SOLO Backpacking Yosemite Wilderness
Join me on my solo backpacking adventure through Yosemite National Park, starting with an epic drive from Southern Utah. I pass through quiet small towns and wide-open desert landscapes, with the last light of the sun glowing over Boundary Peak and a stunning rainbow stretching across the sky. After a long day on the road, I set up camp just outside Yosemite, ready for an unforgettable experience. Follow along as I explore the wilderness, tackle challenging trails, and soak in the beauty of one of the most iconic national parks in the world.

    Great video! Such a cool hike. My husband and I did a rim to River in late September. While it was hands down one of the coolest things I’ve ever done, I want to underscore for others who want to hike the canyon how important it is to research, plan, prepare, and train for these hikes. We saw a lot of people in really bad shape on trail and at the bottom. Temps at phantom in the shade were 101 on 9/25/24 and even today 10/9/24 high down there is going to be 98. Have fun but prepare and stay safe! Don’t underestimate the canyon.

    Stumbled across your content thanks to algorithms... I'm in the UK and just completed the Cumbria Way trail, which is stunning in a different way to Yosemite... Loving your content already, watched the rim to rim to rim and will look forward to watching your other uploads... If you are ever visiting the UK try the Cumbria Way or Coast to Coast... Some alternative content... Thanks and keep doing as you have a natural way about you that makes it all the more enjoyable to watch... 🙌💙👍

    I loved the stream of self-reflection throughout the trip. Beginning on day two’s recognition that your choices to slow down on day one really made the trip worth it. And Cloud’s Rest views were amazing - way better than last time. You even caught a few images of Mt. Clark, or as I call it Potato Chip Mountain, which has long been my icon of really getting into the back country hiking. I loved all of the beautiful views as it reminded me of just how beautiful Yosemite.

    I’m just about half way through the video. When I saw you were going up the Upper Yosemite Falls trail, the agony of defeat hit me. I’ve tried that trail twice. The first time included my mother who was not able to do a trail like this. The second time I learned and just took my fittest friend. We made good progress until the last big set of switchbacks, where there had been a substantial rockslide. The trail was closed and we quickly realized it was also way too dangerous to try. This, two tries and two fails! So glad you made it up and over to North Dome. If you have not done it before, you need to take the Half Dome trail and look over the edge.

    My first big hiking trip was there we left one car at the visiting center & checked in and drove the 2nd car up into the mountains we ended up hiking down to the river we had just missed a big forest fire everything was still smoldering, and it started to rain that should have been a red flag. Our hike was supposed to take 4 days to hike back down to the visitor center we cut it short by one day and ended up in the ice cold river for 14 hours, when we checked back in there was a warning that there was a 60% plus chance of flash flooding.the next day back home we found out there was a flash flood later that day. I would not have known what to do. And most definitely this one person wouldn't have made it 🙄

    • @trailandtravel
      @trailandtravel 11 днів тому

      sounds like an incredible trip! And maybe I would make it in a flash flood, but I also wouldn't go hiking in a slot canyon like this when there is a 60% chance of flooding. 🤷🏽‍♀️
