Yo! I'm back. I was blessed to shoot this very special project that immortalises a sacred love and friendship. I shot this one primarily on the K3 with 250D. 16mm forever!

I purchased a 16mm film camera to try out the format. Unfortuantely, this camera had an inaccurate frame rate. Despite this, I still really enjoyed shooting on it. Quick grading test using the wonderful Cineprint16 power grade. I tried to make a pretty tame grade as Cineprint can be quite intense. You can definitely make Cineprint look a lot more filmic than I did. Shot on Sony A7III at 25fps. Color profile: SLOG2 Cheers! www.jacobpietras.com

sick! i see a lot of videos from this camera having the sprocket show, did you just zoom in on post to get rid of it??
The lab that scans for me crops the images for me! When you have the sprocket showing it is called getting an “overscan.”

I typically overexpose by 1-1.5 stops :) It just depends how you want your frame to look. Generally with film you should overexpose so that your negative receives enough light :)

HAHAHHA it’s on Santa Monica Pier - part of the slowness is because my camera was a bit slow and the shutter speed was off

Hey Mate, this one was scanned at Memory Lab in Melbourne, Australia as there are no labs in New Zealand where I live :( Memory Lab is amazing though, I highly reccomend

Yep! This was my first time shooting 16mm in this video, so I wasn’t super familiar with how to manually pull focus etc etc

So many of these 30-60 second films are more intresting and well done that most hollywood films that come out nowadays. I like this a lot.
