 13 grand. That price today only gets you a good title with a body tag and a pile of cancerous rust.

      100000 percent agree with your statement. I have seen it so many times with different cars the ones the guys spend 10K more on only need a couple less parts. I would buy the worse condition car i can that isn't wrecked or smashed up bad and replace it all to a brand new the way I would want to build it. Thanks for watching and the comment.
