Design and build an interstellar mining fleet to strip space of its invaluable minerals, and sell them for a tidy profit. But beware. Your greed will attract the alien. Use warships and defense platforms to protect your fleet at all costs - in real space, in real time.

A good combination of eve online, elite dangerous, and space engineers? Count me the hell in.
I am looking forward to this one. Thank you for bring it to my attention :)
That game looks awesome if it delivers! I'm playing DeltaV - Rings of Saturn lately for my mining craving haha.
great game indeed
Added to the wishlist. Love resource gathering and supply chain games. Also love space ships and sci-fi. This looks like it ticks a lot of boxes for sure!
Great review. I have it on my wishlist and look forward to seeing more about it. Hard to believe only 2 guys are working on this. Thanks!
Thank you! I recently learned they now have 4 people total so I'll update that in the next Starminer video
looks cool! i love the visual design of the models
excited to try this!
this looks phenomenal. wishlisted! insta-buy!
this looks great, thank you
Awesome!
Solid buy. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching!
I am looking forward to this game.
The idea of the game itself is a winner.
On my wish list!
Glad to see the Stellaris lore expanding
This has nothing to do with stellaris, the developers are not even the same, they are just helping publishing it
@@mhk9131 Humor is not your strong suit is it
@@micaheiber1419 doesnt seem like it, I dont get it
@@mhk9131 The joke is funny because it's blatantly false information but also fully possible that it's in Stellaris lore due to the multiverse aspects of the psionic pathway having their own multiverse arc in the game.
@@renaldoawes2210 aaaaaah lol I get it now 😅
I played the alpha a year or two ago, it's a real fun game. Can't wait for it to come out.
What do you think of the progress made between you playing the alpha and what you're seeing now? Just on a global level because I understand there's a big difference between looking at something and actually playing it...
@@SirStefanGaming From what I have seen of their latest announcements, not much has changed. They had a long period of silence , changed publisher and name and that seems to be it.
Other than a CTD when a mining bay bugged out and a lack of save options, the Alpha was a fun sandbox experience.
If they add ( alien ) worlds more alien factions, then it'll be a fun little game to pick up IMO.
In the vid you mentioned auto pilot, there wasn't anything like it in the Alpha, you had to plan the course and control all your ships/ space stations manually.
I can't wait for this
This looks incredible.
I know right?! Now we'll have to find out if it plays the same way :)
Enjoying Stellaris a lot lately. Will check k this out, thanks.
Looks great
Am sold!
This game is tottally my thing
Looks like Celestial Command but if they didn't abandon their game and did continuously update their game
I've had my eyes on this game since its announcement, fingers crossed for it
who knows, maybe we get 3d rings of saturn
That would be a cool sight to see
Amazing details of objects. I hope the game is MOD FRIENDLY, with mod tool.
We'll have to see! Do you have any specific themes or designs in mind you're thinking of working on?
I neeeed this
Looks like ∆V (Delta V) as a 3D game + some X-series shennanigans (eg X4)
Seems a lot like Avorion!
This looks interesting.i wonder how they will deal with the more cumbersome aspect of the systems and mechanics in the game.
Exactly! Very interested to see how much will be micromanaging vs. some form of automation
Ive had this game on my list for a while.
What do you like the most about it?
YESSS finally another game where ship won´t stop middle of space because you turn thrust off!
What do you mean, space isn't made out of jello?
Try play master modes recently introduced to Star Citizen... Apparently it is 😢 @@Snerdles
Looks good, sounds good, but these types of games usually fumble the end game and the point. What is the point of making this mining empire? To make the number go up? Can we carve out our own sector and nation build? Will there be faction interactions from that? Will there be anything different in a new play through besides resource randomization? What about multiplayer? Competition or cooperation between friends? Trade networks? Usually all of these games are number goes up games. And that’s fine and all but it would really be nice to read a novel rather than a comic book..
All good points. Early Access should hit Q3-Q4 so we're going to find out then what the answers are to these questions :) I'll definitely be making more content for Starminer including a hands-on gameplay review so I'll do my best to incorporate your points.
Waiting....
Ah yes, one of the top 5 most practiced activities in life! :)
I hope you can have coop galaxy s so you can build a Mining Empire with Friends and family.
A bit like Minecraft severs
No details on the possibilities yet BUT co-op is on the roadmap!
FYI The discord link in the video description appears to be going to another server, not the Starminer one
Thanks for the heads-up! Fixed it!
Reminds me of Limit Theory...
That goes waaay back!
