I tried your grip as best I could. Cannot make a half swing without strain/pain in left elbow. Help please!

So what's your game? Why would you try to push this ridiculous golf grip onto the golfing community, do you want to see them fail? I don't care if you can use this awkward grip to your advantage, absolutely no one else does! You are the only person on this planet that uses that crazy grip, and you could never convince me to try something so unorthadox...so insane. You're just trying to be a different youtube channel...hey more power to you. You really should reveal off the batt that this is just some clown shit and don't take you seriously! SMH

I'm "officially" converting to Scotty grip, but not finding the consistency that is promised. Mostly trouble as the club gets longer.. I do see more distance and solid shots at the driving range so I'm not giving up yet!

You have to be double jointed in your lead hand

You must need deformed wrists to even make a swing!

It kills my left wrist what I doing wrong

I’ve had a left shoulder reverse total shoulder replacement and I don’t feel like this grip is possible given my “new parts”.

What roll does the left wrist and grip play in this set up? The swing is predominantly controlled with the right hand with this grip. So why wouldn't a standard baseball grip be just as effective with out the left wrist strain.

As a low handicapper, its not for me but I can see where it could help some players if they have the ability to do it and struggle playing the conventional way. Scotty seems nice and does a nice job with intstruction.

OK I wacked a few balls into my pasture with a 7 iron. Didn't get the distance with my conventional grip. But the damn things did go high and straight. Why aren't I getting the clubhead speed to knock it further?

7 iron? Hell, nowadays thats my 80 yard club.

Hi Scotty thank you for sharing this grip, but i have watched some of the beginners grip technique and ive tried it on all of my clubs and it improved my impact on the ball swings and only problem is i cant get the distance as yet. But ill keep watching your grip technique and hopefully ill get there one day. Great job!

It only took me less than 10 minutes to get a ginormous blister on my hand web.

Have not seen one post of anyone using this grip with success let alone 350 yard drives. Show videos of successful users. Skeptical.

I’m not going to switch to this technique any time soon, but I applaud you for successfully trying something different. If it helps some Golfer’s swing better, then who cares how it looks like?

Hi Scotty, Can you do a vid on swinging the fairway woods and driver?

I have the grip on the club as you show iin the videos. The problem I am having is that my left hand in the position you show causes my wrist to be locked so that I am honestly not able to take a backswing of more than one or one and a half feet before my wrist is painful, my left shoulder feels like it is going to dislocate, and even my body won't turn to make the backswing. I have watched many of your videos and honestly I have no clue how you can take a full backswing and then still be able to hit the ball. I have no clue what I am doing wrong, if anything, so I need personal instruction from you, or someone you know, that would know what I am doing wrong, if anything, or if this grip just isn't going to work for me. Please help if you can.

Since he will not address my issues and problems with the grip and offer me personal training on how to execute a swing with this grip then I will just move on. When I cannot get the club more than one to one-and-a-half feet into the backswing before my left shoulder is in pain and my wrist feels like it will break then forget it. People tend to want to talk about how successful you can be with this grip but they are not willing to personally help you.

That can’t be a real golf grip that makes an actual swing

It took me less than ten minutes to develop a dandy blister in my skin fold.

I am being honest when that when I tried this grip and swing that my arms lock up in the backswing before I can get the club even a shot distance back in the backswing. I guess watching the video doesn't explain things well enough as I cannot take a full or half backswing and I am totally out of sync trying to swing the club forward. If you come to Atlanta, Georgia, and you want to meet me in person to see if you can help me figure out how to take a swing with this grip I would appreciate it.

I'll have permanent damage in my left wrist if I do this. It doesn't want to bend like that. This grip isn't gonna work for me. But if others can pull it off, more power to 'em.

I have been playing Golf since I was 14 and I am not 70. There is no way anyone can hold the club the way you show in this video and be able to swing the club and keep it under control so that you can hit the ball. Seen some odd golf stuff over my years but this is the strangest and odd one I have seen.

Dude, this feels like an April Fools joke. But obviously you are doing it and it works for you. I tried it and it hurt my lead wrist like crazy, I couldn’t set up my pullback at all

ok, man... correct me if I'm wrong. The one thing I'm seeing is that this grip makes it impossible to take the club inside or flat. It forces you to take it straight back and through? I have tried your swing in my yard and it hurts my right wrist like hell. Is that because I'm trying to get it around me?

I still have yet to try this...I find this crazy but until I try it I won't rule it out

I can see how it works, but really it's just an extreme version of a strong grip. Shawn Clements teaches the strong grip and explains the dynamics. Either way, the left side of your left hand is going towards the target. The main feature it seems the left elbow pointing to the target and is pre-set, much like a very strong grip. I think a strong grip with 3.5 -4 knuckles would be more comfortable for most and would try that before going this extreme. Teaching a newbie the basics will of course make him hit much better regardless of what technique you are teaching.

I love seeing different approaches to the game of golf. I have never understood why they try to teach the same swing or grip to everyone as everyone is different and moves differently. Also, regarding the grip that goes on the club. Do you think a 'reverse taper' grip would work well?? Like the ones Feel Grips sell?

I think people that use this grip have a genetic defect in their wrists. I have tried to figure out how they take a back swing but nothing I do will allow me to take a backswing. Maybe, I have the genetic defect??

Show me numbers. How far u hit a 7 iron? Driver? 4 iron? It's hard to believe that after 200 years or so that U figured out some new way to grip the club. Call me a pecimist.

This isn't anatomically possible for most people. The wrist just isn't designed to hinge that way. Tried it an my elbow flares out at 90 degrees and i can't get the club past shoulder height. Tried to do the wrist roll at the start and my wrist wont rotate backwards like that. Wanted to br able to give this a go but it doesn't seem possible for me.
