Wessel Werk EBK360DC cordless power nozzle demo
Maybe someday we'll have some rpm numbers to compare for now it's a convenient addition to my collection. Though I'd rather have a corded head that doesn't need to be charged given the choice between the two

This compact power nozzle from Wessel werk would be an excellent choice for those with a mixture of low/medium pile carpet and hard floors. Due to it's well sealed design it would also be a great option for lower powered vacuums. The downside of it is that the 4 row multi surface brushroll also makes it susceptible to hair tangling around it. Fortunately it is easily removable for easy cleaning...

Putting a non serviceable motor in a water machine is so dumb! Like of all the major types of vacuums out there water ones are the most likely to experience bearing issues due to user neglect or misuse. I'm not even sure you can buy a standalone motor for these.

Update: The bits arrived this motor is non-serviceable! Non serviceable motors do not belong in water filtration units they are some of the most abused and misused types of vacuums. So i sold my EST off then another one popped up locally for what I thought was a decent price, but this unit was clearly not well maintained. The airpath was full of caked on dirt and the unit smelled of stagnant wa...

Well I came across this uncommon, possibly rare, version of the common progressive upright. It has an electric hose to run the mini power mate jr. As well as having an electric carrying extension hose. This machine is very very dirty and the main motor is in need of some bearing work.

Lanmu hose with power, For Dysons, is it any good?
Переглядів 4752 місяці тому
To summarize using this hose while it may be convenient lowers your cleaning power due to a narrow diameter and leakage around the connection. You lose about 1/3 of the airflow and a large amount of suction. It's best used only when absolutely needed.

This should be going up for sale soon-ish. I'm not super familiar with the blender style motors but the lower bearing was replaced the top bushing, and brushroll bushings were cleaned and oiled. The one thing that struck me as strange was, when the upper motor casing was screwed all the way down it caused drag yet, i don't recall seeing any spacers that left a gap, so i loosened the screws to a...

