What a beautiful upright. The black upright my mom got me to learn on took two visits by the tuner as it was so far out. Why would you throw away that beauty because of a dead mouse? You don’t burn your house down if theres a mouse in it. Neat video. It sounds great.

I would really like to see you address the Balance Rail punchings and then the Front Rail punchings and how you measure the associated distances, choose the correct thickness of the various paper punchings and set each one correctly throughout. I have a 1916 upright that I just restrung and replaced the hammers. But now I have to regulate the rest of the piano and getting the balance rail and the front rail "just SO" is very important for key dip. This seems a very long and complicated process involving a great deal of measuring in thousands of an inch across the complete key bed. Id love to see how its done.

It is worth it to get an old piano, tune it, and repair it yourself, or get a piano technician out.

Oh boy. So half assed and lazy.

No idea how i got here, but , you can get a pistol grip style handle that snaps onto a spray can. A lot easier on the fingers, you can run it like a spray gun

This was lovely to watch. In this disposable age, to see you breathe life back into that lovely instrument is really special. Last year I inherited a well looked-after 1904 Richard Lipp & Sons twin crown and play it for 1 to 2 hrs every day. It has a gorgeous tone and a lovely touch but isn't holding its tune so well any more. Makes me want to do a restoration of my own, but it could be a step too far for me. In any case, it really warms my heart to see you rescuing pre-loved pianos so they can continue to bring joy (and not become landfill). Warm regards from Sydney - Dave

OF COURSE YOU BETTER BELIVE ITS TUNABLE i HAVE A PIANO THAT JUST TURNED A 100 YRS OLD IN 2019 IT STILL HAS THE ORGINAL STRINGS AND IT HAS A VERY BRIGHT SOUND BUT THE FELTS NED REDOING

Like a glove 😂 hi I've just got a piano pretty much identical to this one but it's a John Spencer & co London. it was very dirty and really out of tune, I spent about 10h cleaning it and had it tuned but I can't get the smell of smoke out of it, any idea's? it would be a shame to get rid of it.

Great action and vid! I'm working on a French piano from the famous KLEIN series. It's an overdamper model with a straight-strung frame and I wonder what is the best sequence of tuning? Does ANYbody have a proper scheme to use which groups in which sequence in order to raise the pressure in balance and prevent damage? PLEASE help, I can't find any info so far on this particular subject

Old is Gold. .......Very difficult to get such sturdy construction in present Pianos.