Space Engineer
In the meanwhile, play Rings of Saturn as a 2d version.
Good mention!
Is it more about economy or it's cosmoteer in 3D?
It's a really different type of game than say Cosmoteer. I wouldn't say it about economy but more about supply chain and setting up processes to optimize your expansion.
You should look Avorion, pretty game tho.
Thanks for the referral! I know of Avorion; haven't played it but also looks like a title to sink a lot of (nightly) hours in :)
Did I heard it right? EVE online has no such depth in mining as this game? :D It was years ago since I stopped my casual EVE failing after 1500h in it, but mining is by no means an simple task in it. Especially considering it is social activity and usually involves other industrial stuff like planets, production, logistics etc. Coordinated fleets. It is all twisted and mingled together.
This game is definitely going in my wish list/cart. It just the way you compared it to EVE just shocked me :D
For context; I did my fair share of EVE mining ops in both high, low and null sec so I'm not completely pulling rabbits out of my high hat when saying that ;)
Just meant as a friendly reply and not to start an argument but I like your point(s): yeah I do think the act of mining itself in EVE is pretty straight forward. You target a rock, right-click approach target, activate your module and that's all you have to do to collect ore. You don't have to scan every asteroid, you don't have to maneuver your ship into the best spot (just get into range), you CAN choose specialized mining lasers (say your T2 Arkonor ones) but then you also don't have to manage haulers getting ore back to your ship (your cargo hold is instantly filled).
Sure, if you do it in a large group then you can start multi-tasking but with a multiplayer mode mentioned for Starminer, that could also be the case for this game in the future.
Other industrial stuff like planets, production, logistics ect technically isn't mining, that's simply more supply chain activities. Starminer will also require logistics, production planning and, but this is me reading between the lines, probably a lot of coordination between different mining locations/sectors.
I mean no ill will towards EVE, loved playing it when I had time for it in my life (because 1 hour in EVE is getting you nowhere lol) but I do stand behind saying that mining in EVE and mining in Starminer are two very different processes.
Let's be real EVE online is just A point and click type of game. You rarely have to account for other factors. And ore processing? Ok you can say that skills are involved but that's just about it. And you mostly want to be in nullsec to actually be able to get better processing facility that is stationary.
At least you can turn off enemys so you can build and design the perfect ship. My plan is to build something close to an orca with tons of guns and bigger more powerful engines. Eve orca sucks.
Would love to see a screenshot once you've built it!
the logo looks like starbound
Yes I noticed that too, probably still enough difference to not trigger anything. Im sure they had it on their radar.
I feel like people into this should have more intense experience with Eve Online. You can start a mining corp surrounded by player-driven danger and economics.
I guess it depends on what specifically appeals to people, as with all games. Sure, there will be some similarities with EVE, people will recognize some overlap but in the end Starminer will be a game on its own. I agree that if people seek a more MMO-like experience then EVE would be more suited for them. Other than that, it looks like Starminer will provide a more single- and (smaller scale) multiplayer experience with focus on mining and building ships in a way that really differs in both gameplay loop and design goals than other games.
@@SirStefanGaming Well, I guess you're right.
Sometimes dealing with people is more stress than fun in games. I for one, my love and hate for Dota stems for that reason. It's a fun game but other people can make it an unfun experience lol. Eve is definitely more in the hardcore end. Starminer is probably better for the "I just want to chill and relax"
This looks pretty cool... and doesn't cost 630 dollars like the Arrastra in Star Citizen xD
The Arrastra does look pretty cool
You can get the ship by playing like everyone has carrack bought with auec(the game currency) today also this ship is very big so is useless buy it only for you if you don't have a crew
but yeah if you don't have crew to control big ship in SC, big ship focused game will let still better than waste 630 dollars I agree with you
What a dumb comparison, two completely different games and scopes lol
@@mhk9131 Hur dur dumb lol
After spending 2500 hours on space engineers and hundreds of hours on cities skylines I am very interested in what becomes of this game from Paradox. Only question is will it stay interesting if it's not multi-player
The devs have mentioned that coop and competitive multiplayer will also be coming to the game!
So..X4? but different? X4 has controller support, does Spaceminers?
What's Spaceminers?
Have you heard about WarpedSpace?
I can't say that I have at this point.
"The concept of mining in space has been around for decades, think of no man's sky"
How to tell someone you've never even heard of escape velocity without doing so ;)
Haha I didn't think that one sentence would be garnering so much attention. I'm sure some people would have wanted me to pick a different example. I do hope the point got across in that this game has it's own unique approach to the concept of space mining, in a more elaborate way then what people might have experienced in other games.
