NIKON Z DX 24mm f/1.7 - Pure Gold!
In this review I highlight the exceptional 24mm f/1.7 dx lens.
Although Nikon doesn't really have many lenses specifically for aps-c cameras, this lens is really not to be missed.
In addition to being lightweight, this lens is also affordable.

In this review of the Sony RX100 I show the good sides of this camera, but also the less beautiful sides. Nikon 40mm F/2.8 - Best DX lens
Переглядів 10 тис.Рік тому
Which lens would you choose if you could only take one lens with your Nikon DX camera? To me it would be clear that it is the AF-S DX Micro NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8G. You will find few reviews of this lens on UA-cam, which is why I wrote a review of this lens myself. For me, this lens is one of the best prime lenses you can buy for your Nikon DX camera, I find the lens superior to the highly praised 3...

NIKON D7500 Review - The most forgotten camera?
Переглядів 69 тис.2 роки тому
Is the D7500 the most forgotten camera of Nikon today? Or is this camera a hidden treasure? At first glance, the D7500 is just an update of the D7200. But the D7200 actually already had a successor, the D500. Is the D7500 now positioned lower than the D7200, or is it a step forward? And when is the D500 preferable? I explain this extensively in this Nikon D7500 review. TIMESTAMPS 0:00 Intro 0:3...

NIKON VS SIGMA LENS (Nikon AF-S 50mm f/1.8G VS Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art)
I had this lens before I went mirrorless. It was my favorite lens. I was just looking through old photos I took with and I forgot how much I loved it.
I totally understand you. None of the current z mount lenses have that same effect.
I have just bought this lens and after seeing your video I am very keen to use it. For travelling and not wanting to heavy camera bags this should do all I need it to do. I will use it on my F6 and my D700. Thanks for your review
Thanks for your input!
i just got this lens with the nikon d7500 with the 18-140mm for $1000CAN
That’s a great deal, have fun with it!
Thank you for this great and to the point review. It's a beautiful lens.
Thanks for highlighting this lens in your vid. I just received my own copy of the D version today. The bokeh of this lens reminded me of my Nikkor 200mm/2VR, smooth as butter, nothing like the newer Z lenses.
Excellent review
Thank you!
Great sketch!
That was fun! Thanks.
That was amazing, nice work! That's a very good drawing.
Thank you!
Your videos are excellent and you are also a good sales agent, I ordered one a few minutes ago
Ha, thank you! Maybe @nikon should just give some return one day.
@@WimBals Nikon should!
love this lens it my gem
Thanks for your comment!
I am using one and have another almost new stored in the box. Ok afterwards I went to fullframe but I will never ditch the D500. The only downside is that there are not many apsc lenses that can deliver. Especially apsc wide angle zooms are just horrible. Maybe sharp in the center but very bad at the edges. And AF consistency is also a problem with those lenses. I use my D500 mostly with fullframe lenses. The only apsc lenses I think are worthy enough are the Nikon 17-55mm f2.8, Nikon 35mm f1.8 dx, Sigma 18-35mm f1.8, Sigma 50-100mm f1.8 and the Samyang 16mm f2.0.
Thanks for your comment!
Thanks so much for this review. I've been thinking about which camera to buy and Ive found your review of the D7500 to be tremendously helpful in making my choice. Dave
Glad you like it!
A nice review thanks. Yes It's a lovely lens that gets the balance between sharpness and gentle render about right. It's great stopped down for landscapes, I shoot detail in the landscape with 200, 300 and even 400mm sometimes.
Thanks for your reply!
Hi so to summarize this lens, you can control the zoom in and out. You can control focus. It is suitable to take from landscape to portrait to close up?
Yes, it is a versatile lens.
Thank you for the video! I've just ordered the 24mm to supplement 16-50 and 50-250 with my Z50 :)
Great!
Your work is amazing!
Thank you!
Looks like a fantastic light weight everyday lens! Thanks for the review. And nice photos, by the way!
It is! Thanks for the compliment.
The D7500 came out the same year as the D500. The D7500 was $1000 less and there are some key differences that make the D500 king. First the D7500 has a crop sensor with 24 MP while the D500 cones with a Crop BSI sensor with 20.9 MP. Don’t be fooled, the D500 sensor is far superior to the D7500. Also the D500 has no AA filter meaning the raw photos you take are exactly how you take them. The camera is not trying to church them up for you. The D500 with the addition to 10 frames per second also has a bottomless buffer. With XQD cards this camera is an absolute beast. It really is one of the Legendary Camera’s ever made by any manufacturer
Thanks for your comment. Nikon D500 and D7500 share the same sensor and processor combination. That means you get a 20.9 million pixel APS-C (DX format) sensor with an EXPEED 5 processor in either camera. For this reason, image quality should be pretty much the same, no matter which you choose.
D500 is still legendary solution for sports and wildlife photography. Widest and brightest wiewfinder with zero latency, good dynamic range and best low light performance in it's class. My favorite setup for wildlife is D500 with nikkor 200-500 f/5.6E
So true!
Hi, nice review! I’m thinking of buying a good used version for mounting on my Nikon F5. Although I use digital - moving from Nikon FF to Olympus- I love shooting on b/w film hence the F5 which I pair with a 20mm f1.8 and 50mm f1.4. I think such a lens would complement these other 2.
Thanks, this lens can be a great addition to your kit.
Thank you for such a nice review of this lens. I have this lens and it is my Magic lens! It gets the job done Royally.
Thank you so much!
I have this lens. It’s crazy how a lens that old provides the resolution and rendition that great. I use it with my D850 and yeah it shines with those 45 megapixels. Thanks for the review!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I am thinking about buying it
Good idea!
Thanks for these thoughts! After wanting a D500 years ago and enjoying the Z system immensely, I just bought one at a great price and I do not regret the purchase. The camera just feels right, is lighter than it looks and no mirrorless cameras do 1.6 million iso as far as I know.
Thanks for your input!
Thank you for the great review. How is the distortion on this lens? (I am thinking to use it on my olf Nkon FA as well)
Hi, the distortion on this lens is minimal.

