    Actually a very nice and well thought video with good advice. I must say the title was quite a clickbait. You will not typically raise your IQ that many points, especially if you start at around 150. With an increase of 50 in that case you would be perhaps the smartest person who ever lived.. But ignoring this claim, the advice is solid and will definitely raise your results on IQ tests and your intellectual capabilities in general.

    From ChatGPT: 1. Puzzles and riddles to maintain IQ Yes, regularly solving puzzles and riddles can help maintain IQ or slow age-related cognitive decline, but they do not significantly increase IQ. 2. Positive self-affirmations Positive self-affirmations can increase self-confidence and motivation, which can make you feel smarter and more engaged in cognitive challenges. This can indirectly lead to an improvement in cognitive abilities. 3. Stretching and exercise for IQ Regular physical activity, including stretching and exercise, promotes cerebral blood flow and neuroplastic processes, which supports cognitive function. This can help maintain or slightly improve IQ. 4. Sauna and detox Sauna sessions can promote general well-being and relaxation, which can indirectly support cognitive function. However, a significant increase in IQ through sauna sessions is unlikely. 5. Walks and changes of environment Walks, especially in nature, promote cognitive flexibility, creativity and concentration. They are an effective method for improving cognitive health. 6. Neat environment A tidy environment can improve concentration by minimizing distractions. This supports better cognitive performance. 7. Read books and research Reading books and looking up unfamiliar words expands vocabulary and improves understanding. It is an effective method for increasing language and cognitive skills. 8. UA-cam videos at double speed Watching videos at double speed can help you process information faster, but it's not suitable for everyone and doesn't have a direct impact on IQ. Increase in IQ by 50 points A 50 point increase in IQ is extremely unlikely because IQ is largely genetically determined. Moderate improvements through the methods mentioned are possible, but no drastic increases. Conclusion A combination of mental stimulation, physical activity, positive self-affirmations, tidy surroundings, and continuous learning can improve cognitive performance. However, extreme increases in IQ are not realistic.

    Dont waste time. Crosswords and intellectual games don't actually increase iq instead they only use the current knowledge. Physical development and intellectual development go hand in hand. Take a detox to reduce chemical toxins in your body. Do out-door walking. Tidy your mind by removing your negative thoughts and thinking critically. Read books with complete comprehension of each word. Everytime you come across a word you don't understand, look it up because you may not care about the meaning but your mind does. Watch UA-cam on higher speeds to help enhance the brain's speed. By doing these you can increase your iq by 50 points.

      With all due respect, 50 is a little radical. Even for the most promising methods of increasing IQ, as supported by research, a 50 point increase is unheard of. At most, I’d expect a 10-20 point increase. There isn’t research for much outside of this range, though. Hell, there isn’t much research within it, just a lot more than there is outside of it. Imo your best bet is n-back (recommend quad n-back on brainworkshop w/ only pentominoes and tetrominoes-fixed for the images), exercise, a healthy diet, and integrating aspects of relational frame theory into cognitive training. Study logic/math and do hard logic/math problems, like ones math olympiads train with and stuff. Even with all of this, though, I wouldn’t expect more than a 20 point increase

    Baseline: Modern IQ is defined as an average of 100, a standard deviation of 15, and IQ test percentile scores are mapped to that scale. Without studies and findings to back these things up, this is essentially just a gish gallop of anecdotes... Given how outlandish an increase of 50 IQ points is (Smallest gap is bypassing 10,934,173 ranks by starting from an IQ of 144 or an IQ of 6, Largest gap is bypassing 7.3 billion ranks by starting from an IQ of 75, and starting from 145 or higher, or 5 or lower, actually just makes it a mathematical impossibility. An IQ of 196 is by definition the most intelligent person among 12.8 billion people... No one has that kind of sample size, in large part because of it's scale, as well as the limitation of the actual human population.) I'm not seeing a lot of reason to accept what you're saying.

    • @jacksonh2083
      @jacksonh2083 8 днів тому

      And iq of 196 does not mean someone is the most intelligent person out of all those people lol. I agree with almost everything you said, but IQ doesn’t define intelligence, the two are correlated. You can be smarter than someone that has a higher IQ than you, though. Genuinely smarter, I’m not conflating intelligence with knowledge. I agree with basically everything else, tho

    • @zerrubabbel
      @zerrubabbel 7 днів тому

      There's only so much I can say in a UA-cam comment... I agree though, IQ and Intelligence are two different things... So if you're pointing out that IQ is the measurement, I agree... But if you mean something else, I'll listen to your elaboration.

    • @winstonsmith6552
      @winstonsmith6552 6 днів тому

      A 50 point increase sounds like fiction. Maybe 10 or so points. You can get better at doing iq tests through practice. I have done a few in the past. Stopping drinking alcohol was definitely 1 thing that improved mine. Ecstasy and mushrooms might have had an effect also. I do quizzes on a daily basis and my memory is definitely good. I have raised mine from 114 to 120. But have I really gotten any smarter or just better at the test?