Nice! Looks like a fun cleaning job!
It had it's novelty but i've been doing it for 8+ years so it's routine by now.
I just found the ultimate power brush setup for my US sold Vax 221 (sold at Sears at the time) that I inherited from my grandparents.
That's an interesting combo
hey I was curious where you could get the permafilter for it. We got the vacuum but no perma filter for it
I don't think i've come across a replacement unfortunately. If you are invested into the machine one could get a 3d printed part design to use a more common filter
My literal dream.
Now it is within reach.
@@Blackheartvacs Yea, only if it sold in Europe and wasn't like 600 USD+. But it would be really cool if I could get one and attach it to my Henry.
@@匿名的-1 I'm shocked that it's not sold in Europe each part says it's made in Europe. Wonder why it's not available.
@@Blackheartvacs It's a bloody nightmare to get vacuums with Electric brushes. The only new vac I can think of with these powerheads that aren't stick vacs is the Sebo K3, E3, D3 Premium. Lindhaus is kinda hard to get, you gotta buy through hotel equipment sellers and Miele no longer sells the once sold C3 Complete Electro with the same WesselWerk head as this, but mains powered. I guess it's because we usually don't have wall to wall carpets. At least not in continental Europe just a little bit in the UK.
@@匿名的-1 That would be frustrating.
That would be absolute game changer for me living in Finland where everyone uses straight suction canisters. I have been thinking to convert my Electrolux Paragon PH to cordless. It wouldn't be too difficult. Motor in it is just about the same size as many cordless drills and they are cheap. Hardest part would be changing the belt gear between the motors.
Should be obtainable since WW is a german product. Hope you can find one!
Nice vid. I have one of these as well, originally got it as more of a novelty than anything. However, I do find it pairs really nicely with my Numatic NBV240NX. Compared to everything else I've tried, the NBV240NX + EBK360DC would absolutely be my choice if I were to try using a cordless as my only vacuum.
That would be a decent combo. If i recall correctly Nacecare has been selling their products with it and the corded models + nozzle get a gold rating from the CRI where cordless models get a silver which for a cordless machine is pretty good.
Nice mod! 20 plus CFM is a great airflow boost. 👍
Oh yeah! and the airflow retention that should occur. 3D printing has a lot of potential uses. I have been designing pieces to mate a eureka style upright to a backpack. Hard to say when i'll actually get those printed and implemented though
I need owners manual for this model
What a bummer. ☹️
Get your bags and belts off eBay and Amazon now days no more getting out of the house now days everything comes to your house or the po box
Great to see inside one of these. Lots of thin plastic though. Can't wait to hear it run.
It was certainly unusual which is why i decided to document it. Unfortunately this motor is non serviceable it has a large rounded piece over the fan and the final piece of the separator doesn't appear to come off.
Bagged vacuum cleaners are more greater for your health than bagels
New vacuum cleaners today don't last long like that thing does i had 5 year old Hoover that just went out
5 years seems pretty good by modern standards. I do agree though part of it is that these older models spun at a lower rpm meaning a much slower wear rate. They are quite lacking in user conveniences though.
5 years is not good enough for me only 20 years is good enough for me
i have this same vacuum its a cleaning beast
I've loved the performance of these Direct Drive models. I've only experienced the older purple 2 stage motor model, but I imagine these have just as good, if not better performance than those older models.
I have the Aerus Fresh Era version of that, which uses a completely different designed cleaner head. I honestly prefer them over the Oreck XL Classic models in terms of performance, but it's a shame that parts support for these have disappeared about as quickly as they came out (mostly contributed to TTI buying out Oreck).
Are the inner workings the same? Like the motor and what not. i've suspected that they are but was unsure.
@@Blackheartvacs The motors (and the entire top end by extension) are the same on those I believe, it's just the cleaner head is shaped differently more to resemble the look of a traditional Aerus Electrolux.
@@graysonsvacsandmowers5426 Okay that's kind of what I figured, thanks for the confirmation.
This is interesting vacuum. I thought that I have seen it before and yes. This was also sold as a Vax VCU 02 Commercial Upright in the UK. It was rated at 450 watts so pretty much the same.
So there was a vax variant too! I thought there may have been as I was looking at all the re-labels
Adorable cat ❤❤
Do you know of the Relax Air I have one of those . It's like a cast iron and its electric is on the out side 😯 I've never plugged it in it's just a kool looking vacuum 😊
Hmm i'm guessing auto correct may be at play here. I've heard of Rexair if that's what you meant. They are the parent company of Rainbow which are still in production.
It's not necessary to put any oils on the brushroller. They're called felt bearings and are meant to be ran without lubrication.
Huh come to think of it the felt seals seemed very dirty....never even thought that they were like covered in grease or something i just figured it was 40 years of filth

