In regards to the fireworks, you were literally standing one block in front of where you should’ve been standing at Disneyland. All the locals know that the fireworks are best viewed at Disneyland halfway up Main Street in front of Carnation Café. The reason for this is exactly what you’re saying is that where you were standing, you’re too far away from the castle to see projections but if you’re in Main Street, you see the same projections and you also get the best view of all the fireworks, avoid all the tall trees, while feeling immersed into the story and the projections. I’m thinking you missed most of the storyline because you couldn’t see the projections as well. Standing halfway up Main Street at Disneyland is about the same distance as standing at the back of the hub at WDW to the fireworks. Glad you had fun!

The problem with loving Dinosaur, is that after you ride Indiana Jones you’ll not love Dinosaur anymore. Indy is sooooo much better. My wife and I got to ride it right when it opened. But it kept breaking down and we spend almost 5 hours in the line. We could hear it running and we were in the movie room and then it would stop, and everyone would just sit down on the floor. I bet we sat down at least 15 times while waiting before we got through the line. Last day we did the early hour as we were staying at the Disneyland Hotel, and we would get off of Indy, run up six stairs, hop over the rope, go down six stairs, and get on another safari vehicle. I think we rode it five or six times before the rest of the park opened and the line filled up.

The main reason the stretching room doesn’t go down at Disney World is because the water table is so close to the surface. They can’t have anything that goes down into the ground. That’s why you don’t see basements in homes in Florida. Magic Kingdom has Util doors below it but that’s because they built the utility doors and then built magic kingdom on top of the utility doors. The utility doors are actually what is at ground level.

I hope you got some green chili while there. Santa Fe is beautiful and has the best green chili, but any in New Mexico is usually pretty great.

I hope you ended up watch Wondrous Journeys from Main Street and not from the hub! Disneylands fireworks are viewed and more immersive from halfway up Main Street. ❤

There’s 4 Disney parks in Florida but Disneyland still has more attractions in their two parks so that’s something to consider. Plus, the whole history part of it is special. It’s my personal favorite Disney park because it just feels extra magical there. As for Universal in Hollywood, it’s an actual working studio lot. So the draw is that it is actually where films are made. I suppose film buffs would enjoy the Hollywood location more while strictly theme park fans would enjoy Universal Florida more (especially when Epic Universe opens).
