    I would recommend, if your bike has high miles, to also do a valve clearance adjustment while you have it torn apart. Otherwise, you will just have to do this again down the road.

There used to be a track with a few tables and doubles and such that was done by dfw honda about 15 years ago, parts of it still exist but none of the jumps, doubles so on. Best thing to do after hard driving is to let it idle for a minute or 2 before shutting it off, this is more important on turbo charged vehicles to let the turbo cool down a little before turning it of.

    • @alexdombi-weridetwo
      @alexdombi-weridetwo 5 днів тому

      You're right in a car, but (most) motorcycles will get warmer as they idle, not cool down. Doing it this way keeps the fan on and helps to move air, even if it's small amounts, over the radiator and engine to dissipate some heat. Kawasaki even advises not to let a motorcycle idle for more than 5 minutes due to the increased risk to the engine from heat.

    • @pumba848

  • @hornhunter7

    I dont think the fan will really do much. The fan is there to cool down the coolant going through the radiator. Shutting off the engine stops the flow of coolant. The fan may help a tiny bit, buts its primary job is not the engine, but to dissapate heat from the coolant. If your really worried about temp, then leave the bike idling for a minute till the radiator fan shuts off and temp drops, because you're letting the main cooling system cool it not just the fan.

    • @alexdombi-weridetwo
      @alexdombi-weridetwo 6 днів тому

      This would make sense if the engine temp would actually drop while idling. The fan, while only minimally, helps to move the heat. Maybe it's only in my head 🤷‍♂️

    • @Flaturiah-II
      @Flaturiah-II 6 днів тому

      @@alexdombi-weridetwoIt does, you can see it happen with a car when idling at a light or fast food place. When that fans kicks on when it’s hot and running the needle for the temp moves a whole lot more than if I just left it off with fan running. It’s gotta circulate that nice cold coolant in place for the shitty hot coolant lol

    When the engine isn’t running the water pump isn’t turning….. so it doesn’t matter the only production engine that has a electric water pump is Toyota as far as I’m aware and that one may stay on for a bit after to come to a stop for those reasons granted your battery voltage doesn’t drop below a certain threshold.

    • @alexdombi-weridetwo
      @alexdombi-weridetwo 6 днів тому

      You're right that the water pump isn't moving coolant with the engine off, but the fan does move some air across the radiator, albeit a small amount. When it's triple digit heat, I try to do what I can to keep my engine cool.

  • @Mouthwashh
    @Mouthwashh 6 днів тому

    Except your water pump isn’t running, so it’s just cooling stagnant coolant. Better to just let the bike idle for a minute or two.

    • @alexdombi-weridetwo
      @alexdombi-weridetwo 6 днів тому

      You're right about the coolant flow, but (most) bikes will increase in temperature when idling. The fan helps to move air and drop the fluid temp to below the trigger temperature. Maybe it's just in my head, though.

    Hi, I'm 6 foot 7, 120kg and have size 16 shoes and I have a 2011 GSXR 750. I have had many bikes from SV's to Hayabusa's and the 750 fits me pretty good and is an awesome bike to ride to work on. I flipped the clip on's from left to right and put them on upside down that gave me about a 2inch rise and about 2 inch wider grip on the bars. This made it so much better to ride and control. I also dropped the front sprocket down one tooth and the rear sprocket up two teeth. This has made it SO much fun on the streets. Love the GSXR 750:)

    Sir, I am looking for a commuter bike and was looking at a GSXR 750 versus 1000 or 1000r. I moved from my late 90 GSXR 1000 to a Harley and helped my back a lot. But I am better now and started seeing these videos on Sport Bikes. Me commute is not straight but many turns but straight aways. What is the price point you would go with?

    • @alexdombi-weridetwo
      @alexdombi-weridetwo 12 днів тому

      The Versys 1000 is substantially more comfortable for commuting for me. Others in the comment section have said the 750 is perfectly fine for them. I did a video of the Versys 1000 last year (ua-cam.com/video/DMNmXkl3xS0/v-deo.html) and still feel it is one of my favorite bikes. Pricing is dependent on your location but around me I would expect to spend $6-8k USD for a used 2016 or older; around $9k for 2017-2019; and over $10k for 2020+. For new I would expect to pay $14-19k. Again- that's a rough estimate for my area of the Houston, Texas.

      The rubber piece on the foot peg itself is replaceable but there is not a serrated portion of the metal for traction. Under the rubber is smooth metal that I would not recommend using without the rubber. This is at least on the 2015 Versys, I can't speak for the newer generation.

    I’m between this and the gsx-8r. I have a Daytona 675 now but it’s just a bit too small for my 6’5 legs. I’ve sat on the gsx-8r and fit wonderfully but I yet to sit on the 750. I’m looking at making one of these bikes my fun/ commuter bike.

      They are both great bikes. The 8R has a lot more features and is much more comfortable for my body type and medical issues. It's also cheaper. BUT- the 8R is a parallel twin with much less horse power and torque than the 750. Both are track rideable but the 750 will feel zippier and more like a rocket. For me, I'd choose the 8R between the two. It's cheaper, has more tech features, is more comfortable, and still incredibly capable of being a fun commuter.

    Hi did you notice any buzziness with pegs and handles at high speed? I test rode the new zuki 1000 GX and there were vibrations at high speed which put me off.

    • @alexdombi-weridetwo
      @alexdombi-weridetwo 19 днів тому

      We didn't get to test much above 50-55 mph so I can't say about highway speeds. It is so much smoother than my Versys 650 though. Hopefully another viewer who owns one can comment about the buzziness at higher speeds.

I got a blue one and it's so sick, I just love looking at her. But it IS mainly the price, I don't see the point in spending so much more on a grom or z125, when you can get something of equal quilty for cheaper

    That seems like a really bad idea to have a crowd that close with 2 feet barriers

    • @alexdombi-weridetwo
      @alexdombi-weridetwo 20 днів тому

      Based on the commentators- the colored barriers were filled with water and then there was the metal fence. Thankfully we never had to test the integrity of the barriers. People were getting tire dust on them though.

    "Finding "Neutral" is really hard to find ...", ... well, it is, because you don't shift down before stopping, as it's normal when riding a motorcycle (just to use the braking effect of the engine). I've never had a gear indicator on any bike and I always "find" neutral...

    • @alexdombi-weridetwo
      @alexdombi-weridetwo 20 днів тому

      It's not common practice to stay in one gear while slowing down. Riders should use engine braking to slow in conjunction with the brakes, but as they shift to lower gears. The way neutral is found is a small notch in the shift star. In some bikes, that notch isn't prominent enough, and the rider needs a delicate touch between 1st and 2nd to locate it. Kawasaki has a proprietary function called "posi-neutral finder" that ensures if the engine is at idle you find neutral without fuss. The gear indicator has nothing to do with finding neutral other than a more obvious way to see what gear you're in.

    If they offer a proper guarantee on the engine I would buy the CF version. No way I would buy a KTM when they have serious cam wear issues and the company dodges any proper responsibility.

    • @alexdombi-weridetwo
      @alexdombi-weridetwo 20 днів тому

      Does the CF moto 2 year warranty not cover engine issues or do you mean you wish it were a longer warranty? Aren't the cam issues only on pre 2021 models of the 790/890? The fact there isn't an official recall is very concerning.

      Check the motor mounts. That's the hardest thing to fake. The engine will also have "Honda" or something else on the case. You can also check the VIN for the bike to ensure it's a genuine Honda.