It's a good old vacuum cleaner this style of the Hoover junior
Does the handle have to be reclined for the brush roll to turn on?
Yes, just checked mine, i was unsure
@ So the brush roll turns off when handle is in the upright position.
@@Bunkysworkshop Correct
@ Thank you 😊. I have purchased one on eBay and the lady said that she can’t get the brush roll to work. I said I think the handle should be in the down position in order for it to work. She said she didn’t try that but will check it today.
How did you convert it to the HEPA bags?
Oh you just need to change the adapter at the top of the fill tube. Part 190484 is the round style used on the heritage II and is compatible with the twist on hepa bags. This particular Heritage also had the leather like fill tube (cloth-like exterior, leather interior) so i replaced that too, part 190384 IF you need it.
Try wearing some cut proof gloves to grip on to the turbine so that way you can loosen that nut off i did the same with my Panasonic MCV 7395 upright and i managed to remove the nut that holds the turbine in place to repack the bearings
Eh my luck with that has been limited but the impact driver works fine so no need for me to do it manually, a good tip for those without one though!
@@Blackheartvacs yes in fact i wear cutproof gloves and use a ratchet wrench to loosen that nut off so that way i am able to remove the nut so i can deeply clean the motors out
I like these beltless Panasonics! It’s great to be able to shut off the brushroll at the handle for bare floor cleaning. That electrified hose is definitely a big help - this must have been the top-of-the line deluxe version Sears stores. I miss Sears - what a loss to the North American consumer.
To each their own. The high cost of replacement is my main reason for disliking them. Yup I'd assume these were like the very top trim model.
I have one of these and I’m absolutely delighted with it 😃👍
I can see why it's very handy!
Where can i get an led bulb for mine i have been looking but im afraid that the bulbs that ebay suggests will not fit to mine
Remind me, does it use a push in style bulb or a bayonet style (push and twist with two little stubs)
@@Blackheartvacs yes its one of those led bulbs that twists and push into place that have two stubs on both sides mine is a whirlwind limited plus and it has the halogen bulb on it the bulb still works but i have been looking for an led bulb for it
@@andrewherrera2736 Okay! ba15D is the base type for those. Here's the daylight (white light) ones I bought recently www.ebay.com/itm/266901316738 I'm not really brand loyal on them I just buy whatever is a decent deal
If its got glass something, its most likely Fibre glass, they are VERY strong and can withstand very high temperatures
Okay. It may have been overkill for the use but better safe than sorry right?
The best bagless dirt devil was the featherlite vision
Diamente 300e and 380e are both rated at 102.8 CFM. Those are official numbers from Lindhaus website.
The vm3 motor was absolutely THE BEST motor ever made!! It was, in fact, a 3 stage turbine motor. Telling you this because I sold these machines for 21 years before my distributor switched over to us selling water treatment systems. If you're curious....that particular unit has 110 kilopacscals of water lift.
Feels a little trollish there's no way you could fit 3 fan stages into that fancase i've had like 2 of the MG2s with the vm3 they are clearly a single fan motor.
I have two of these, the brush core can be purchased separately, although you can only get them with two rows of brushes not four. In another direct drive model it had a bad suction motor that sounded just like yours.
Oh that's interesting. I've never seen them before now. I can't seem to find a listing for part number 8174931 but that's the original part number for the 4 row, what is the part number for the 2 row ones you're mentioning? This doesn't need a replacement i'm just curious about them and their availability. I also checked the current 31150 elite out of curiosity and i'm still only seeing the entire assembly for those.
I trash picked the purple version which is the same as the one my grandparents had years ago. It's nothing more than an older version of this with a 2-stage suction motor that honestly has a better sound than the inducer motor like these later ones have. Also the motor isn't super difficult to get to, I got to mine when I replaced the head assembly from another unit that was parted out on eBay, the big thing you want to watch out for when reassembling the unit is to make sure the recline switch that turns off the brush roll is lined up in the housing.
Oh this doesn't have an inducer motor. I think i've only ever seen inducer ones in a version of the intuition, the 800 series canister and the Elite upright. It is a single stage motor though. Yup I've got it disassembled and the nut came off the fan shaft so I'll be able to fix this at least provided I can reconnect the metal....prong that pulled out along with the connector on the motor. Thanks for the advice on the micro switch i'll try to keep an eye on that during reassembly
the more the airflow the less the suction. rexair specs previous rainbow had 80 water lift and 70 cubic feet. This one has 70 water lift and 100 cfm. of course with any machine there will be leakage on the wands. the airflow box must be flawed rainbow is at least 60 on the nozzle. Previous did 60 (or close to it) which already a good number. I bet if tested in a proper way would get abou 65-70 as the wands have 72 cfm. 65-70 cfm is a very good number. of course will have very low to no suction cause the more the airflow the less the sutcion. And the rainbow is not designed to suck but to move the most air possible for it doubles as an air cleaner and is the only vacuum cleaner on the market with a specific certification from AHAM for air purifying.
another thing rainbow was never conceived exclusively for carpets. kirby aims mainly for carpets so it has a higher cfm at the nozzle, but the continuity of the airflow on the rainbow is more constant thanks to not having a bag with pores to get clogged. Another important point is. The faster the air moves with the higher airflow the more the HEPA filter is able to trap. Rainbow is better in terms of whole house cleaning including indoor air quality. Overall you will get a cleaner home with rainbow and with kirby you will get more deep down carpet cleaning but you end up having bag smell and fine dust and bacteria returning to indoor air.
