8:50, it does matter where the hot and neutral are terminated on the receptacle. Please edit so no one fries their devices plugging into outlets or worse. Otherwise this is good.
Amazing video
It's safe for the time and it works but it should be updated
Today was the first time I did this. Thank you for the walkthrough
Turn your music down bud, we can barely hear you.
A lot of K&T wire was #12 telegraph wire because in areas near railroads, the house builders of the late 1800’s-early 1900’s used to get surplus rolls of telegraph wire which was #12. This was a better system than #14 in other turn of the century homes of the late 1800’s-1900’s.
your missing some steps
Where do I get that power cord tho?
Perfect intervention.just what I needed. And the music, keep it in…it’s fun.
Thank you so much. It was exactly what I was looking for.
Both of those flashlights look like something outta the 70’s 🤣
now I know where to begin. Thanks!
I know for some people that was helpful, but for me it wasn't.
Why mine beeping
maybe im crazy, but my always hot is coming from the switch, when the switch is on. At the outlet there is NO power unless the switch is ON. Clearly its meant to be setup with an always HOT at the receptical, one for the washer the other for the dispose. I think the original installation was wrong, but is there any WORKAROUND i can do? Aside from fishing out wires and completely redoing the setup?
Milwaukee 2111-21 👍.
Wow, ANOTHER "electrician" using the Romex that is NOT heat rated to 90deg. C. as Required to feed the 48A rate from a 60A breaker. @matthewgotay1027 spells this out clearly. Only THHN single strand 6ga. through conduit is up to Code, and if the Romex is used, the Tesla app. MUST limit the current to 40A from a 50A breaker. Of course, the next owner can just jack it up to full power, risking overheating in the wall. Not all electricians do it right, but at least most know why some things that look the same aren't.
That is not Romex he is using. I just love it when an unqualified person says stuff about a Master electrician, and don't know what they are talking about....
Is it so hard to just buy proper color coded strands, to distinguish green ground from the two powered lines?
This is very good video and fix the contractor mistake
Since its a old house you coule install Ivory outlet instead of white
Maybe set it at 3ft up from the ground would be better
Great video. Simple and easily explained. Thank you.
Thx!!
This is easy. Can you PLEASE post a video on the proper way to actually do the rest of this -- i.e. how install the ELECTRICAL OUTLET to replace and old hardwired dishwasher like this with a new one after installing the plug like this, to bring the installation up to modern code (e.g. adjacent cabinet, height from floor, how to maneuver around an existing base cabinet to install the old work box + faceplate and make it flush or recessed with the sink base cabinet to the immediate right, etc.). I can't find this anywhere online!! If you're replacing an old D/W with a new corded one, obviously you need to change it from a hardwired style and install a new electrical box as well. This is only HALF the solution. Where is the rest of the installation and why does no one have this anywhere on UA-cam!???
panel needs to be replaced before the house and rv get burned down
Stop with the ums
Man, you need fucking 1000 likes! Thanks a lot! I tried everything, the part that shows how to brake the metal thing and separate the connector, that was it. Thanks a lot!
Now remodify it to fit a 2.5" hose again.
Useless for ppl learning so far away doesn’t say what color where nothing
I am so confused
I was disappointed as you did not say if the neutral you connected to the outlet came from the switch wire?? And what did you do with other neutral?
If you add a plug to it, Does it require its own Breaker? Mine is wired straight to old wires pretty white with a red strip pretty sure its just 110 not don't remember the old colors.
I its funny when Dems say Leopards cant change there spots. When Trump was a Dem till 2012, and the Dems was against civil rights, and the founders of the KKK. Ya lets ask the main Dem LBJ about changing his spots
I did everything the same way, dishwasher doesn't turn on :(
I wanted to know where the white and green wires connected in the breaker box.
Any price ? How much
Bad
10:36 your hand so close to the livepower
Very nice👌
missed opportunity to show your wiring connections in the outlet panel..
What size is the connector for the box? And my instructions say metallic Home Depot sells non metallic is that ok!?! Thanks!
Can to you walk on there to do stuff when to the ruuf will them not breaking
You have to loof the walk stand not or it will do
That wire looks kind of thin to be 4 awg which is required for a 60 amp circuit
Wrong.
Price?
Why is my green ground under a screw raw attched to the frame?
I moved to another house. The attic fan is humming but the dampers do not open neither high or low. Maybe the motor?
Awesome, thanks 🙂🙂
So 2nd outlet is not gfi, ok. But, If 2nd outlet was gfi you'd have problem using LOAD
Bending those blades good I see.. no bueno. This will eventually ruin those bearings and possibly screw up the mounting also causing vibrations and rattling sounds. No bueno as I said. When you do this be careful to only pull on the center of the hub where the steel is strong. Don’t put two blades in your lap and hammer away like this guy did. 🤦🏼♂️
That Ridge to MP transition is atrocious 😭. Looks like a future leak problem.
