Maybe there's the option in-game to research new propulsion tech, who knows. But it depends....if designing, building and operating/managing drones is 10x more expensive in such a scenario then they'll send out people in suits if that's the cheaper option. Technology is never upgraded across the board, there will always be parts of a civilization, corporation or group that will lag behind so I don't feel like having various degrees of technological advancement is out of the ordinary.

Well...there is the option for combat (PvE) with aliens trying to destroy you when your operation start outputting more and more energy usage. Not exactly gankers but when you have that option on then it won't be a cakewalk either :)

Yeah you'd think that :) I've experienced similar thoughts looking at the "NASA-punk" design in Starfield. But then again it's hard for devs in general to find and keep the delicate balance between what is "realistic" or believable and fun & rewarding gameplay. We'll see what happens, I mean it's early access and they have more than enough time to look at any adjustments based on playerbase feedback. They could always implement a researchable tech that unlocks an upgraded scanner module that allows for a better ranged and AoE scan function instead of close range targeted.

I had no idea where it was and I did the mission to upgrade the scooter(water). I also didn't know to use the ion to stun and stay silent. Works great on cameras.

That's raising the bar high in so many ways, but I think if I'd have to select one activity that people love in EVE and have thought about wanting to have more features to it; that would be mining. Starminer seems to be aiming to specialize in exactly that area, combined with EVE like graphics.

Good call: I tried again today and crashed 5 minutes in. I don't quit easily but my patience is running out quickly at this rate. Shame because the game itself is fun to play.

Being stuck is no fun but no worries, I've got you! In addition to being rewarded with science points after completing contracts, you can also purchase them. To do this; go to the Commerce Center at the bottom right, then the Crust Solutions menu, and go to Science Points. Here you can spend funds to purchase extra points. The number in front of the hour glass icon indicates how long these points will be available, after which they will be deduced from the respective total at the top of your main screen.

From a technical point of view: definitely not! Even though these kind of problems (PC crashing, game crashing) might differ from person to person and I certainly wasn't the only one having them last night....I can't remember having this much trouble playing a game for a long time. I'll be playing some more today to test with some different settings and I plan on streaming this evening, hopefully some improvements are possible by then.

I made this video 5 months ago: on one hand I'd like to say "yeah why haven't they put this in yet?!" but on the other hand; stuff being leaked is no guarantee for it EVER going live and maybe more importantly: I would first like AH to bring the game to a stable point, both in terms of gameplay and how they treat the game in particular the balancing part. First they need to stabilize the patient before they can operate and add more stratagems (based on their own behaviour it would otherwise lead to more nerfs and buffs just prior to releasing something).

I'm sure they care at some level but they've created a big problem for themselves with the balancing. Walking everything back is near impossible. Dropping new major content is very dangerous now for AH because of the current state of the game. The player experience is not stable so adding even more unstable content is even worse. And if they don't add the Illuminate (for example) in the best possible way then I don't see why people would a) stick around if they are still playing or b) come back to HD2 or c) ignore HD2 and play something else. Space Marine 2 offers a largely similar experience in that you can co-op fight your way through hordes of xenos, plus you have both PvE AND PvP options.

Just to make sure I read this correctly: your max consumption is 2.366, your "consumes" is 1.302; what is the -1k? Is that your balance? There's no problem in your balance being negative; it's just the difference between what your power production buildings are currently generating and how much your entire base is capable of consuming when everything is running. Some buildings not running does not necessarily have to mean you're lacking power. For example, when a smelter's output is full (no drones taking stock or no conveyor attached) then it will stop working (resulting in a difference between "max consumption" and "consumes")

@@SirStefanGaming Thats not the probelm its the In night showing a -1k ish number with the electric symbol next to the already -2k ish number that is for what Im using during the night. my point was it keeps popping up saying not enough power even though I have 5k+ capacity now and i don't use more than 25% of the battery's during the night, If it was just unused buildings at the time it would have made sense but says not enough power. I have 102 fully charged everyday large batterys 🤣, 1 of the other problems I have turns out to be a bug where the hi-tech machine will not take in oxides by belt so thats why that machine wasn't working

@@SirStefanGaming Basically i have double my max capacity but then it still says im in like a 1k deficit most nights even though I have way more power than needed (battery's never drop below 80% now) , I have alot of stuff backed up so it might just be the game thinking I don't have power for them because they are full

View powermode is green or red?

@@xtradi ? don't know what you mean by that, all it says is not enough power then -900/1k power next to the normal -2k/3k power that it says i can use fine. I now have 7k max output, max consume is only like 3.5k and my batterys done even loose10/15% overnight now 🤣 I have enough power to do 2 full bases. they did send out an update last night, something about power not displaying properly so this might have fixed it

Glad to see it's not just me haha. The game itself is still fun even though Im stuck at soloing bugs at 6 but I do hope AH is able to level the weapons out in let's say 6 months AND before they decide to add major new content to the game.

For sure! Holiday with the family is the reason I was "out" for a couple of weeks but I plan on covering The Crust for the foreseeable future. I'm actually in the process of looking at all the changes and see if there's enough there to warrant a video about it. If not I want to do a follow-up on power and research.

Looks like you will have both; sandbox mode and missions with objectives. I wouldn't say it's just a fun-project aka an engine test for the devs to check out UE5.

Gotcha! Yeah they have been delaying any information about a hard early access release date for quite some time. I get it, the game never seems finished and polished enough and you can work on it for 10 years and still more stuff could be added but on the other hand; you are going to have to release it at some point. But you see this with so many smaller game releases where the date keeps being pushed forward. So not having a date at all at least prevents constant disappointment.

Sorry for the late reply! I haven't had much time to go through the comments lately. What's the status of your batteries' capacity? Does it reach 100% during the day or not? Also, what does the tooltip indicate at nightfall in terms of how many days worth of power does your grid have stored?

Unfortunately it doesn't. You get everything from the SC edition apart from the unlock.

Glad you liked it! All three of those titles looks like ones you can really spend hours upon hours in: building, tweaking, tuning.

I'm not sure what you mean by "changing race" as you can only play as human Helldivers. Can you clarify?

@@SirStefanGaming I meant changing the skin for the viper commando armors, but I found out that it's random so it changes the skin randomly after death. As a white guy I was seeking to be white but it's random.

Yeah it's randomized upon respawn; which makes sense knowing that every respawn is essentially another Helldiver.