    • @zerrubabbel
      @zerrubabbel 6 днів тому

      @@winstonsmith6552 I look at it like this, and maybe it's faulty, but I think it's at least pretty close: Physical fitness and cognitive fitness have a lot in common... Which is to say that you have some biological limit which signifies the highest you could possibly go under ideal conditions. But you also are where you are now, which is determined by your self care habits, and your practice. So yes, I do think a lot of people can improve their intelligence to some degree if they make effort to improve their self care and cognitive fitness. But not everyone can be Usain Bolt, or Albert Einstein... Usain Bolt can't outrun even a house cat, and Einstein couldn't unify General and Special Relativity... Our limits are out there somewhere, no matter who we are.

    As for your last point for watching at 2x the speed, is this way of information processing different than your previous point of reading meticulously and making sure no words, sentences, or concepts goes misunderstood or ignored? I guess if you can watch at increased speeds and still know the words but string the concepts together faster due to the faster speed that is fine but how does it compare to scrupulous nature of reading, assuming you are not using an audiobook? I did like your concepts in the video about how the brain maps the outside world onto itself and how disorderly, understimulating, or distracting stimuli externally, even if it is a subconscious recognition of weakness in physical health, can distract by having your brain function in a less dynamic or distracted place.

    • @neilcarpenter1972
      @neilcarpenter1972 25 днів тому

      I see your point. Watching on x2 speed and meticulously reading are different, almost contradictory methods. Watching/listening on x2 speed is most workable if the information is fully understandable, otherwise the slow and careful method is the most effective. Thank you for your comment and thanks for watching.

    Hi Neil, this was an absolutely excellent summary of many of the same intuitions I've had implementing the solid habits you've mentioned. You mentioned walking outdoors and I really think this is a wonderful and underrated habit especially in the UK. I used to wonder what habit was common to the geniuses of Britain's past whether Alan Turing or Isaac Newton and it was astonishing to find out they all had a habit of being outdoors walking and letting their minds wander/ponder. Its astonishing the things you mind comes up with when you're fit and healthy and are outdoors regularly walking. This is even more pronounced as I've experienced myself after going for a week away in the lake district whilst restricting phone usage. One bonus way that in my experience is the 100% full proof way to improve IQ is by doing Quad-n-back training. Its a type of brain game that really exercises the working memory and thus fluid intelligence. There's another youtuber called infinite IQ who describes his 3 year experience training with it. Personally this method has resulted in THE most astonishing gains in IQ and processing speed that I've experienced in my WHOLE life. All the other methods you've mentioned are very solid though I feel like they incease that inner space or "inuition" part of the IQ but Quad-n-back training I feel works on that raw computer-like RAM processing speed. For me that has made everything I experience at work feel like easy mode. It really makes it easy to understand anything complex that I come across. I highly recommend you try it out for 2 weeks. All you need is 15-20mins a day doing it. best wishes,

    Yeah.. Iv got this in my family’s history too.. My grandad.. Sunderland boy.. At 12 he started working in the shipyards.. By 18 he’d had enough of carrying sacks of shipping rivets from one side of the yard to the other and joined the army. He left the army around 32-33 I think.. His last role was as a drill Sargent in a military prison.. His nickname was “The Bas….d” When he left and moved down to Keighley to be with his wife (My Nana Heckles) He started a door firm.. He and my uncle Ernest (His brother) ran the doors of many pubs in the area.. Just a walkie talkie.. Call Harry if you get any bother and they’ll be there soon type of thing..One of their “incidents” got in the local paper.. A Hillman Imp was found wedged on 2 wheels between a lamppost and a phone box.. The driver didn’t know how it got there apparently. I wonder if he remembered giving lip to a man that was 6ft7, 26 stn and his “little brother” when he was asked to park it away from the door of the pub 🧐🤷🏻‍♂️🤫🤣

    Yes I would say we are more open minded (I am gen z) but it is a strength and a weakness. The previous generations had subscribed better to Christian values which produced the prosperous and peaceful societies of the time. It was precisely obedience and respect of authority which assisted the western world in its success and it is precisely disobedience to Christian values which is producing the decline of the west today. No brother I do not follow your hope because my generation are lost amidst all kinds of sin; greed, sexual immorality, idolatry which directly inhibits them because of there open mindedness. Jesus tells us the path is straight and narrow, it requires discipline and with compassion I’m sad to say my generation are a generation of broad minded, lazy, aimless, hopeless, souls and the reason being our lack of ethics. There is an attack against us all in the west and it is precisely the rise of this Atheistic, open to anything ideology which is the route of it. You can think you can go about your life judging right and wrong but you will soon find what a foolish judge you are and you’ll hopelessly go here and there in your nihilistic life looking for hope and it’s then you’ll be swallowed up by some Ill meaning, malicious, psychopath who will delude you into obedience to his utopian, totalitarian whims. It’s happened time and again through the century’s but man never learns, environmentalism and wokeisim are precisely that.
