I'm a railfan currently based in South Florida. Simply recording the trains I see with my phone and putting the clips together, without graphics or voice-over, is what I do. Mostly I see trains on the RTA and FEC mainlines, but I am a frequent traveller.
A Bunch of Tri-Rail, Amtrak, and Hialeah Yard
I went to Miami with some friends, and we all took Tri-Rail to get down there. I saw Amtrak 92 stop at the station because the signal ahead was red, and after our train (P623) cleared CP Cypress 92 was able to move. I filmed Tri-Rail’s Hialeah Yard to note what was where. The downtown connection train from P623 was very empty even with one coach. I rode back to Metrorail Transfer station on downtown express train 302, but I didn’t stay on because it didn’t stop at Cypress Creek. I rode P640 back which had 501 leading after seeing P635 at Metrorail. Back at Cypress Creek I filmed P640 and P639 departing. The ride back on P640 wasn’t great because of a broken window on coach 1002 which caused excessive noise inside and triggered an alarm that wouldn’t stop, which is definitely a safety issue. Hoping that gets repaired sooner than later.

Elmers End is a relatively small station on the Hayes branch in south London served by Southeastern and the Trams. While returning from the west country I stopped at Swindon and Hungerford along the way and had the chance to film two freight trains. Both of them were operated by Freightliner Class 66 locomotives. The South Devon Railway is a small steam railway that runs between Totnes Riverside and Buckfastleigh in Devon. After a visit to the Plantation Historical Museum where there were train exhibits on display, I went to see some Tri-Rail trains at Pompano and Deerfield Beach. I had missed CSX L793 while I was in Plantation, but I did briefly get to see L787 switching just south of Pompano Beach station. I work at Amtrak and I can you tell you this… 509 won’t ever return unless they make a miracle happen. Poor thing is covered in graffiti and it’s been stripped in the inside and just sits there in the sun 😭

@@JPRAILFANNER12978 I don't think that's going to happen. It already happened with 510, and I've been on enough Tri-Rail trains to know that they don't have a lot of money set aside for maintenance. I don't think it would be worth all that money to repair one car that's in really poor condition.

My main note of interest here is that 1015 is no longer sitting with 517, and 504 has taken its exact place. That unwrapped UTDC there might possibly be 1015 based on this, but if not, it’s most likely 1012. We can also see 824 poking out back there, verifying it to still not be in the New Scheme. I keep on thinking that it or 823 would be in line to become the third BL36 to get the New Scheme because we haven’t seen them in quite a while. And of course, “the Line” was fully taken down, meaning 503 and 1004 are now out of sight. We can only hope that they’ll get worked on while not visible. Same with 511, which nobody has seen at all in over 2 months. Though I do also wonder one other thing, as it’s been OOS for a bit now and is nowhere to be seen here, what if 506 is in line to get the New Scheme next after that Rotem currently in the Wrap Tent?

514 is up at the north end with 817 and 509. I don't know whether or not that was 503 or not near 812 though. 1114 is in the new scheme, and 1103 along with another coach is in the process of being wrapped.

That was not 503. That’s just 505 sitting on its consist paired with 815. As far as I’m aware, 503 is nowhere to be seen in this video.

Nice catch & horn toot! Thosw coaches look nice. Also sorry to bother you, but i had a quick question about tri rail. In july during my vacation I am going to railfan tri rail at Metrorail transfer station. Does tri rail allow tripods to be used at their stations & do you have anny tips for railfanning tri rail? Thanks in advance!
I’ve never had any problems using a tripod fortunately. Some shady characters can hang around but I’ve never had a problem with any of them either. If you’re lucky you’ll get a CSX freight, and you can see the yard from there anyway. Enjoy the trip :)

That’s an LNER Thompson Class B1, Mayflower was built in 1948 and mostly does main line rail tours like this - she is owned by LSL and based at Crewe in the north of England 😂

Looks like 512 returned to service again and took its set back from 506, so that's now only 4 Active Old Cabs again... Hopefully this time, 506 stays out until they actually fully fix it. I rode on it when I was in Florida, and the ride experience was horrible compared to other Old Cabs.
506 replaced 505 on the set with 819

There always has to be a diesel with steamer. I hate that.
it’s only because of the lack of loops or wyes to turn the train around on. 148 is easily able to pull the train without the diesel, but unfortunately most round-trip excursions have a diesel
