  • In this video we get the 1970 Plymouth out of the shop and move it to a new outdoor location to be wet blasted. I go over some tips and advice if your considering your project Muscle Car for being blasted or not. I show the process and what we use as far as media and rust inhibitor to stop flash rusting. After we do a walk around of the Cuda in bare metal we then seal up the car in epoxy primer before closing out the video with some final thoughts.

A LOT of "restoration" shops could learn so much from you...starting with your work ethic. So professional in all that you do, always considering the vehicle owner and their pocket book. So impressed Rick. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you very much for the very kind compliment. I really try and put my place in their shoes when building and I think the little things help build that happy ending for both the owner and myself when the project is finished.

This is so satisfying to see, many people don't mind a little rust, but a little turns into a lot later. Having 0 rust is peace of mind.
Too many collector cars have been junked instead of taking them to this level and having a sought after car worth way more than what was put into them...

You're welcome. At least it was easier to sandblast vs a whole car lol.

Without a doubt it will be better than what Plymouth built! It’s always a good thing when something gets a coat of primer. All one color!

Thank you and Yes I agree its very motivating when the epoxy goes on and you start to see the one color vs lots of rust.

Hey man. I see the pad for the new shop...that on pause for right now? Looking forward to this build. It is amazing just how rough these cars are after they're stripped/blasted. Incredible.

Brian, that is the new shop and actually 4 days after the video it already looks a lot different with most of the building n place now. It is not on pause but went a little while for the building manufacture to get the building materials and the whole thing ready to be assembled on site. Also thanks a lot for following along I agree with you they can be bad, however to make you feel better usually I don't show the better ones on youtube we build.

Most people would give up. But, Rick you are not them, you are 1 of a kind. You're now starting with about 5% of a car. Can that be called ground up? There's no ground lol.

@@carthageclassiccars I have a 1968 Charger that I bought after it was started in Restoration the guy doing the work striped the roof skin off, took the quarter's off. Sheet screwed the 2 piece floor and 2 piece truck pan's in sand blasted car and the Garage Roof colaped in winter snow crushing car roof . I bought the car as part's car because it was 100% going to junkyard it's only a 383 2 barrel car. Seeing your video's is giving me motivaion on doing work on my car as it is almost the same position this car is Except I have to buy AMD roof structure part's though. And it's all flash rusted now from having no paint to outside weather.

It's alot of work to do it " right" ! Its scary to think that my car would look like that Cuda if it was stripped down

Yes I have had this conversation with a bunch of people. If you at least not prepared for this then don't take your car apart. Enjoy it the way it is.