Thank you for your reply. I appreciate your video
Thank you for sharing. In interested in trying this with airbrushing. Would this type of panel work well for that type of application? I bought some white gesso, what is the reason for the colored gesso? Thanks in advance. Cool art too by the way.
Thanks, gesso is a universal primer, airbrush should also work I think. A neutral gray shade is easier for me to work with. That way I can go darker and lighter with the first layer.
Wondering whether I should get this or the 70-200 F4.... The 2.8 is too exp and heavy for me 🙂
I had the 70-200mm f/4 as well but the 70-300mm is more interesting to me. The AF is also a lot faster on this lens.
@@WimBals thank you!
Very complete, clear, well presented and most useful review. I have been mostly using my Zfc with manual Leica R lenses, a joy that peacking focus and beautiful results, but more recently I'm working more and more with the 16-50, ultra compact and light, also very good shots. And now, as I realized from your work, this 50-25 is the go-to companion to close the walking and promenade range set. Regards
Thanks for your comment!
Buy 70-300 afp or sigma tamron 100-400? Best ever image quality for my d7200 and range for sport and animal photo?
Then I would choose the Sigma 100-400mm.
This lens is truly remarkable and at an amazingly great price point. I recently got a 2nd hand one for around £250 and I use it on my D750. It gives outstanding results when I have used it for portraits. Thanks for your video.
Love mine and continue to use it professionally as well as for fun.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
very good review.. can I use it on Nikon d5500 ?
Thanks, sure you can use it on the D5500.
How does this compare to the old Manual focus 55mm Ai-s lens? Is it worth getting that for half the price of AF?
As far as I know, both lenses have the same optical formula.
Nice to hear positive review. I am getting my Z50 with 16-50 and 50-250 maybe next week. Thank you!
Thanks, the best 2 kit lenses that currently exist!
DId you get one? Z50II just out baby
This month i was planning to purchase this and your information helped me a lot. Thank you.
Glad I could help you.
Thanks!!
You're welcome ☺️
estoy entre la z50 y la D7500 cual me compro?
I myself have started using the Z50 because video is also important to me. The Z50 in combination with z-glass shows even better colors than the D7500. The D7500 however feels a lot more solid than the Z50 and the battery life is a lot better. In anyway, you can achieve very good results with both cameras.
@@WimBals Thank you very much for responding.
Never seen a painter and photographer in the same person! A true revelation.
Haha, thanks. I'm happy to do both.
Utterly brilliant way to teach kids!
Thank you so much!
Recently bought the Nikon D7500 with kit lens 18-140mm lens at $880. Loving it. Battery capacity is 2200mah in EN-EL15b battery. Great battery
Great deal for that set, enjoy it!
Too many features at better price. Best built and it’s a beast.
The D500 is one-of-a-kind.
oes it co-operate with teleconverters ?
None of the Nikon TCs can be used with that lens as far as i know.
I loved your explanation. ❤ perfect. I bought it and just started to do photography.
Thank you, enjoy your new lens!
Can you compare to the Rokkor 58mm f1.4? I know that Rokkor built lenses for Leica, would be interesting.
Thanks for your input.
¿Can I use it with a d3100?
Yes you can use this lens.
Hi it s a pity you didn t compare this voigtlander with the Nikon 55mm f1.4. Of course they are not at the same price but I think the comparison may be interesting. Perhaps in a new video …
Thanks for your input.
I already have a 140 camera lens, but I'm going to start learning how to take portraits, so which lens is worth recommending
The 50mm f/1.4 is a great lens for portrait photography.