Looks great except for the engine plumes
Mining process just like in Elite
I wouldn't say "just like"...
Very like then
I can't say the ships look great.. I think I would prefer how the ships in modded Minecraft look..
Is there ANY chance this can be multiplayer.... I dont mean mmo or 8 people I mean like 2 people like a co-op......

Edited:
I just checked, and it's single player unfortunately, so I'm definitely out.
Edited again:
I was just informed that it will have multiplayer/coop gameplay modes, so that is AWESOME!!!
Not so fast. This is straight from the devs, after someone asking on the game's Discord if multiplayer is going to be a thing: "yes - coop is and multiplayer is high on our priority list, it won't be available when the game releases, but the plan is to get it in with one of the first updates"
@@SirStefanGaming Oh ok, good to know, and thank you for letting me know.

It's still in development with no further info on a beta unfortunately. Will update when a date/details is released!
I want to play it now! 😆
That on its own is a good sign haha
my only critic is that the game isant out yet.
Lol 😂
2 guys, 1 keyboard.
If this is what they can achieve with 1 keyboard then I will happily buy them a 2nd one! Or are you just referencing NCIS for no good reason? :P
mining lasers are "realistic"? 😅 I doubt that but pls tell me Im wrong 😃
If that's your approach then you might as well stop playing video games all together 😅😁
Unfortunately it’s a paradox title and I don’t have 400€ to set aside right now. 😂
I get the joke but in all seriousness (because I see this argument a lot surrounding Paradox); if the base game is good then you can get hours of fun out of it and you're not forced to buy any DLC. For example, I have hundreds of hours in Stellaris but don't own all DLC, just the ones I felt were fun and could afford.
The fact that anyone is surprized that a polished and high visual fidelity game didn't require more than two gamedevs demonstrates something of a problem caused by people buying into the AAA gaming propaganda.
The common association between low quality products and the indie game community is a mindset that only benefits corporations seeking to secure themselves dominance within the industry by writing a false narrative that great games require millions of dollars and a workforce of hundreds - this is a malicious lie and consumers need to start recognising that.
It's a Paradox game. The only envelope it will push is the DLC count. Assuming they don't just cancel it in 6 months, which is very likely.
Oh c'mon ye of little faith, why would it be likely they cancel it in a few months?
@@SirStefanGaming Here's hoping I'm wrong, because this sounds like it would be up my alley. But they've been disappointing real bad lately.
Its not a paradox game, paradox is just the publisher.
@@mhk9131 that is precisely the problem, yes.
@@chrishoppner150 from what I am aware is that game publishers don’t force developers into how to monetize or price their game, they just take a percentage of sales for helping with marketing.
Don't suppose this will ever come to consoles? 😢
I haven't seen any information on that yet no. But never say never :)
Looked neat, to bad they partnered with “ea did nothing wrong with the battlefront loot box, it was just marketed poorly” publisher.
What's your main concern for the game then? What effect do you think having Paradox Arc as a publisher will have?
In a world where there are more games than lifetime to play them in. Why support evil? Beyond that, paradox has one of six or seven recent launches not result in a mediocre game or worse. That’s the major titles not indie ones out of arc. The concern with it is like most things pdx has a hand in post 2017 cfo ceo shake up it will be crap. The old ceo is back and I admit has been trying to fix things up over the past few years, but imo the damage to the brand image is to much. Pdx had issues before 2017 with sword of the stars 2, mercon strongly hinted that the cluster fell largely on pxd. NDA prevented him from laying it all out there, same way colossal order can’t.
I stopped buying EU4 dlcs back at Dharma, thousands of hours into that, not to mention ck2, stellaris, I was in the fanboy camp. Not any more. Pdx isn’t the only one I avoid, I played anno 1404 and that series religiously, I stopped buying Ubisoft back when 2205 came out. There are other indie options that didn’t go evil in that market space, I miss anno. Why support evil when there are other choices.
at this point am convinved its just an ad campain to drum up funding. never seen anyone actuall playin it.
How did you come to this conclusion? It makes sense you haven't seen anyone play it since it's not out yet. People did play it in alpha testing before tough.
Working with paradox ain't a good sign, but the game looks really cool aside from that
Out of curiosity: what makes you say working with Paradox isn't a good sign?
