Nah dawg, not the worst. I have toured and lived all the country and TN and TX are the worst. Oregon is tame and so is Washington. So frickin aggressive in their big ass trucks. They all feel invincible. Your takes are weird; I don't see people not using their turn signals that's silly as hell.

Simple answer to your question, they aren't. Oregon isn't even in the top ten worst states in America. Portland isn't even top 25 cities. Misleading title is misleading. Thumbs down.

I can tell you exactly why so many drivers are terrible. It’s because they don’t teach driver education in high schools anymore. They stopped funding for that a long time ago and it’s gone down hill since then. Years ago they had classroom education and then the schools had their own cars that were maintained by the auto shop classes. Juniors and seniors could take free classes and then take their passing grade to their parents insurance and get a discount. Now with parents teaching most of the young drivers they pass on their own bad habits and there you go. Bring back driver education and we’ll see if it improves.

I live in Seattle and I'm thinking about moving to Portland. All the driving behaviors you mention for Portland are also found in Seattle. For Seattle in particular, some competitive drivers will speed up to deny you a merge slot if you use your turn signals before merging into their lane even if there is adequate space. So a lot of drivers will intentionally merge suddenly with no turn signals so as not to give the driver in the other lane an opportunity to deny their merge which is something that can also piss the other driver off. People here are also sensitive to horns, I have given inattentive drivers a short horn "bip" to let them know they are wandering into my lane and could hit my vehicle and some of them have reacted angrily by suddenly merging into my lane and then brake checking me. One other thing about Washington is drivers is that drivers here are very much into their rights, as in their "right" to drive 55 mph in the far left freeway lane when traffic is moving at 70 mph or greater.

The Antifa terrorist rampage in 2020 was the nail in the coffin for Portland. It’s a disgusting city. And what did the idiot residents do? The reelected Wheeler for mayor. He sided w/ Antifa. Additionally, the city and the governor refused the National Guard’s help because they didn’t want help from Trump. Businesses left and are still leaving. Graffiti and drugs everywhere.

One of the biggest problems in Portland is that it's a 2 state metropolitan area with poor access to Clark County. They don't just need to rebuild the Interstate Bridge, they need a 3rd bridge over the Columbia. Over a half million people live in Clark County, and 75,000 of them work in Oregon, so they really need to get on it.

Denver drivers are so much worse.

Portland requires situational awareness. Look at that poor woman mauled by a pack of dogs owned by homeless, now fighting to survive. She was just out for a walk just like you. I'm on the east side and it isn't great. Has it's moments where it feels like it's improving then you get sucked back in (think perfect storm). You deal with drug addicts every single day. Walk around horrid crap (literally) see the occasional rat on springwater. This is not even close to the city I love. Crumbling infrastructure, deferred maintenance galore. I know we need to celebrate the wins, but we can't stop pressing for change.

Historic downtown Milwaukie (between the river and 99e) is a trip. It’s like an old ghost town. Seems like it escaped all the development around it, but was never really granted special status.

Thank you so much for this video. I lived in the area my entire life until I was 62 in 2019. Then hubby and I retired to Texas. I walked that waterfront nearly every weekday . I really miss that beautiful waterfront. Thank you for the positives and the negatives of his Portland is now.

As someone who's pondering Portland as a future destination I love the idea of these videos and the fact that you're doing them at all. But I find them a little wandering and not to the point. So my advice is, "Keep it up, and speed it up!" :)

If you’re a normal person the people in Portland SUCK! They are weird and not in a good way. I think the rain, which I love makes them abnormal. Was there for 8 years. Had to go for my own sanity.

I am considering to transfer to Portland for work. I used to live in SLO, California, now in Midwest. I am hesitant because I was told Portland is lawless, drug and violence infested, unsafe. Is it true?

It is not 'objectively bad weather.' The precip here is drizzle most of the time. Compared to precip in the Midwest, I can walk outside in the 'rain' in Portland and my clothes don't even get soaked.

Portland is corrupt and it is not possible to fix corrupt people… the courts are also corrupt.

Moved here 16 years ago, it's been down hill the whole time. Now I hate the place!!! I'd love to move back to upstate NY where I grew up, but family complications keep me trapped in the miserable place. Portland has nothing to offer, I gave it enough of a chance. It's worthless now. Hopefully, some day, I will leave. It's just not as easy as some think.

I just moved here from L.a. last year Portland is such a beautiful city I love Oregon I don’t know why people talk so much trash on Portland there’s a lot of jobs here and people don’t gatekeep all the good jobs like they do in some parts of Southern California

I lived in NoPo for years and I have to say a major contributor to the traffic is all the people that live across the river in Vancouver and commute back and forth into the Portland metro area. I left Portland in 2017 for Salem and now Roseburg. I do miss Portland at times but I definitely do not miss the traffic.

My complaint about oregon is gonna ruffle feathers. Its the people. I love everything about portland and i do mean everything, however coming from the south, the people were very odd to me. The passive aggressiveness made me wanna choke them lol. The anti social attitude of pacific nw ppl was not for me. Im from the south were everyone talks to everyone

I’ve lived here for 14 years, moving from Minnesota. What I like about Portland is that it is like living in a garden. Most people turn their lawns and even the parking strip into gardens, and the flowers start blooming in early Feb. I am a gardener and this is such an amazing place to be for plants, the first time I saw pears, figs and Cherry trees I decided to stay. The worst thing is not the homeless problem, (which I actually think will turn around based on the research I’ve been keeping up with) but the cost of living. For a family of 4 to live comfortably here you have to make 257k a year. That’s outrageous for most families. We want to move because our house is tiny but we like our neighborhood and the houses here cost 750k-1 mil for a 3 bedroom.

Moved to Portland seven years ago. All around aweso me e place to live. For about 4 months it rains lightly or moderately for most or all of the day. Never a thunderstorm just light rain. Temps are moderate throughout winter. Snow depends on elevation more than anything else. Summers rock. Can get a few weeks or patches of extreme heat but so much of the year is between 50F and 70F . Perfect.