@@TheCristianotube There's a lot to go through here so excuse me if I don't get to all your points. I'd first like to point out that 100 cfm figure given is most likely a Motor spec. Motor specs are often quite different from what we see when the unit is all together and we experience resistance caused by the design of the vacuum and by it's components like the hose. As for the airflow box, It's not perfect I know that, but it's a consistent way to measure the power at the floor where it matters most. I look at those figures as more of a ballpark rather than a fact. The original nozzle that came with the SRX was extemely leaky resulting in low figures for both airflow and suction. I think it would do a little better with their "rollback" nozzle. Rainbows will have more constant performance, sure, but their performance will also degrade due to them having a hepa filter, now the SRX uses a rather large one so this may take quite a bit of time to occur, there is such a think as non water soluable dust things which won't really get trapped by the water bath like talcum powder and some other materials I cannot remember at the moment. In addition to that you'll also have all the upkeep of having to fill, empty, and clean the unit each time to you it. There's a tradeoff to be made. It does have great versatility, especially if you are willing to shell out the extra $$ for the optional accessories, but in terms of cleaning carpet I'd rather use the machine that has like 3x the airflow at the surface. In reading what you have had to write you sound like you're involved with Rainbow. I get that you'd have a bias towards a machine which is your livelyhood, but ya know they could have done better than the SRX. I'd easily take the previous model over it despite some of the improvements
I’m so sorry for your loss. I don’t think there’s a right or wrong decision. It was a decision made with love. You made his life a happy life and that’s what it matter ❤
Thank you. I really questioned it the first few days but now I think it was what needed to happen, he was clearly in a lot of pain, and with his condition it was very likely to return even if it were fixed
My heart still hurts from my last kitty's death. I am so sorry.
Our time with them is limited, sometimes more than we know it will be. But the happiness and love they give us in that time outweighs the sorrow of their loss
The first video I see from you is this terrible news.. I'm so sorry, I know how it feels to lose a very unique feline friend too early. I hope you recover well and keep going strong.
It hurt a ton at the time, but I'm grateful for the time I did have with him.
These were everywhere when I was a kid, along with Rainbow vacuums. I barely see thermax’s anymore these days
Sorry for your loss. When the time is right, maybe there is another cat that can fill that special place in your life.
Thank you. I'll likely end up getting another cat. Just having 1 now my apartment feel so empty. I know though that no one can truly replace him as they are all unique. We see traits in them that may remind of us past pets but our connections are never quite the same.
I'm so sorry you had to make a decision so difficult, I can completely relate it happened to me as well. Our pets become our family and it just makes it that much more difficult, try to remind yourself that he is no longer in pain or suffering hang in there.
I know we have to put their wellbeing first and with his issues a relapse was likely. I know it was the right decision. I will miss him but i'm thankful for the time we did have.
So sorry for your loss. You did the best you could, so please don’t question yourself. I know it is hard not to but I found it make it harder to heal from a loss of a pet.
I know it's just like hard to accept ya know? Especially when it's so fresh. Thank you for your words.
Sorry for your loss. RIP Sweetheart ❤️🙏🌈
Thank you.
Sounds pretty good to me, especially for a 1930s/40s vacuum.
I also like to use my Everlast when really deep cleaning is required, 10amp motor, 10 blade metal fan B-series bag, the 4 row brush with stiffeners, that thing rips but it does make my ears bleed.
They sure do! but their performance is undeniable
It needs to be painted.
Yeah I'll let someone else deal with that. As soon as I can procure a low amperage motor from another collector this one's going up for sale.
Are the batteries Ni Cad?
I think so
My mom and dad bought this exact vacuum from Kmart in the mid 2000s, they had to buy the display model because they had none in stock. I remember my mom turning it on for the first time and it flew across the carpet. My mom always had a difficult time getting the canister to snap back on. This was our second dirt devil and our last. The first was a vision swivel glide. It was unfortunate that this had the silly central pleated filter in the dust cup. This thing was also extremely heavy.
Typically when I've seen vacuums take off they're in the upright position, makes me wonder if yours had a faulty microswitch to shut off the brushroll when it's in the upright position. I can see some difficulty in re-assembly you have to like manualy align the metal bar just a bit to get it to snap another. Yeah very very basic bagless machine
Narrow diameter hose is real airflow killer. I like what Lanmu was trieng to do, but it needs redesigning. That's the case with my Electrolux Precision upright. Stretch hose in it is very narrow resulting only 62 cfm from the hose. Nozzle has 76 cfm due to the unusually big diameter and short hose from bin to the nozzle. Point noting is that it has diverter valve for the hose. When wand is removed from the vacuum valve changes airflow to the hose.
Agreed. With a few fixes this could be a much better product. I'd assume the narrow diameter is to ease the "pull back" on a hose but there's a major performance trade off.
I have always experienced that an increase in features (convenience) usually lowers performance.
Right? One cannot gain something without losing something else