@@SirStefanGaming I've played paradox games in the past. Usually copious amounts of DLC, and with city skylines 2 collapsing the name leaves a bad taste in my mouth (even if that was under another studio, usually the publisher has something to do with it). I just don't trust the company not to make anti consumer choices
It stands to reason that Paradox Arc will follow a similar marketing & sales strategy as it's mother company Paradox Interactive; meaning any new content coming out in the future being monetized DLC. But that shouldn't impact the initial quality of the game at launch and I guess it will come down to how much content the DLC will contain and the pricing.
@@SirStefanGaming Paradox doesn't have a good track record for 2024. Lamp Lighters league, cities skylines II, prison architect 2 drama...
As I understand from what I've read at the time, the problem with Cities Skylines II being a performance monster was the cause of development and not publishing. I can't comment on Lamp Lighters League since I'm not informed on that one but overall I'd say that it makes sense that the name Paradox raises eyebrows, if only because you are worried that Paradox being involved means weird pricing or Cool and Good Games suddenly having to look for another publisher because they had a commercial disagreement similar to the situation with Prison Architect 2.
But let's assume that a good agreement was reached between C&G Games and Paradox Arc and all they have to do now is focus on making a good game, collect tons of feedback with early access and work towards an official release. Then hopefully all we as players have to worry about is how "complete" the base game is, what will be added through DLC and if those receive a fair pricing.
schill
The whole game unfortunately would be with no sound if it was realistic simulator of things happening in space.
Fortunately it's still a game then :)
i find the engine effects too exaggerated. hopefully they minimize it since it feels messy
As EVE online lover, I was left totally unimpressed.
Sure, that's possible.
Avorion, only looking less like Minecraft
Excellent description lol
"everything as realistic as possible" while a drone womits out gasses but still somehow works on solar energy :D
Typical sci-fi pitfall, where "oh i have fusion engine" and procedes to expunge solid matter/gas from a rocket without any visible fuel tank. Thats not how fusion works. It doesnt magically create matter.
Realistic within the scope that it's a video game :)
well shit. im down
You lost me at combat, I was thinking nice relxing minning game and as usual the Dev's have to fill the game with fighting, I'm so tiered of combat games!
Let me double check that for you because I'm not entirely certain of the details but it was mentioned by the devs you could play without combat. Let me get back to you...
@@SirStefanGaming Ok cool i'm intrested again!
Hi, I double-checked and there is a sandbox mode, where players can set multiple parameters to their liking (also disabling enemies) and just mine and build stuff in peace. So if you want no combat at all....that's possible. Not all of the campaign will be combat and there will also be peaceful scenario missions to play.

@@SirStefanGaming Ofc not on the gameplay or game mechanics but on the artistic side it's very very similiar. Even the logo is screaming like I'm starfield :) Well that's totaly my opinion btw and I love space games. There isn't any game in the market just focused on mining with this level of complexity. Insta buy for me as a mineocholic ^^
it would be cool if the game was online and not in a dead world(((
Mining is the most boring...
Then this is definitely not a game for you 😂
These are the ugliest ships i have every seen, its obvious that they arent designers .. sorry this game looks ugly
I dont like the look of the ships
I'm just curious, what is it about the look you don't like? What type of ships do you like?
I myself kind of like these abstract designs since they are most like real spacecraft.
Agreed
Too round, no real design concept as to designated compartments. But really, waaaay too round. Where Halo Mining ships? Or Terran/Boron/Split from X4?!
It's ok. A sphere-like hull uses less materials and has more volume. These are mining ships, they don't need smaller silhouette for protection. And they are built in space, they are not limited by launching capacity.
I like the look
lol why would you say no mans sky for a game that's been around for ages with space mining lol. WTAF not even going to mention the X universe? or the million other games that HAVE SPACE Mining.. unlike No Mans Sky!!!.. not sure your opinion will carry much weight after using that comparison.. WOW!
Hey thanks for sharing your opinion! Are you saying NMS doesn't have space mining or doesn't it hold up to your idea of what can be considered space mining?
To take your own example of the X universe; in X Foundations mining is pretty easy in that you fly up to the asteroid, perform a scan with the push of a button, start shooting at it and pick up the chunks automatically by pressing another key. I would say that's more plain, not as detailed as I'm seeing in Starminer.
I picked NMS because the comparison with Starminer's approach is true; what part of it do you feel isn't correct? If you feel I should have picked a different game: sure I could have mentioned 10 others, from X Foundations to Star Wars Galaxies but then it wouldn't make much of a difference for the actual purpose of the point I'm trying to make. The point I'm making in that part of the video is that how you go about mining in Starminer differs a lot from other titles...that also have some form of collecting resources from asteroids.
What is your take on this?
This just went to the top of my wish list
